Afterwards, the entail will be bequeathed to the closest relative of her lineage, which, at the time, was João Serrão da Cunha, son of Ana de Bendanha.

Will (extract) by which Luísa Franca demands to be buried in the cloister of the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, in the burial place of her father, João Franco. She establishes an entail with the revenue of her houses in Lisboa, which she bequeaths to her heiress, with the obligation of 80 annual masses in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. Her heiress will have the faculty of appointing the next administrator. If she doesn't appoint anyone, the entail shall pass to the eldest child of her niece, D. Ana Barbosa. Followed by a note expaining that the heiress of the entail was Maria Pinheiro de Miranda, Luísa Franca's niece.

Will (extract) by which Guiomar da Póvoa appoints her stepdaughter, D. Luísa da Veiga, daughter of her husband, Jerónimo da Veiga, as her universal heir. Will (extract) by which Garcia de Melo, D. Margarida de Castro's husband, establishes an entail with the third part of the couple's assets, including a public debt instrument of 100 000 réis. He ordered his successors to use part of its income to support, each year, the marriage of an orphan girl, before which a mass should be celebrated for his soul. He appoints his eldest son, Francisco de Melo, as the entail's first administrator. He chooses to be buried in the grave he had in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa, where the mortal remains of his descendants should thenceforth be interred.
The entail's succession would be conditioned by the same clauses that his father and grandfather had formulated when they had established their entails.

ENCARGOS (ANUAIS): quatro missas rezadas na semana de Finados, celebradas no convento de São Francisco do Funchal.
BENS DO VÍNCULO: terça de todos os bens que possuía ou ao diante tivesse, que tomou nos seguintes itens: i) serrado do Pedregal, que herdara de sua filha Isabel de Ornelas, o qual lhe fora atribuído nas partilhas de sua mãe; ii) terras na Ilha do Porto Santo, no Campo da Eira, para cima, partindo pelo caminho do Concelho até entestar com Custódio Teixeira, que herdara de seus pais; iii) escravo chamado André para serviço da filha. Caso fosse necessário completar a terça ou, pelo contrário, abater, os ajustes far-se-iam nas terras do Porto Santo. Estes bens vinculados nunca se poderiam vender, nem alhear. Coube à terça 209$276 réis (f. 7 v.º), mas não consta quais os bens destacados à mesma.
O despacho do juiz dos Resíduos, de 1785-09-17 (f. 69), ordena que o administrador apresente o tombo dos bens desta capela ou certidão do que foi adjudicado à terça da instituidora, sob pena de sequestro, mas tal determinação não foi cumprida.
SUCESSÃO: nomeia a filha Beatriz de Vasconcelos e seus descendentes; não tendo herdeiros forçosos ficaria a Mendo de Ornelas, neto do instituidor e filho de Álvaro de Ornelas; não tendo ele filho legítimo ficaria a outro filho do dito Álvaro de Ornelas, sempre ao mais velho «e andaria sempre ha dita tersa na desendensia do primeiro nomeado e hem falta de macho erdaria ha femea» (f. 5).
ADMINISTRADOR/PRESTADOR DE CONTAS em 1621-11-28, data da primeira quitação (f. 12): o filho Álvaro de Ornelas de Vasconcelos, capitão de infantaria (vd. F. 19). Sucede o neto do instituidor, Mendo de Andrade de Vasconcelos, que em 1642 já presta contas (f. 33 v.º). Destes autos de contas, verificamos que a primeira nomeada não presta contas dos encargos.

This entail shall always be administered by their closest relatives. If there are clergymen in the family, they shall have precedence over other descendants. If her nephew, padre Afonso de Sousa, is still alive at the time of her husband's death, he shall inherit everything.
