Will (extract) by which Martinho Gonçalves do Souto ordered the executors of his will to buy a chapel in a church or convent of their choice, determining that 2 perpetual daily masses had to be celebrated there for his soul and for the soul of his wife, Beatriz Maria. He entailed to that chapel 2 public debt instruments of 200 000 réis in Estanco do Tabaco and 40 000 réis in Mesa dos Azeites. He designated his wife, Beatriz Maria, to administrate the entail. After her death, she would be succeeded by Francisco Gomes Moniz, his nephew.
