Contract and bond deed

Contract and bond deed between the priests of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Lisboa and Diogo Rodrigues de Lisboa, as administrator of the chapel of his brother Henrique Rodrigues de Lisboa, who died in Goa. Diogo Rodrigues was notified by the procurador das capelas to accomplish his brother’s will and establish a chapel with a perpetual daily mass in the church of that convent. Although his brother's assets did not arrive from India, Diogo Rodrigues gives 42 0000 réis to the priests who must buy a property whose annual income should exceed 30 000 réis to ensure the pious charges and the chapel’s maintenance. Other obligations for both parties are detailed in this contract.
