Will (extract)

Will (extract) by which Maria Miguéis bequeaths lands in Almada, houses and vegetable gardens (hortas) in Lisboa to Catarina Andrés, Vasco Serpa's sister and Gonçalo Gomes' wife, with the obligation of paying each year 15 libras to the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, whose friars must light a lamp in its main chapel. If the heir dies before she can fulfil the testator's will, the guardian of the convent is obligated to deliver those properties to a relative of Maria Miguéis. She leaves all her remaining assets to Gil Esteves, her nephew, who should use its revenues to support the celebration of annual masses for her soul in that convent, where his aunt's body would be buried.
