Tombo of the chapel instituted by Ermígio Fernandes, in the mother church of Lagos.
Composed by a certificate containing an inserted a court sentence, a resignation and donation deed, and an acórdão.
The documents come from a certificate issued by Vicente Ribeiro de Almeida, escrivão da provedoria de Lagos, taken from existing records in his registry office.

Resignation and appointment deed

Resignation and appointment deed made by Inês da Mota, stating that Ermígio Fernandes had established a chapel in the mother church of Lagos, linking certain assets to fulfill the charges, appointing his eldest son to administer it. She also declares that the chapel was managed by Bento Gonçalves, her grandfather, and later by Gonçalo Martins, her father, from whom she had inherited it because she was the eldest daughter and had no brothers. Since she had no children, fulfilling the institution, the chapel should remain with her closest relative, namely Afonso de Almeida, her nephew, grandson of Gonçalo Martins and great-grandson of Bento Gonçalves.
It is inserted in an exemplification (dated 1545-03-02), inserted in a certificate.

Court sentence

Court sentence given by bacharel Diogo Gastão, provedor and ouvidor, judging a civil process between the procurador dos resíduos of Lagos, plaintiff, against Iñigo Rodrigues, defendant, due to Ermígio Fernandes' entail.
The sentence proved that the assets belonged to the entail and not to the chapel and that the administrator had fulfilled the charges, condemning him only at the expense of the process.
It is inserted in a certificate of of court record (dated 1545-04-18).

Acórdão of the Desembargo do Paço revoking the sentence of the corregedor that acquitted the defendant (unidentified), since it was proved that the entail was always administered by appointment, legitimately belonging to Afonso de Almeida, author.
The sentence condemns the defendant to hand over the administration of the morgado to the plaintiff.
