These assets had already been given or promised to them as a marriage dowry.

The successors were to be elected by the vigário of the church of Santa Cruz, the prior of the monastery of São Domingos and the guardião of the monastery of São Francisco.

He is bound to incorporate in it all her remaining assets, maintaining a chaplain who would celebrate annual masses for the institutor's soul and delivering, each year, bread, candles and alms for the poor to the cathedral of that city in memory of her late husband. The testator's body shall be buried in the church of S. Nicolau. Followed by a list of entailed assets.

Vicente of the church of S. Miguel of Aveiro. The testator confirmed the entailment of properties to that chapel made by his grandfather, Lopo Álvares, and determined that the entail's administration should preferably be delivered to the eldest son of his successors. He left a rent (foro) of 2 000 réis and 2 capons to his sister, Joana Ferreira, which was paid by a castilian who resided in Aveiro. After her death it had to be entailed to the chapel. His body would be buried in the chapel of S. Vicente, where his parents lied.

While that patrimony could not be employed in that manner, the revenues of her houses located on Rua das Arcas would fund that pious obligation.

Luísa de Matos, wife of Martinho Vaz de Azevedo, bequeaths a vineyard in Lumiar to her nephew, Fernando de Matos de Carvalhosa, and her quinta da Ameixoeira to her niece, D. Isabel da Veiga, and establishes a chapel of three masses in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, entailed to an interest in Casa da Índia. These properties shall be united in an entail by the marriage of Fernando and D. Isabel, and will be inherited by their descendants, who will have to use the surname Veiga. Quinta da Ameixoeira is entailed to a chapel of two annual masses in the church of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação of Ameixoeira, one of them for the soul of Luísa de Matos's mother, who bequeathed these properties to her daughter with this obligation.

Extract of Gonçalo Pacheco's will, instituting an entail with the obligation of a weekly mass. As administrator, Gonçalo appointed his son Paulo Pacheco Bravo, to be followed by his offspring. If he didn't had children, he could appoint another successor, or leave to entail to be administrated by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia.

She chooses to be buried in the chapel of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, in the church of that convent, where already lied her daughter, Bárbara da Costa.

Will (extract) by which D. Mariana de Paiva bequeaths 32 800 reis of interest in the Casa dos Escravos to her niece and goddaughter, D. Mariana Salema, daughter of the desembargador dos Agravos Diogo Fernandes Salema, and her descendants afterwards. She establishes an obligation of twelve annual masses, one each month, in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. She also bequeaths her niece 40 alqueires of foros in Torres Vedras with the obligation of five other masses. If D. Mariana Salema has already died at the time of her aunt's death, or doesn't have any children, the entail shall be given to one of her siblings. If their lineage is extinguished, the entail shall be annexed to her chapel of S. Romão with the same obligation.

Will (extract) by which João Pinto, administrator of Rodrigo Fernandes de Évora's entail, incorporates in it lands he owned in Loures, adding the pious obligation of celebrating 20 annual masses for his soul. Since the properties of Évora, belonging to the entail, were in a ruinous state, he asks his son, Miguel Pinto, in case he chooses to sell them, to buy other properties in the outskirts of Lisboa with the purpose of entailing them to it.

Will (extract) by which João Fernandes, pedreiro, and his wife, Catarina Álvares, bequeath their houses in Lisboa to André Vaz, Catarina Fernandes' husband, João's niece, ordering him to sell them and to buy, with the sale's profit, a property in that city or in its outskirts. André was subsequently obligated to employ part of its revenues to support the celebration of masses for the soul of the institutors in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. If André died before fulfilling the testators' wishes, his eldest son should be obligated to do it.
