Scope and content
Tombo (extract) of the chapel of João Salema, in which it is explained that he requested a chapel with daily masses, half in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, and another half in the convent of Santíssima Trindade, which he entailed to his third part. He also established another entail, with the third parts of his father-in-law, Francisco de Almeida, and his wife, which he bequeathed first to his daughters D. Joana and D. Antónia, nuns in Santa Clara, and after their deaths to his other daughter, D. Lourença Salema, and her descendants, with the same obligation of masses in the convents of S. Francisco de Lisboa and Santíssima Trindade. He is said to have died in 1646-07-11, when the masses started to be prayed. The chapel was currently administered by Fernando de Miranda Henriques, who also had the administration of the chapel of Brás Salema. The obligations were paid until 1680.
