Scope and content
Tombo (extract) of the chapel established by Juliana Gomes in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, by which it is declared that in her will, approved in 1632-07-21, she established a chapel of 24 annual masses for her and her husband's, Luís Gomes, soul, and 9 masses on the days of the Virgin Mary. She appointed her son, padre Cosme Luís, as its first administrator, followed by his brother, Ambrósio da Silva, tanoeiro, who, by the time of this tombo, were already deceased. It is declared that these obligations started in 1658, after Ambrósio's death, and were entailed to two houses in rua da Tanoaria, Lisboa, which were also entailed to the chapel established by Luís Gomes, tanoeiro, and Juliana's husband. These chapels were administered by Luís da Silva, Juliana's grandson, and afterwards by Cosme Luís da Silva, another grandson. The tombo also declares that the institutor's will is in the convent's archive.
