She bequeaths her third part as an entail to her grandson, Diogo Lopes, son of her son Francisco Lopes de Barros, who will be his tutor during his minority. He will have the obligation of ordering a daily mass for her soul in her burial place. If her legacy isn't fulfiled, the entail shall pass to the Misericórdia of Golegã. Will chart by which D. Joana de Macedo, António de Sousa's widow, established a chapel, entailing to it a rent (foro) of wheat and barley extracted from properties in Évora ("herdade da Fonte Boa"). She designated her nephew, Ascenso de Sequeira de Macedo, to administrate it, determining that him and his descendants had to support the celebration of a daily perpetual mass in the convent of Santa Maria do Espinheiro, where her body should be buried next to her husband's remains; and a mass, every year, in the church of Misericórdia. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1566-05-20.
Will chart by which Violante Henriques da Penha founded an entail, incorporating in it the remaining of the third part of her assets and rents (foros) extracted from lands (casais) in Nossa Senhora do Monte, outskirts of Almada. She appointed her son, Duarte Vaz Pinto, to administrate it, ordering him to pass it to his eldest son or, if he left no offspring, to his eldest sister, Branca Pinto. The testator also determined that, after her death, 3 weekly masses should be celebrated, every year, for her soul in the chapel she and her husband, Cristóvão Vaz Pinto, had in the convent of Nossa Senhora da Anunciada of Lisboa. That pious obligation would be fulfilled up until the time her husband ordered the celebration of a daily perpetual mass for their souls. She designated him to be her universal heir. Her body would be buried in that chapel. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1608-10-26 and an opening deed dated 1610-10-10.
Will chart by which Quitéria Dias, João Gonçalves' widow, establishes an entail with houses and mills in Lisboa, vineyards in Campolide and houses in Charneca, appointing her son, Vicente Dias, to be its first administrator. He and his descendants are obligated to support the celebration of 22 annual masses for her soul in a church to be chosen by the former. The testator declares that her body should be buried in the church of Santa Justa of that city, inside the grave where are buried her husband and their children.
Will chart by which Maria Luís, António da Fonseca Pestana's wife, bequeaths houses in S. Miguel de Alfama, which her first husband, Bernardo de Abreu, had left her with the obligation of celebrating annual masses for his soul in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa, to Serafina de Abreu, his niece. She also bequeaths houses in Rua dos Cabides to her husband, asking him to give them to Violante da Fonseca, his daughter, at the time of her marriage, on the condition that she and its future owners would support the celebration of annual masses in that convent. Those houses could be sold. Nevertheless, the testator declares that, if Violante da Fonseca dies childless, the entailed houses should be inherited by the eldest male relative of the former. She declares that her body must be buried in that convent, inside the grave where lies her first husband. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1599-09-11 and an opening deed issued on 1601-07-12.
Will chart made by Pedro Alves, homem que vivia de sua fazenda, and his wife, Inês Brás. The former left the third part of his assets, including vineyards and lands in Rossais to his wife, ordering her to fulfil various legacies. After the death of his wife, that estate should be delivered to his niece, Vitória do Rego, with the obligation of supporting the celebration of 56 annual masses for his soul in the church of S. João Batista of Lumiar. If those assets were sold, the pious obligation had to go with them. The testators left lands in Albogas to Maria Brás, Inês' sister, with the obligation of celebrating 2 masses, every year, for their souls in the church of Almargem do Bispo. They also left a rent (foro) in a vineyard to João Gonçalves, their brother-in-law, and his wife, obligating them to celebrate an annual mass for their souls in an unidentified church. After their deaths, the entail would be inherited by their daughter, Maria. Inês Brás determined that, after the death of her husband, all her assets had to be delivered to her nephew, Duarte, who would be responsible for celebrating, each year, 57 masses in the church of S. João Batista. If he died before receiving that inheritance, it would pass to Santos, another nephew of Inês Brás. The testators declared that their bodies would be buried in the church of S. João Batista of Lumiar. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1569-08-30.
Will chart by which Isabel Afonso, widow of João Pires, expresses her wish to be buried in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. She orders her executors to buy properties with the remaining part of her assets to entail to an obligation of masses for her soul in her burial place. She appoints Diogo Vaz and João de Quintanilha as her heirs and executors. They shall both administer her chapel and entail and shall appoint their successors among their children and heirs. She also establishes a daily mass for her soul in the convent of Esperança of Lisboa, to be administered by its nuns and abbess, to which she bequeaths a lease in Frielas. Followed by approval deed of the will.
Will chart by which Vasco da Cunha, fidalgo da Casa do Rei, orders the foundation of a chapel in the monastery of Santíssima Trindade, in the place where his parents are buried. He entails to it the properties he inherited from his brothers, Manuel and António da Cunha, and the ones given to him by his other brother, Cristóvão da Cunha. He designates Cristóvão da Cunha as his executor and first administrator of his chapel, and their brother, Gaspar da Cunha, after Cristóvão's death. The chapel shall then pass to his successors. Will chart by which Margarida Luís and Jorge Eanes, her husband, establish two entails, incorporating in them all their assets, including lands in Arranhó and houses in Lisboa. Margarida Luís designates Estêvão Afonso, her cousin, to administrate one of them and Jorge Eanes appoints Luís Afonso, his cousin, to administrate the other, both of which are obligated to support the celebration of 12 annual masses for their souls in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa. After the death of one of the testators, the other one would inherit the couple's patrimony and fulfil the pious obligations associated to it only during his lifetime. They indicate that their bodies should be buried inside that convent. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1598-12-02 and an opening deed issued on 1601-01-02.
Will chart by which António Fernandes de Elvas expresses his wish to be buried in the chapel of Rei Salvador of the monastery of S. Salvador, Lisboa, of which he is the administrator, as heir of his brother, Jorge Fernandes de Elvas. He orders the acquisition of a rent or of a public debt instrument to entail to an obligation of weekly masses to be ordered in this chapel. He declares he won't fulfil the instructions his brother left him in a memory written after his will, dated 1618, regarding the annexation of certain properties to the entail founded by his father and grandfather, since those instructions would disinherit him. He orders the annexation of the improvements he made in the houses of this entail to be considered as the third part of his third which, according to the institution, should be annexed to it. He also orders the annexation of more properties in case there are still debts left by his brother or himself to the entail. He establishes an entail with the remaining part of his third part, which he bequeaths to his minor daughter, Mariana. He appoints his wife, D. Maria de Lima, as tutor of their daughter during her minority. This entail shall be joined to the ones he already possessed. He annexes to it his houses and a public debt instrument in Elvas and orders the sale of other properties to acquire more assets. Followed by the approval deed of the will.

Genebra Teixeira, João de Barros Cardoso' widow, bequeathed the third part of her assets to António Barros, her son, ordering him to entail to it the third part of his estate and to pass it to his eldest son. If António died without leaving descendants, the entail would be inherited by the institutor's other son, Bento de Barros. She declared that her body had to be buried in the chapel of Madre de Deus of the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, where her father, Rui Dias, and husband lied. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1608-10-13 and an opening deed issued on 1609-09-22.

Will chart by which Berengária Eanes, widow of Vasco Pereira, former ouvidor do duque de Bragança, bequeaths her moveable properties to her niece Beatriz Lopes de Carvalho and half of her quinta das Roças and of her casal de Ramilha, since the other half of those properties had already been given to her nephew, Álvaro Pereira, according to her husband's will. Followed by the approval deed of the will and the inventory of her properties.
Will chart by which D. Afonso de Castelo Branco, Meirinho-mor do Reino, and his wife, D. Isabel de Castro, established an entail with the third part of their assets, which included houses in Évora, determining that it should be annexed to the entail instituted by D. Guiomar de Noronha ("morgado de Montalvo") and administrated by their eldest son. Therefore, it would be transmitted according to the clauses of its foundation deed. However, if they were unable of bearing a son, their entail would not be attached to the one founded by Guiomar de Noronha. Instead it would be administrated by the institutor's eldest daughter, D. Maria de Castro, and her husband, D. Garcia de Meneses, and transmitted to their descendants. They also incorporated a tapestry in their entail and a rent (foro) of wheat taken from a property in Serpa to Guiomar de Noronha's entail, which they administrated. They declared that their bodies would be buried in the main chapel of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Moura. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1556-08-25.
Will chart by which Isabel Eanes entails her houses in Cangosta, Porto, with an obligation of 20 annual masses for her soul in the convent of S. Domingos do Porto, where she wishes to be buried. Will chart of Violante Cabral, widow of Manuel Rodrigues, expressing her wish to be buried in the convent of S. Francisco of Ponta Delgada. She bequeaths a land in Ponta Delgada to her sister, Antónia Travassos, with pious obligations which, after her sister's death, shall pass to the Misericórdia of that city. She also bequeaths her a vineyard with the obligation of ordering five annual masses, which shall pass to her son and to his successors, after his death. If he dies without children it too shall pass to the Misericórdia. She bequeaths farmlands in the parish of Sete Cidades to her sister-in-law, Ana Fernandes, widow, to pass to one of her children, with the perpetual obligation of ordering five annual masses for her soul either in the chapel of São João of the Misericórdia of Ponta Delgada or in the convent of S. Francisco. She bequeaths her step-mother, Catarina Dinis, a land in Lagoa, with the obligation of ordering an annual mass for her and her father's souls. After Catarina Dinis' death, it shall pass to Amador Travassos, Violante's cousin, and afterwards to his descendants, with the same obligation. She also bequeaths the house in Ponta Delgada where Gabriel Coelho lives to his daughters, Catarina Coelho and Isabel Correia, with the obligation of ordering a chapel of masses for her son's soul in the chapel of São João of the Misericórdia, where he was buried. After their deaths it shall pass to the Misericórdia of Ponta Delgada, with the same obligation. Will approved in 1587-06-13 and opened in 1590-01-16.
Will chart of Francisca de Sampaio Borges, ordering her grave in the main chapel of the church of Espírito Santo of Estremoz. She institutes a chapel, entailing all of her assets, fulfilling her legacies, and appoints Catarina de Sampaio Borges, her niece, first administrator. Charges were celebrated wherever the administrator wanted and the successor would be the son she chose. She also orders that her immovable property be attached to the chapel that the licenciado Luís Lobo de Sampaio, her nephew, wanted to establish.
Will chart made by Maria Velha de Melo in which she ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual obligation of three masses celebrated every year by Christmas Eve on the hermitage of N. Sra. do Desterro and a chapel of masses, with a perpetual weekly mass, in the chapel of S. André founded by her father, Cristóvão Vaz Velho, in Santa Maria island. Her body should be buried, however, in the chapel of S. Vicente, in the church of S. Miguel Arcanjo of Vila Franca do Campo. She named her son Simão de Sousa Raposo, priest, to administrate the entail during his lifetime, and after his death the administration should be given to her nephew Francisco de Arruda, also priest. After the death of Francisco, the administration should be given to his brother João de Arruda, who would be succeeded by one of his children, appointed by him before his death.
Will chart of D. Maria Vieira bequeathing her available portion to her son, Francisco de Bettencourt, with the pious obligation of two perpetual annual prayed masses. She appoints as her executor her husband, who will enjoy her available portion until his death. Will approved in 1592-07-23.
Will chart of Maria Cardoso de Oliveira. She administers an hermitage dedicated to Santa Luzia, which she had built with Duarte Fernandes, her deceased husband, where she wanted to be buried. She appoints Santa Luzia as her universal heir and appoints Diogo Gil Fagundes, her nephew, executor.
Will chart of António de Faria Leal. Establishes an entail, entailing assets to fulfill charges. He appoints D. Francisco de Sá, son of D. Francisco Bettencourt and Sá, first administrator. The administrator would be the same one who administered the entail of the Saraiva's farm, which had been left by Francisco Bettencourt Correia.
Will chart of Pedro Vaz, establishing a chapel in the church of Nossa Senhora da Alva, in Aljezur, where he wants to be buried. He entails certain properties to fulfill the charges and appoints Gaspar Vaz, his son and executor, as the first administrator. Susana Botelho, his granddaughter, daughter of Vicente Botelho, who is now deceased, is also appointed as administrator, with a third of her assets and charges. If Gaspar Vaz could not administer it, he should pass it to the grandchildren of the institutor, sons of Vicente Botelho. If there were no heirs, he stayed for Nossa Senhora de Alva. The will chart comes from a certificate (dated 1598-06-18), as the respective approval deed (dated 1598-05-25).

He instituted a chapel, located in that church, appointing João Grande, as the first administrator, with his son to succeed him. If the offspring were to be extinguished, he should pass on to that of Martinho Bartolomeu.
Will chart of priest Luís Ramalho da Silva. He instituted an entail, entailing various assets, to fulfill charges. He appoints Maria da Silva and Maria Freire, his nieces, the first administrators. The eldest son of Maria da Silva was to succeed her.
Will chart of Melícia Rodrigues, widow of Bartolomeu Álvares de Paredes, founding a chapel in the church of Nossa Senhora do Loreto, in Lisbon, appointing for its administrator António Álvares de Paredes, who was brought up by her as her son.
Will chart by which Isabel Soares de Sequeira ordered to be buried in the chapel of São Francisco. She established a chapel in Campo Maior, to which she attached several pious obligations that were already being celebrated for the souls of her parents and brothers, and entailed some properties ir order to fulfill the pious charges. She designated Gonçalo de Morais Pereira to be her last will executor and its first administrator and he could nominate the chapel's successor.
Will chart of Lourenço da Costa, ordering his grave in the mother church of the place where he died. He instituted an entail, entailing assets to fulfill the charges. He appoints Álvaro da Costa, his nephew, as administrator, after the death of the institutor and Maria da Costa, his sister, followed by their children. If he died childless, he would stay with Isabel da Costa, his sister. In case of non-compliance, he would remain in the Misericórdia of the place where he was buried.
Will chart by which António Garcia Sarmento establishes a chape. He appoints priest António Álvares Pereira de Sousa, executor and first administrator. He administered another chapel, dedicated to Nossa Senhora do Carmo, in the convent of Santo António dos Capuchos, established by Baltasar da Costa Pereira, whose administration he also left to the same priest.
Will chart by which Maria Freire established an entail, incorporating some houses in order to the fulfil the pious charges in the Church of Benavila, on the outskirts of Avis. She designated Maria, daughter of Manuel Vaz Negrão, to be the first administrator.
Will chart by which Ana de França wanted to be buried in the Church of Santo Antão do Caniço or in the Church of Nossa Senhora do Faial. She established an entail, incorporating some assets in order to fulfil the pious charges. She designated Felícia de França and her husband Lourenço Mendes to be its first administrators. Their daughter Paula and her heirs should succeed them.
Will chart of Pedro Eanes do Canto founding, among other dispositions, two entails, one for his son António Pires, born of his first marriage with Joana da Barca, and the other for his son João da Silva, born of his second marriage with Violante da Silva. For the first entail he entailed several properties in the islands of São Jorge, Pico and Faial, and a estate named Quinta de São Pedro, with a perpetual mass obligation of a weekly mass in the church of N. Sra. de Nazaré built on the same state, where a monument in his homenage should be built declaring that he participated on the battles of Arzila, Azamor, Afnul, Benegisna, in Persia and Almedina. For the second entail he entailed several properties in Terceira island, in Cabo da Praia, mount Brasil and a state in Lajes, also with a perpetual mass obligation with a weekly mass preached on the chapel of Jesus, that he was building in the main church of Angra. Both the entails had identical obligations, and António Pires should choose which one he would have, and João da Silva should have the other one. Both should be succeeded by their eldest sons, preferably male, and each administrator should annex 2/3 of his own reserved portion (terça) to the entail. The administrators should also use the surname "do Canto" or lose the administration. He also appoints Francisco da Silva, his illegitimate son, to succeed him on the administration of the chapel founded by Vasco Afonso, vicar of Machico, island of Madeira.
Will made by Pedro Jorge in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual obligation of two masses celebrated every week in the church of São Sebastião, in Ponta Delgada, or in the chapel that he wished to build, devoted to Jesus Christ. He named their son Jerónimo Jorge as first administrator and after his death, the administration should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir, or the closest relative if any administrator died without heirs. He also ordered that the administrator should always give two shirts worth 30 réis to two indigents by Christmas.
Will chart of Jácome Dias and Beatriz Rodrigues Raposo, his wife, founding a chapel of four weekly prayed masses in the chapel of Rui Vaz, their father-in-law and father, and appointing their son, Barão Jácome as its administrator. They also order to clarify who is the administrator of the chapel of Rui Vaz, they or their son, Jordão Jácome, who claims this chapel's administration. Will approved in 1532-12-14 and opened in 1540-11-20.
Will chart of Manuel Silveiro Ferreira and Luísa da Ponte, his wife, ordering their grave in the convent of São Francisco of Estremoz. They instituted a chapel, entailing a third of their assets, after completing the legacies, to fulfill the charges, celebrated in that convent. They appoint whoever survives them as first administrator, with the power to appoint the successor, that must belong to his lineage. The administrator had to made tombo the assets and register the will chart in the "Livro das Capelas do Convento" and in the Provedoria.
Will chart by which Jorge de Sousa Mascarenhas declared that he was married to the institutor's daughter, D. Úrsula Maria, who designated him to be the chapel's administrator. He designated his cousin Jerónimo da Silva Azevedo, to be its administrator after his death. Jorge de Sousa Mascarenhas also declared that he murdered his wife D. Úrsula Maria under the suspicion of being betrayed by her, which he discovered later it was not true. Finally, he declared that his wife made him a donation of all her father's assets, namely a farm and houses in Lisboa, with the obligation to celebrate masses, and that he wanted to incorporate into the chapel of his father-in-law a public debt instrument of 20 000 réis in Mesa da Imposição dos Vinhos.
Will chart of Diogo Dias and Margarida Conqueiro, his wife, ordering the placement of some lace on the tombo of Rui Valente's chapel. They appoint the one who survives as executor. They appoint their son Francisco as administrator of Rui Valente's chapel.
Will chart of João Vieira Matoso. Establishes an entail, entailing assets, including a relic of Saint Francis Xavier and a chapel, located in the church of Cotovia. He designates Francisco Vieira Matoso, his son, as first administrator. The succession had to be done in accordance with the “law of regular entails”.

He orders his sepulture in the same grave as Tristão do Vale, his cousin, and appoints Gonçalo Fernandes de Melo, his brother, to the administration of the chapel he had instituted. If the last had already died or could not inherit it, nor had children, the administrator should be searched on the right line of the institutors, in Vermiosa, on the outskirts of Castelo Rodrigo, where the parents of the institutor were born. If they were not found, the administration would remain for Tomé de Gouveia, son of his cousin and cousin of the institutor, or for his poorest son, if he had already passed away. He entailed his land of Combos (or Lombos) to other chapel and hands his administration to Marcos Fernando, his executor, who should appoint a son or daughter to succeed him. If he had not, António Fernandes, his brother, or one of his brothers or nephews should succeed.
Will chart made by Gaspar de Chaves in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with the perpetual obligation of half chapel of masses celebrated in the church of S. Sebastião, in Ponta Delgada, where his body should be buried, next to his parent's grave. He named his wife Beatriz Soares to administrate the entail until his son Manuel Chaves comes of age. After the death of Manuel Chaves, the succession should always continue on the eldest male heir. However, if Manuel had no children, the administration should be given to his nun daughter [whose name is not mentioned] during her life, and after her death his nephew Baltasar and his brother Gaspar. If none had descendants, the administration should be given to the closest relative of the generation of his mother, Madalena Fernandes.
Will chart by which Catarina de Campos, widow of Brás Pires, expresses her wish to be buried in the church of Santíssima Trindade, in the tomb of Jorge Freire. She appoints Briolanja de Vasconcelos, daughter of her executor, Jorge Ferreira, as her universal heir, excluding all her other relatives. She bequeaths her an obligation of masses on the holidays of the Virgin and during Lent in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, for her soul and the soul of her sister, entailed to her properties in Cadafais, which she inherited from her. Followed by approval deed, dated 1583-10-08, and opening deed, dated 1583-10-14.
Will chart made by padre Francisco de Arruda Cabral, in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail composed of his own reserved portion, with a perpetual mass obligation of thirteen masses celebrated every year. He named his father António Favela da Costa as first administrator of the entail and after his death, his brother Manuel Favela. After Manuel Favela, even if he bared heirs, the administration should be transmitted to his nephew André da Ponte who would appoint one of children or brothers to succeed him on the administration.
Will chart of Luís Craveiro, ordering his grave in the monastery of São Francisco de Palhais. He established an entail by entailing all his immovable assets after the legacies had been fulfilled. The pious charges associated to the entail must be celebrated at the altar of Almas of the parish where the administrator lived. He appoints Gaspar do Couto, married to a niece of the institutor, first administrator.
Will chart of Inês Soares, wife of Simão Lourenço, bequeathing her available portion to her offspring and appointing her husband as her executor and asking him to remember her soul. Will approved in 1569-02-15.

Afonso Henriques, to succeed in the administration of her aunt's, Mécia Pestana, properties, after his father's death and appoints both D. Afonso Henriques and D. Gonçalo Henriques to succeed her in her mother's, Isabel Afonso, available portion. Will approved in 1598-06-13 and opened in 1598-06-14.
Will chart of Bento Pacheco da Mota, capitão and sargento-mor of Ribeira Grande, bequeathing his available portion to his son, Paulo Pacheco, with the pious obligation of a perpetual chapel, half of it for his soul and the other half for his wife's, Maria da Rocha, soul. He also bequeaths to his daughter, Isabel de São João, professa in the monastery of Santo André of Vila Franca do Campo, 13 alqueires and a half of land, bequeathed to him by his aunt, Isabel Correia, with the pious obligation of half of a chapel. He bequeaths these alqueires to his daughter with the pious obligation a chapel of masses, half of it for the soul of his aunt, the first institutor, and the other half for his soul. After the death of her daughter, the 13 alqueires and a half of land will return to his available portion's successor. Will approved in 1668-09-11.
Will chart of Isabel Correia bequeathing 13 alqueires of land to her nephew, capitão Bento Pacheco da Mota, with the pious obligation of a half of a chapel of prayed masses, per year, for her soul, in the church of Nossa Senhora da Estrela. Capitão Bento Pacheco da Mota can appoint one of his offsprings as his successor and, after him or her, the land will be transmitted by bloodline. She also bequeaths some houses to Joana Tavares, her niece, with the pious obligation of three perpetual prayed masses, in Christmas day. Her niece can do whatever she wants with the houses. She named her husband, António de Medeiros e Albuquerque as first administrator with the condition that he would appoint one of their three children to succeed him, although the three of them would administrate the entail together during their lifes. The chosen son or daughter would appoint his successor.
Will chart of Margarida Dias founding the chapel of Santo António in the monastery of São Francisco in Lisbon. Her nephew Francisco de Aguiar will have a farm in Portela under the condition of ordering the celebration of masses in the chapel; her niece Guiomar Dias will have the farm of Vale de Alcaide under the same condition; and António, son of Guiomar, will have a "casal" under the same conditions. The three entailed properties will be transmitted in the generation of each administrator. The money that her late husband António de Aguiar has in the Casa da Índia will be applied to the improvement and repairs in the chapel.

However, she nominates her executor, to administer her mother's chapel, which is then left to D. Maria de Vilhena, his wife, and then to one of her children.
Will chart made by Bartolomeu Silveiros, in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of masses celebrated every year in Portalegre. The institutor named Leonor Velez, his wife, as first administrator during her lifetime and, after her death, she would be succeeded by António Vaz, during his lifetime. After his death, he would be succeeded by Francisco, his son, and from there on the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir.

He named the eldest son of Catarina Simoa as first administrator of the entail and after his death the succession should always continue on the eldest male heir.
Will chart by which Cristóvão da Costa, escrivão, expresses his wish to be buried in the chapel of Salvador of the cathedral of Lisboa, where his father, António da Costa, is buried. He appoints his brother, Pedro da Costa, as his heir, and orders him to buy properties with the remaining part of his assets, in order to establish an entail with the obligation of a weekly mass in his burial place. These properties shall then be inherited by his eldest son or, if he doesn't have descendance, by their closest relative. Followed by approval deed, dated from the same day, and opening deed, dated 1528-08-08.
Will chart made by Constança Afonso, widow of Diogo Vaz Cavaleiro in which she ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of two entails. The first one would have a perpetual mass obligation of a weekly mass celebrated in the church of the Misericórdia, in Ponta Delgada, and to administrate it, she named her nephew Afonso Eanes, priest, and his eldest brother after his death, and from there on the entail should follow the ordenações and the legal costums of the Portuguese kingdom. The second entail would be administrated by her daughter Isabel Dias and her descendants after her, with no mass obligation.
Will chart of Pedro Vaz de Castelo Branco, instituting an entail, with head on the Pindo's farm, entailing all the assets he had in Beira, in the municipalities of Penalva, Azurara and Povolide, as well as some houses in Lisboa, to fulfill the charges, celebrated at the altar of Santa Maria Madalena, in the church of Pindo, where he orders his grave. He appoints Pedro Vaz de Castelo Branco, his son, executor, universal heir and administrator of the entail. He mentions a chapel in Lisboa, created by his wife, intending that the succession in the entail he instituted would follow the same principles as that chapel, since both would remain with his son.

He appoints Leonarda de Castelo Branco, his wife, universal heiress, and Manuel de Vilhegas, executor. Followed by the respective approval deed (dated 1649-10-16) and four codicils and respective approval deeds (dated 1655-09-04, 1657-12-30 and 1657-02-12).
Will chart of João Soares Ribeiro, ordering his grave in his chapel of Espírito Santo, located in the mother church of Sernancelhe. He established an entail with a third part his assets and the a third part of assets that D. Francisca had left him and appointing Diogo Ribeiro, his son, to administer it. The succession should be done in the same way as his father determines when he entailed a third part of his assets, except for the obligation to reside in Sernancelhe. He entailed half of the land of Ressaio to the entail instituted by his father. He also administered an entail instituted by Cristóvão da Fonseca Ribeiro, his uncle, ordering that the administrator foreseen in the institution be followed. The charges were to be celebrated in the chapel of Nossa Senhora das Neves, in Távora. It follows the respective approval deed (dated 1652-09-27) and the opening deed of a will (dated 1652-10-29).
Will chart made by António Lopes de Faria in which he ordered, among several other dispositions, the foundation of an entail in Vila da Praia with a perpetual obligation of chapel of masses in the hermitage of N. Sra. do Rosário. He appointed his nephew Pedro de Faria as first administrator of the entail and always, preferably, the eldest male heir after him. If Pedro dies without descendants, the administration should be given to António de Faria or the closest relative. He ordered that the administrator should give yearly 1 000 cruzados to the Confraria de Nossa Senhora do Rosário and 10 cruzados to his poorest relatives. He ordered that all the administrators should bear the surname "Faria" or otherwise lose the administration. Finally, he recommended that his nephews should always nourish friendship between them and with the people of Lagoa, conserving the manners of the land and not those of their original lan, Vila do Conde. He also mentioned that his father founded a chapel in Vila do Conde and therefore the administrator of this newly founded entail should administrate both of them.
Will chart made by António Lopes de Faria in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual obligation of 26 masses celebrated yearly for his soul and for the soul of his deceased wife Ana de Pimentel. He named his daughter Maria de Pimentel as first administrator and before her death she would choose one of her brothers or nephews to succeed her. He also appointed her as administrator of the entail founded by his uncle António de Faria.
Will chart of Damião Dias Magro, ordering his grave in the cathedral of Évora, if he died in the city, or in the church of Misericórdia of Alvito, if he died in that place. He institutes a chapel in the church of Misericórdia of Alvito, entailing assets to fulfill the charges. He appoints Tomás, son of Maria Magro, his niece, as administrator, if he were a clergyman. The administrators were supposed to be clerics, descendants of Maria Magro, excluding, however, Damião Dias Magro and Pedro de Lemos. If the descendants were extinguished, the administration would fall to the deão of the cathedral of Évora. It follows respective approval deed (dated 1611-01-18).

Will chart by which D. Isabel Lobo, widow, expresses her wish to be buried in the convent of S. Francisco de Xabregas. She establishes a chapel with a daily mass in that convent, entailing to it two properties in Montemor-o-Novo. She bequeaths them, with other properties and money, to her criada, Rufina de Monsalva, and to her criada's husband, Simão de Évora, her feitor. Followed by approval deed and opening deed, dated 1577-11-19.
Will chart by which Martinho Ferreira, Escudeiro da Casa do Rei, and his wife, Violante Lourenço, establish an entail with all their assets, including houses in Lisboa and the farmstead (quinta) of Malapados. After the death of one of them, the spouse who survives should administer it and assure, each year, the preparation of two feasts for 24 poor people, which must happen on Holy Thursday and on Pentecost. They declare that their bodies should be buried in the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1468-05-19 and an opening deed issued on 1469-01-18.
Will chart by which Vasco Lourenço, mercador, and Isabel Afonso, his wife, establish a shelter for poor people in the houses they own in Lisboa. They entail to it lands (casais) in Sintra, Cascais and Olivais, whose revenues should also support the celebration of annual masses in the church of S. Nicolau of Lisboa, where their bodies would be buried. After the death of one of the members of the couple, the surviving one should become the shelter's administrator, passing it to Estêvão Pires, alfaiate. He is bound to transmit it to his eldest son. He mentions that he has a land entailed to the chapel of Beatriz da Costa, his cousin, which will be administrated after his death by the daughter of Beatriz da Costa and her offspring. Will approved in 1606-08-25 and opened in 1606-09-01.

Will chart of Padre Simão Pereira Sarmento founding an entail and two chapels of masses in the church of Santíssima Trindade, in Lajes do Pico, appointing Simão Pereira da Câmara, his nephew, as his successor and administrator or Diogo Pires, if the first one is absent or dead at the time of his own death. He also appoints Simão Pereira da Câmara, or Diogo Pires, instead, as administrator of the chapel of André Rodrigues, his grandfather, clarifying the succession clauses of this chapel. Besides, the testator bequeaths some properties he received as payment of a debt of his brother-in-law, Rui Gil da Câmara, to the son-in-law and daughter of the latter, Gaspar Gonçalves Carvalhal and Filipa de Escobar, if her brother is already dead at the time of the testator's death, with the pious obligation of an annual chapel of masses for the souls of his sister, Isidora Pereira, and brother-in-law, Rui Gil da Câmara. Will approved in 1641-03-01. Followed by a declaration, adding some clauses to this will, and approval deed, dated from 1643-01-31.
Will chart through which Henrique Leme establishes a chapel in the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa, appointing Ana Leme, his sister, to be its first administrator. He orders his sister to sell part of his patrimony and to use the profit to buy properties to incorporate in that entail. He chooses to be buried in the altar of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, in the church of that convent. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1521-09-20.

He appoints for administrator his friend Pedro Domingues, abade de Santo Estêvão de Geraz, who will celebrate the masses, and will appoint his successor that must be a clergyman of his lineage. The executor will be Gonçalo Fernandes.

They declare they had signed a contract, in 1604-03-26, with the provedor of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Azurara, reserving the income from several properties for the construction of the chancel of that church and hospital expenses. They now entail those properties as a chapel and appoint Maria Tomé, as the first administrator. A daughter was to succeed her, with females taking precedence in administration. They institute another entail with properties located in the outskirts of Prado which shall be used to purchase olive oil and wax for the Santíssimo Sacramento of the convent of São Francisco of Azurara. They appoint Maria Carneiro as the first administrator, to be succeeded by her daughter, Ana. They also institute a chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora, on the altar of Piedade in the Convent of São Francisco de Azurara, and appoint Justa as the first administrator, to be succeded by one of her children.
Will chart by which Jerónimo Vieira da Maia and his wife Isabel wanted to be buried in the convent of Santo António Extramuros, in Évora. The couple bequest all their assets to each other, after the legacies have been fulfilled. After the death of Jerónimo Vieira da Maia, the assets of D. Isabel should be entailed to a chapel, for the fulfillment of the pious charges in the church of São Mamede of Évora and should be administrated by her nephew Pedro Simões and by his eldest son afterwards. After the death of D. Isabel, half of the assets of Jerónimo Vieira da Maia, valued at 35 000 réis, should be entailed to the chapel in the church of São Mamede of Évora, and should be administrated by Águeda, daughter of Sebastião Fernandes and Isabel Mendes, "criada" , and then by her eldest son.

She also bequeathed to her cousin Mécia Cardoso, wife of Manuel de Beça, a public debt instrument, establishing another entail.

Will chart by which the priest Domingos Fernandes wanted to be buried in the church of São João das Lampas, in his parents' grave. He incorporated several immovable goods for the fulfillment of charges in that church. The institutor designated his nephew Domingos Batista to be its first administrator and the following administrator should be his son. He also left to Pedro Fernandes and his wife Francisca Fernandes with the same conditions as the previous ones, and their daughter Maria should succeed them.

He entails two vineyards and a few houses to create an albergue for pilgrims in the village of Freixo, on the outskirts of Sesimbra, and appoints António Álvares, his son, as first administrator. This one had to appoint the son or grandson that he wanted to succeed him.
