Will (extract) by which Inês Mendes de Castro requests to be buried in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, in her father's tomb, and entails her third part to a chapel of annual masses for her and her husband's soul.

Will (extract) by which Francisco Dias de Leão orders that the successors of his entail, the first of which shall be his son, António Dias de Leão, must pray each year the masses ordered in the will of his deceased wife, Inês Mendes de Castro, in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa.

Sentence

Sentence considering fulfilled the will of Fernando Dias de Leão by his son and executor, António Dias de Leão. It is explained that Francisco Dias de Leão had established a chapel dedicated to Santa Catarina in the church of Nossa Senhora dos Mártires, Lisboa, bequeathing to it a a public debt instrument in Santarém. He also established an entail, to be inherited by his eldest son and his successors, with part of his properties. He incorporated into it the chapel of his first wife, in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, the masses ordered by his daughter, Leonor Mendes, in the convent of Cartuxos, and a payment to his son, Fernando de Castro, if he is ordained. The administrator of his entail could chose the chaplain who prayed the masses in Nossa Senhora dos Mártires.

Petition by which Francisco Dias de Leão, as heir and executor of his wife, Inês Mendes de Castro, requests a sentence confirming that his wife ordered a weekly mass in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, for both their souls, because the number of masses hadn't been made clear by the priest who wrote her will.
Followed by dispatch authorizing, dated 1632-05-22; dispatch ordering a louvamento do réu, dated 1632-05-27; and louvamentos do réu, by which he and the priest who wrote the will swear on the veracity of its contents, dated 1632-05-28 and 1632-06-16.
