Chaplains’ appointment

Chaplains’ appointment in favour of D. Simão Nunes Chacón, clérigo de ordens menores, nephew of Margarida Botelho, issued by Fr. Placido Pacheco, bishop of Cadiz, elected bishop of Plasencia, and of the Conselho do Rei. In her will, Margarida Botelho had appointed as her executors her husband, Nuno Álvares de Lisboa, and her father, António Lopes Nunes. They had entailed to her chapel some houses in Cadiz, and appointed D. Simão, son of D. Maria Nunes, sister and heir of the institutor, as perpetual chaplain. They requested that the chapel should be erected as an ecclesiastical benefice, to which Fr. Placido agreed, appointing D. Simão Nunes Chácon as beneficiary, and António Lopes Nunes and Nuno Álvares de Lisboa as patrons.
