Will (extract)

Will (extract) by which Violante Afonso, Diogo Folgado's widow, transmits the entail established by her late husband to his nephew, Francisco Garcês, leaving him 50 cruzados which must be spent improving the state of the entailed farmstead in Talaminho, Amora. She bequeaths houses in Rua Direita de S. Miguel to Filipa Folgado, her criada, obligating her and her successors to support the celebration of a weekly mass for her soul in the church of S. Miguel of Alfama.
She also leaves 2 houses in Outeiro and Lapa to her niece, Isabel Delgado, determining that her and her descendants must celebrate a sung mass for her soul in that church.

Will chart

Will chart of Diogo Folgado, ordering his grave in the church of São Miguel of Alfama. He establishes an entail with his farmstead (quinta) in Talaminho, in Amora, on the outskirts of Almada, instituting pious obligations that must be fulfilled, each year, in that church. He designates António Folgado, his nephew, to become its administrator, determining that he should only inherit the entail after the death of Violante Afonso, his wife and executor of his will. Following his nephew's death, the entail should be left to Francisco Garcês, his other nephew. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1546-06-27.

Grace warrant of administration

Grace warrant of administration on behalf of D. Florência Guedes de Morais allowing her to appoint Francisco Xavier Borges to succeed her on the administration of the entail founded by Diogo Folgado in the church of São Miguel in Alfama, Lisbon, since she was the last descendant on the institutor's bloodline. This appointment was made in gratitude for personal services that Francisco Xavier Borges made on her behalf, but also with the condition that she would resign to some graces and an habit of the Order of Christ granted to her deceased brother, Jerónimo do Amaral, of whom she was universal heir. Francisco Xavier Borges was also appointed with the condition that he would make the tombo and that after his death the chapel should be incorporated to the Crown.
