Codicil by which D. João Mascarenhas, 1º marquês da Fronteira, conde da Torre and mestre de campo general da província de Entre Douro e Minho, ratifies his previous will approved in 1657-04-10. He declares that, if he dies in the campaign he is departing to, he wishes to be buried in the church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Matosinhos, where his mother-in-law, D. Joana de Castro, is buried. He declares his second son will inherit the entail founded by his uncle, D. Filipe Mascarenhas, which includes houses and public debt instruments in the Casa de Bragança. He annexes properties he received from the king to the entail of his ancestors, and designates his son D. Fernando as its heir.

Contract and bond deed by which the priests of the monastery of Nossa Senhora da Serra of Santarém give the main chapel of their church to D. Fernando Mascarenhas and his wife, D. Filipa da Silva, to serve as their family's chapel and burial place. D. Fernando and his wife donate a public debt instrument to the priests which they entail to an obligation of a daily mass for their souls. The priests promise to fulfil this obligation.
Contains a licence allowing the priests to celebrate the contract and a letter of attorney.

Entail foundation deed

Entail foundation deed by which D. Fernando Mascarenhas, do Conselho do Rei, and his wife, D. Filipa da Silva, establish the entail of Torre das Várzeas, headed by their farmstead in Ponte de Sor, and composed of another farmstead and houses in Santarém. They bequeath it to their eldest son, D. Manuel Mascarenhas, and to his descendants afterwards. The entail shall be annexed to their chapel in the chancel of the church of the convent of Nossa Senhora da Serra of Santarém, where they wish to be buried, with the obligation of a daily mass and other annual masses.
