Subrogation deed

Subrogation deed by which António da Mata Landim, administrator of the chapel of Álvaro Pires Landim, subrogates the Quinta dos Loureiros, in S. Domingos de Benfica, which is in a state of ruin, for a payment of 60 000 reis of interest in the almoxarifado of Abrantes, given to him in exchange for the Quinta by D. João Mascarenhas, conde da Torre. Diligences were made to free the Quinta, incluiding obtaining the approval of the next in line to the entail, António's sister D. Mariana da Mata Landim.
Mentions a sale deed dated 1627-03-23 between Jerónimo de Landim, a previous administrator, and the nuns of Odivelas, who had taken the Quinta for debts incurred by another possible administrator, Luís Mendes de Azevedo, written by the notary de Vasco de Andrade de Sampaio.
Followed by a sentence dated 1666-01-02 by which the Quinta is freed and the interest is entailed to the chapel in its place.
