Administration letter

Administration letter to Diogo Fernandes, inhabitant of Santiago Island, during his lifetime only, after which period it would return to the Crown.

Fernandes, Diogo (flor.1515)

Agreement deed

Agreement deed made by Nuno Pires, tabelião público, celebrated between Valentim Vasques (with the assent of Isabel Jorge, his wife) and Estêvão Rodrigues Pimentel. After a dispute about the possession of part of a farm that Rodrigo Vilharem had left to the chapel he had instituted in the church of Espírito Santo da Ribeira Grande, on the island of Santiago, in Cabo Verde, Valentim Vasques, who administered that chapel, donates the administration to Estêvão Rodrigues Pimentel, to avoid the division of the farm. Estêvão Rodrigues Pimentel had presented some public deeds, stating that he had bought half of this farm from Alonso Ramirez, Rodrigo Vilharem's brother-in-law. Valentim Vasques had been appointed by Inhego Ortiz, first administrator appointed by the institutor in his will, made by Afonso André, escrivão, and approved by Brás Lopes, tabelião, on 1502-06-22.
