Estêvão, where the daily masses disposed by the institutor should be celebrated.

Provision on behalf of Francisco de Brito Freire, administrator of the entail founded by his grandfather Estêvão de Brito Freire, ordering the Provedor dos Defuntos e Ausentes do Estado do Brasil to collect a debt worth 6 000 cruzados that was owed to him by Pantaleão da Costa Rosa. The Provedor should pledge this money on behalf of sugar cane planters that, in return, would pay for the debt contracted on this way with loads of sugar canes that would then be milled up in a entailed sugar mill that he owned in Baía.

Provision issued at the request of Francisco de Brito Freire, ordering the Governador-Geral of Brasil to send directly to the Casa da Suplicação all court proceedings and sentences given by the Relação da Baía on the judicial demand that he brought against the administrators of the sugar mills that were entailed on his grandfather's entail, specially the Parnamirim sugar mill, once he accused the desembargadores of Relação da Baía of plotting against him and favouring his opponents on the cause.

Provision issued at the request of Francisco de Brito Freire, ordering the Vice-Rei of Estado do Brasil to appoint the three magistrates that he required in his petition to sentence on the cause he brought for over ten years against Pantaleão da Costa Rosa, who miss-administered and almostly ruined two sugar mills in Baía's captaincy named Santiago de Parnamirim and Santo Estêvão, both of them entailed to the entail founded by his grandfather Estêvão de Brito Freire. The King ordered that the appeals eventually made on this cause should not be sentenced on the Relação of Baía, but rather be sent to the Relação do Reino.

Teresa Maria de Távora, fidalgo da Casa do Príncipe and administrator of the entail established by his grandparents, Estêvão de Brito Freire and D. Violante de Araújo, buys a farmstead called da Laje, near Aldeia Gavinha, termo de Aldeia Galega da Merceana, to annex to his entail. For this acquisition he uses the revenue from the sale of his sugar mill of Santo Estêvão in Salvador da Baía, which had belonged to his entail, but which he had sold, according to the stipulations of his grandparents' will.

Violante de Araújo, buys a farmstead called Videira in Aldeia Galega da Merceana, with the money he obtained from the sale of a public debt instrument in the Cabana do Pescado da Casa de Bragança, which belonged to his entail. He entailed this farmstead in place of the public debt instrument.
Contains letter-of-attorney and documentation regarding the possession of the farmstead before it was bought, namely a certificate of a due diligence deed to evaluate the property, termos de juramento, petitions, dispatches and extract of a will unrelated to the entail.

Will made by Estêvão de Brito Freire in which he declares he and his wife, D. Violante de Araújo, had agreed to establish an entail with their third parts, composed of several assets in Lisboa, Beja and Salvador da Baía. This entail should have the obligation of a daily mass celebrated in their chapel of Santo Estêvão, located in the church of the convent of Nossa Senhora de Jesus, in Lisboa, where they wished to be buried. He names his eldest son, Gaspar de Brito Freire, as first administrator of the entail and chapel, and his descendants, afterwards. Among his properties he lists the estate of Corte da Negra, in Beja, which his parents had bequeathed him as a chapel, and which he also passed to his son.
D. Violante de Araújo is present at the writing of this will and signs it, agreeing with the clauses concerning the institution of their entail and chapel, and with the annexation of her third part. Estêvão de Brito Freire allows her to revoke this confirmation if she wills it, under condition that his part should be kept.

Will (extract) by Estêvão de Brito Freire in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail composed of several assets in Lisboa, Beja and Salvador da Baía, with an obligation of a daily mass celebrated on his Chapel of S. Estêvão, located in the church of the convent of Nossa Senhora de Jesus, in Lisboa, where his body should be buried. He named his son Gaspar de Brito Freire as first administrator of the entail and chapel, and after his death the succession should always continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir. The administrator should keep a lamp permanently lit on the chapel, use the surname "Brito Freire" and the family coat of arms or lose the administration. Clerics and anyone who married a person of jewish or moorish ascendency should immediately lose the administrators, as well as anyone who committed lese-majeste crimes.
