The mass won't be prayed if he doesn't receive it.

According to Francisco Pereira Sarmento, Maria de Bairros did not write a will and only declared, before many witnesses and her only daughter, that she bequeathed her available portion to her son-in-law with the pious obligation of the celebration of the three Christmas masses, every year, for her and her husband's, Francisco da Silva, souls.
