Will (extract) by which Violante de Castro appoints her niece, Jerónima de Castro, as her universal heir, with the obligation of ordering a weekly mass for her soul in the convent of S. Francisco de Xabregas, where she wishes to be buried, and a Requiem mass in the church of Santo Espírito of Bucelas. If Jerónima de Castro dies without heirs, the entail shall pass to her brother, Tristão Vaz de Castro, and to his descendants, or to her sister, Leonor de Castro, and her descendants. Part of the properties entailed are leases in Arranhó.

The latter is allowed to appoint one of their children to be the chapel's next administrator. The testator declares that her mother had left her those houses with the obligation of celebrating 20 annual masses for her soul as long as she lived.

He bequeaths three quarters of his engine in Baía de Todos-os-Santos to António Gomes do Alemo, with the obligation of one daily mass in his chapel of Santo Ângelo, in the monastery of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa. If he dies before his grandfather, the entail shall pass to his father and siblings, or, if they have no descendants, to the lineage of António de Torres. He bequeaths the other quarter of his engine to António de Torres, with an obligation of five annual masses in the same chapel and the same clauses of succession as the other entail. After four years, António Gomes do Alemo shall use the revenue of his entail to buy the part of the engine belonging to António de Torres and annex it to his entail. António de Torres shall buy properties to entail in its place with the revenue from this sale. If both their lineages are extinguished, the sucession shall be by appointment.

They bequeath it to their eldest daughter, D. Violante, and to her successors. They also order the keeping of 120 000 réis of interest, which shall be given to their other daughter, D. Beatriz, for her marriage. Another entail can be established for her with this interest, if their son, Luís de Brito, wishes to also give money to her. It shall have the obligation of two annual masses in their chapel. If D. Beatriz doesn't have heirs, her entail can be annexed to the one given to her sister. If D. Violante's lineage is extinguished, her entail shall pass to the administrator of the entail of Estêvão de Brito Freire.

The testator established another entail with houses in the parish of S. Miguel of that city, designating Mécia Fernandes, her criada, to administrate it. She obligated her and her successors to support the celebration of an annual mass on S. Martinho's day in that church and to light a candle every Holy Thursday. If her nephew died childless, it should succeed her niece Luísa Cardoso and her heirs. The institutor also established that her nephew Francisco Cardoso de Montalvo should sell leased propriety in order to buy free holding assets to be incorporated into the entail. She finally established that she wanted to give to her nephew Manuel Cardoso a rent of some assets located in Santarém, with the obligation to take care of his mother and the institutor's sister, and to celebrate masses for the soul of her deceased sisters and parents. Francisco Cardoso de Montalvo could buy this rent (foro) for the value of 200 000 réis. After Manuel Cardoso's death, this propriety should pass to the entail's administrator, Francisco Cardoso de Montalvo.

To ensure the fulfilment of these obligations he entails them to his estate, Quinta da Horta, in Bucelas. The testator notes that his Casal do Carvalhal, located in S. Lourenço de Banho, was already entailed to the obligation of a mass for his father’s soul, as established by his father’s will and which António Vaz Pereira was required to fulfil. The testator states that these properties comprise a third of his assets and will be assigned to his heirs after his death, but always with the specified obligations attached. If the properties are sold, they must be sold with the obligations attached unless their owners reach an agreement with the priests of the convent to release them from these charges.

The testator entailed a store in Rua da Galé to that chapel. He mentioned that he had already established a contract with the priests of that church. Will (extract) by which Beatriz Duarte de Oliveira, Jorge Leitão's widow, ordered the acquisition of a rent (foro) of 4 cântaros of olive oil in order to support the perpetual lighting of a lamp in the chapel of Santíssimo Sacramento of the convent of Nossa Senhora da Rosa of Lisboa. She indicated that her husband had established a chapel in that convent, entailing to it stores in Rua Nova, and asked their daughter, Soror Joana de Jesus, to choose a chaplain to celebrate a perpetual daily mass for his soul.
The testator instituted another chapel in that convent, entailing to it his public debt instruments. She determined that Padre António de Sequeira would be its chaplain and that Jerónimo Leitão, her husband's nephew, would administrate both chapels. He had the obligation to give, each year, 20 000 réis to her daughter, only during her lifetime. After his death, the chapels would be administrated by António, his son, and subsequently transmitted to his descendants.
