Land measurement deed

Land measurement deed of 6 moios of land in Pico da Mostarda bequeathed by Álvaro da Costa to marry orphan girls and administrated by capitão Duarte Borges da Câmara, who requested the measurement to Provedor of Resíduos. The Provedor orders the land measurement and appoints two municipal measurers to do it.

Will of António Borges da Costa founding an entail with his available portion and with the obligation of a half of a chapel and appointing his wife, D. Maria da Câmara, as his heir and, after her death, his three religious daughters and, after their death, his granddaughter, D. Ana. The testator also appoints his son, Duarte Borges da Câmara as his successor in the entails (terças) of João Gonçalves and João de Arruda Botelho (or da Costa), his grandfathers, Amador da Costa de Arruda, Álvaro da Costa, his uncle, Manuel da Costa, his uncle. He also appoints him as his successor in some properties, included those entailed by Margarida Mendes, his aunt, which are administrated by the testator.
Will approved in 1648-03-22 and opened in 1648-03-24.

Will chart of Álvaro da Costa entailing 40 alqueires of land to the celebration of two chapels for his soul, in the monastery of S. Francisco of Ponta Delgada and appointing Vasco Caldeira as administrator and, after his death, Duarte Borges and his successors. Álvaro da Costa also appoints his nephew, Duarte Borges, as administrator and his successor in the available portions and chapels of his father and grandfather; Manuel da Costa, his brother; and Margarida Mendes, his aunt. He mentions that he has a land entailed to the chapel of Beatriz da Costa, his cousin, which will be administrated after his death by the daughter of Beatriz da Costa and her offspring.
Will approved in 1606-08-25 and opened in 1606-09-01.
