Will (extract)

Will (extract) by which Mécia Fernandes bequeathed lands (casa) in Valejas, located on the outskirts of Lisboa, to Jorge Lopes, obligating him and his successors to support the celebration of 10 annual masses for her soul and the soul of her sister, Leonor Fernandes, in the churches of S. Miguel and S. Pedro of Alfama. The properties could never be sold or exchanged for others. Jorge Lopes had to appoint the entail's next administrator or, if he died before doing it, to transmit it to his eldest son.
The testator leaves, also, houses in Beco do Lagar do Mel, Lisboa, to her criado, Rodrigo, determining that him and his descendants had to celebrate 5 annual masses for her soul in the church of S. Miguel. Those houses could never be sold. If Rodrigo did not produce an heir, the entailed property would be added to the entail left to Jorge Lopes.

Will (extract)

Will (extract) by which Jorge Lopes transmitted Mécia Fernandes' entail to his wife, Catarina Rodrigues, ordering her to fulfil the pious obligations established by the institutor. After his wife's death, the entail would be inherited by their eldest son and passed to his descendants. If she died without leaving heirs, it would be bequeathed to the eldest son of André Lopes, the testator's brother. The entail's future administrators were obligated to support the celebration of a mass, every month, in the church of S. Miguel, where the testator's body would be buried.
