Will (extract) in which Ricarda Antunes bequeaths her niece Catarina Ferreira her share in the houses located in Beco and on Rua do Mestre Gonçalo, Lisboa, which she had perpetually rented from the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Lisboa. In return, Catarina Ferreira is required to fulfil a set of conditions, namely pious charges for her aunt’s soul in the convent.
Ricarda Antunes had inherited the third part of her father’s assets with the condition that it would pass to her brother, António de Azevedo, and his children if she had no offspring. As António de Azevedo had already died, his daughter Catarina Ferreira was to succeed and receive the share of the houses that belonged to her grandfather and the share that belonged to her aunt. Catarina was to own the houses in their entirety and entailed to Ricarda’s chapel, paying rent to the convent, and compensating her brothers for any claims they may have on them.
