Acórdão em Relação

Acórdão em Relação related to judicial process between the procurador da Coroa and the defendant Lourenço Vaz Brandão, by which the lease deed of the casal de Belmont in Paço was judge as null. After the vacancy of its administration, it was incorporated in the chapel of Vicente Eanes, until the administrator Diogo de Abreu rent it to Lourenço Vaz Brandão in 1593. A sentence delivered by an ecclesiastical judge determined that the rent payed (1 moio) was very low and then the estate passed to the Crown by via of judicial sentence. So, now, the lease is judge as null and the property must by incorporated in the chapel and registered in the tombo.

Acórdão em Relação

Acórdão em Relação stating that after the sentence against Miguel Vaz Brandão, the king made him the mercy of the administration in his life with a pension of 10 mil reis, with the obligation of fulfil the charges and finish the tombo. It mentions that the estate of the farm and the chapel were usurped by the prior of Alcainça, who leased the chapel to Miguel Vaz Brandão and the quinta do Arneiro and the Paço in Belmonte to his brother Lourenço Vaz Brandão, without fulfilling the charges. These leases were judged as null and thus it was declared that the administrations of the Quinta and the chapel are independent and vacant for the Crown (repealing the clause of a previous sentence which determined the Quinta do Arneiro as being attached to the chapel, by virtue of an old will that had no value). It was also ordered the apposition in the chapel of a headstone stating the pious charges now determined

Acórdão em Relação

Acórdão em Relação by the Casa da Suplicação confirming the Acórdão em Relação dated 1676-4-10, in which the judges condemn the defendant at triple the cost, for defending this case with malice and having possession of the property of the entail in bad faith

In case of conflict, the royal justice must judicially inquire and, if the result is as the king says, produce a sentence and deliver the administration to the abovementioned Fernando de Castro, who is obligated to comply with the charges determined by the will of the deceased.

Administration letter

Administration letter to capitão Leonel de Mesquita Pimentel giving him, during his lifetime only, the administration of Arneiro entail and chapel founded by Vicente Eanes in Alcainça, as a reward for his services and after presentation by the beneficiary of a sentence giving the Crown the administration of the chapel called the entail of Arneiro, mentioning the fact that exemplifications of the institution are registered in the Torre do Tombo and Juízo das Capelas da Coroa.

Administration letter

Administration letter on behalf of João Forjaz, escudeiro do rei and morador in Ameixoeira, of the Quinta do Arneiro. According to the supplicant, he administrates all the estate belonging to the chapel founded by Vicente Eanes Forjaz in the church of São Miguel of Alcainça. The latter also bequeathed the Quinta of Arneiro which was unlawfully possessed without title by Diogo de Abreu, clergyman, since the administration belonged to the Crown. The king orders the delivery of the administration of the Quinta do Arneiro to João Forjaz, upon verification the truth of his statements: the belonging of its administration to the chapel, its alienation by Diogo de Abreu and the royal right to appoint the administrator.

Administration letter

Administration letter on behalf of João Forjaz, morador na Ameixoeira of the administration of the Quinta do Arneiro, on the outskirts of Torres Vedras. This property was given by Vicente Eanes to Álvaro Dias, son of Diogo Bartolomeu, with the charge of maintaining a masse as determined by the institutor will. Due to his death, this farm passed to the administration of a descendant of the institutor, who gave it as a debt payment to Diogo de Abreu. Because he was a cleric not from the institutor’s lineage and didn’t had a legitimate title of possession nor fulfil the institutor’s charges, the administration of the property fell vacant to the Crown. After having seen a previous deed signed by him (a «prazme» deed) and the compromisso, the kings give the administration of the farm to the abovementioned João Forjaz. According to the monarch, the latter is different from the administration of São Silvestre instituted by the same Vicente Eanes in the parochial church of Alcainça.
