Will (extract)

Will (extract) by which Vasco Lourenço designates as his heirs Vicente Pires, prebrendeiro da Sé de Lisboa, and João Pires, his cousin. He orders them to annually give wine from his farmstead in Arrentela, Seixal, to the monastery of Santíssima Trindade of Lisboa, for the maintenance of two chaplains who shall pray a daily mass for his soul. After the last one of the them dies, the obligation shall pass to their closest relatives.

Lourenço, Vasco ([before 1354])

Resignation deed

Resignation deed by which Sancha Eanes, nun in the monastery of Chelas and daughter of Vicente Pires Sardinha, gives up her rights to the farmstead in Arrentela which she had inherited from her father, together with the obligations entailed to it, bequeathing them to the monastery of Santíssima Trindade of Lisboa.
Contains undated writing by Sancha Eanes explaining that her father had inherited the totality of the properties bequeathed by Vasco Lourenço, since his cousin, João Pires Arangues, who had also been designated heir, had renounced his part. He had had conflicts with the priests of the monastery of Santíssima Trindade over the quantity of wine which should be given for the obligations entailed to it, managing to reduce it. After his death, his wife, Catarina Lopes, had inherited the farmstead and the obligations, but had stopped keeping them, and thus been warned by the priests.
Followed by lease of the lands by Vasco Pires and other documentation related to the management of the property after it was given to the priests.
