Afterwards, the entail will be bequeathed to the closest relative of her lineage, which, at the time, was João Serrão da Cunha, son of Ana de Bendanha.

Maria de Melo, ten for Catarina da Horta, his friend, ten for his current wife, D. Jerónima Ferraz, and the remaining ones for his own soul. He appoints his wife as the entail's first administrator. After her death, it shall be bequeathed to his cousin, Francisco de Távora, or to Manuel Godinho de Faria, if Francisco de Távora has already died or is absent from the kingdom. After their deaths, the chapel shall be bequeathed to a grandson of Álvaro Gastão, Francisco Gastão's brother, and to his descendats afterwards. If the lineage is extinguished or the administrators don't comply with the obligations for two years, the chapel shall be bequeathed to the closest relative of Francisco Gastão, with the exception of the descendants of Rui Gomes da Costa.

He ordered his successors to use part of its income to support, each year, the marriage of an orphan girl, before which a mass should be celebrated for his soul. He appoints his eldest son, Francisco de Melo, as the entail's first administrator. He chooses to be buried in the grave he had in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa, where the mortal remains of his descendants should thenceforth be interred.
The entail's succession would be conditioned by the same clauses that his father and grandfather had formulated when they had established their entails.

Carta de título (f. 4-10) emitida em 1619-10-27, pelo Juízo Ordinário do Cível e Crime da cidade do Funchal.
ENCARGOS (ANUAIS): quatro missas rezadas na semana de Finados, celebradas no convento de São Francisco do Funchal.
BENS DO VÍNCULO: terça de todos os bens que possuía ou ao diante tivesse, que tomou nos seguintes itens: i) serrado do Pedregal, que herdara de sua filha Isabel de Ornelas, o qual lhe fora atribuído nas partilhas de sua mãe; ii) terras na Ilha do Porto Santo, no Campo da Eira, para cima, partindo pelo caminho do Concelho até entestar com Custódio Teixeira, que herdara de seus pais; iii) escravo chamado André para serviço da filha. Caso fosse necessário completar a terça ou, pelo contrário, abater, os ajustes far-se-iam nas terras do Porto Santo. Estes bens vinculados nunca se poderiam vender, nem alhear. This entail shall always be administered by their closest relatives. If there are clergymen in the family, they shall have precedence over other descendants. If her nephew, padre Afonso de Sousa, is still alive at the time of her husband's death, he shall inherit everything.
Followed by a summary of a deed of sale by which Afonso de Sousa bought houses to entail to the chapel of his aunt, dated 1609-11-22.

During her life she bought the houses, as was proven by some the documents inserted in this account of the administration dated between 1689-10-29 and 1690-12-20.

Will (extract) made by Manuel Fidalgo da Costa and his wife Beatriz da Veiga Spínola, in which they have ordered the foundation of an entail with their lands in Covada, with a perpetual pious obligation of two sung masses, as long as the world lasted, with bread and wine offer over their graves in All Souls Day. They named padre Florêncio da Veiga Escórcio to administrate the entail during his lifetime, and, after his death, the administration would be handled to Helena, his natural daughter. From there on, the succession should always continue, preferably, on the eldest heir. They also asked the Cabido to surveil the fulfillment of this will.

Will (extract) made by Cecília Fernandes in which she ordered the foundation of a chapel composed of farms and fourty enslaved persons, twenty men and twenty women, and a perpetual pious obligation of three sung masses in every year in Christmas, Easter and All Souls Day, and also twenty masses, all of them celebrated as long as the world lasted. To administrate it, she named her grandson Francisco, son of her niece Cecília de Barros, during his lifetime. After the death of Francisco, the succession should always continue on his heirs, or, if he had none, the administration would be transmitted to his brothers or sisters, and if none of them was alive, then the Misericórdia of Cabo Verde would receive the administration. The institutor disposed that if any of the enslaved persons of the chapel died, they should be immediatly replaced with new ones.

Will (extract) made by Isabel Correia Tavares, in which she ordered the foundation of a chapel composed of a farm named Fragoso and twenty five enslaved persons, over which she imposed a perpetual pious obligation of six sung masses every year.She named Pedro Fernandes Alfange and his wife Isabel Correia as first administrators during their lifetimes, and, after their deaths, they would be succeeded by their eldest heir, male or female. If they died without children, the administration would be handled to Maria Tavares with the same condition. The institutor disposed that if any of the entailed slaves died, they should be replaced for another one, in order to always maintain twenty five serving on the chapel.

Followed by several cartas de arrematação, autos de arrematação and acquisition deeds dated from 1668-02-10 to 1694-11-30 by which Francisco de Almeida da Silva, fidalgo da Casa do Rei, and, afterwards, Luís Cid de Oliveira, acquire properties in Moura, which don't mention the entail.

From the money she left, he thus bequeaths 8 000 cruzados to this daughter Isabel and 12 000 cruzados to his son Duarte de Castro do Rio, to found two entails. If their lineages are extinguished these entails shall be annexed to the entail he founded for his eldest son, Martinho de Castro do Rio, with the same conditions.
