Will (extract) by which Francisco Arnaut established an entail, appointing his nephew to be its first administrator. He was due to order the celebration of masses in the Convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo in Lisboa. This entail is composed a public debt instrument of 50 000 réis in Casa da Portagem, and some houses and a farm located in Alenquer.

Libel of accusation of João de Saldanha da Gama, plaintiff, against the defendant João de Saldanha da Gama, his father, accusing him of beign an illegal administrator of the chapel founded by Francisco Arnaut in the convent of Carmo and keeping in his possession several entailed assets especially the 40.000 réis of interest in the Almoxarifado da portagem of Lisbon. The chapel is vacant and plaintiff received a denunciation warrant of administration.

Denunciation warrant of administration

Denunciation warrant of administration on behalf of João de Saldanha da Gama allowing him to judicially demand, at his own expenses, the administration of the following chapels founded in Lisbon: one chapel by Francisco Arnault in the convent of Carmo; three chapels in the monastery of São Francisco (one by Luís da Maia and João da Maia, another by Margarida Vasques and a third by Clara Domingues); one chapel by Luís Martins and the annexed chapel of his son João Teixeira, both in the monastery of Anunciada, after denouncing their vacancy and during his lifetime only. The desembargadores do Paço should issue the respective administration letter, after presentation of this warrant and the sentence proving its vacancy to the Crown.

The chapel belongs to the Crown and to the plaintiff João de Saldanha da Gama for his lifetime. This acórdão should be registered in the books of Capelas da Coroa and Torre do Tombo. The plaintiff must ask a letter of administration to Desembargo do Paço and make the tombo.
