Contract and bond deed

Contract and bond deed for the celebration of masses between the priests of the College of São Pedro of Coimbra and Manuel Machado, in the chapel that, with Brásia de Macedo, his second wife, he had established in the church of that College. Both they, and their heirs, could be buried in this chapel, having to pay 6 000 réis a year for fulfill their charges. They entail some houses, located on Lagareiros' street , also undertake to decorate the chapel and provide it with the necessary liturgical utensils.
Contains a consent deed inserted of Brásia de Macedo (dated 1678-09-15).

Chapel foundation deed

Chapel foundation deed of the chapel of São José, instituted by Manuel Machado and Brásia de Macedo, his second wife, at the College of São Pedro of Coimbra, where the founders and their families were to be buried. The remains of Marta Correia, the founder's first wife, were also to be buried there. The contract, signed between the religionists of the College and Manuel Machado, included the celebration of a daily mass, for the payment of 500.000 réis, already delivered, and for a public debt instrument of the same amount.
