Provision

Royal provision naming Pedro de Abreu de Lima and Francisco de Barros Machado as curators of João Cardoso, after his mother D. Inês de Barros, widow of António de Barros Cardoso accused him of dispersing several assets in Baía that were entailed to the entail he administrated, which was founded by his father-in-law Cristóvão de Barros Cardoso. The curators were appointed in order to preserve the entailed assets and prevent the administrator to sell and disperse them even more.

Beatriz Francisca de Lima e Barros, widow of João de Barros Cardoso, administrator of the entail founded by Cristóvão de Barros Cardoso, ordering that an entailed sugar mill and other properties in Baía that were unlawfully sold by her husband to Nicolau Alves Figueira should be again seized, regardless of any appeal made by Nicolau Alves Figueira, who avoided the first seizure order, issued in 1676, after presenting a motion.
