Scope and content
Citation letter in which Francisco Mendes, administrator of the entail and chapel founded by Sebastião Mendes Canto, agreed, in the presence of the Provedor das Capelas and of cónego Afonso Dias, executor of the will made by the institutor, to increase the perpetual pious legacies of the entail in barely five masses, as the revenue of the entailed properties was not enough not even to pay for the 85 perpetual masses disposed by the institutor. From there on, the administrators of the entail would be obliged to order the perpetual celebration of 90 masses every year.
