Court sentence confirming the incorporation of the farmstead (quinta) of Lapas, a saltern (marinha) in Setúbal and houses in Lisboa in Manuel Álvares de Castro and Francisca Carlos' entail, which was administrated at that time by Nuno Dias de Castro.

Entail foundation deed by which Manuel Álvares de Castro and Francisca Carlos, his wife, establish and entail with the third part of their assets, which comprises houses in Lisboa, inns (estalagens) in Moita, Alhos Vedros, and Alvito, lands in Alvito ("herdade do Pinheiro"), rents (foros) in Azambuja and Carcavelos, a farmstead (quinta) in Arrentela and properties in Cabo Verde ("fazenda de Santa Cruz"). They appoint Nuno Dias de Castro, their son, to be its first administrator, obligating him and his descendants to support the celebration of a daily mass in the chapel of S. Catarina and Almas do Purgatório of the church of S. Nicolau of that city. He is allowed to choose which son should become the entail's second administrator. Afterwards it would be inherited by the eldest son of his successor.

Subrogation deed

Subrogation deed by which D. José de Castro and D. Catarina Carlos, his wife, administrators of Manuel Álvares de Castro and Francisca Carlos' entail, incorporate in it a public debt instrument of 80 000 réis, using the profit of the sale of the farmstead (quinta) of Lapas, Sintra, which had previously integrated the entail. Francisco Carlos, D. Catarina Carlos' uncle and tutor, had previously sold that farmstead, stating that it was in a ruinous state. Contains copy of a warrant issued on 1669-05-11.

Will

Will by which Manuel Álvares de Castro, Francisca Carlos' husband, confirms the institution of an entail previously established by him and his wife, which should be inherited by Nuno Dias de Castro, their son. He appoints the latter and his mother to be the executors of his will. The testator declares that his body should be buried in the chapel of Santa Catarina of the church of S. Nicolau of Lisboa.
