Sale, quittance, subrogation and obligation deed by which Manuel Correia and his wife Maria Zuzarte, daughter of the institutor Beatriz Gomes, sold their houses located in Alverca that were obligated to the celebration of masses in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Purificação de Bucelas. They incorporated land and an olive grove instead, also located in Alverca, in order to fulfil the chapel's obligations. This document was preceded by a procuration deed dated 1648-08-17, and followed by an Alvará dated 1652-12-05 confirming the subrogation.

For this acquisition he uses the revenue from the sale of his sugar mill of Santo Estêvão in Salvador da Baía, which had belonged to his entail, but which he had sold, according to the stipulations of his grandparents' will.

Diogo Álvares Ramires is the administrator of the chapel established by his uncle, Ramiro Álvares, in the church of Anunciada of Lisboa. The public debt instrument he sold was made with money redeemed from another public debt instrument which was entailed to this chapel and to an obligation of a weekly mass for the souls of Diogo's parents: Maria de Cordovil de Sousa and Luís Álvares Ramires.

Sale, quittance, and obligation deed in which Jácome Gomes Galego sells the Quinta da Horta to Pedro João, cortidor. Jácome Gomes makes the sale as the tutor of António Vaz Pereira’s minor daughters, Eugénia de Jesus and Joana Paixão, who entered the convent of Santa Clara de Lisboa. The property was entailed to the pious charges established by their father and belonged in shares to Eugénia, who had to compensate her sister for it. Their tutor asked for permission to sell the Quinta da Horta to satisfy the dowries of these two sisters and received a provision from the Desembargo do Paço. All the clauses of the sale and the payment of the property, including the pious obligations, are detailed. It inserts an extract of the institutor's will and other documents related to this property’s possession and sale.

Filipe Borges de Rebelo has a royal licence to sell these properties, which were entailed, and promises to buy properties of the same value, in the district of Bragança, where he lives, to subrogate and annex to his entail.

This property was intended to be integrated into the entail founded by Tomé Álvares, Belchior Álvares’ uncle. The clauses of the purchase are detailed. The document contains letters-of-attorney and other documents related to the previous possession and partition of this asset by Simão Lopes Francisco’s heirs. Followed by a letter of possession of this property by Pedro Barreto, on behalf of Belchior Álvares (dated 1638-12-10).

Bernardo do mosteiro de Nossa Senhora do Desterro, heir and executor of his deceased aunt, D. Margarida Forjaz, daughter of capitão António Barroso. Following the will of his aunt, dated 1690-10-06, frei Fradique Spínola entails these farmlands to the chapel established by António Barroso, thus replacing the houses previously entailed by the institutor, which had been sold by D. Margarida because they were ruined.

Followed by a sentence in which the two vineyards are entailed, dated 1685-07-21.

Catarina de Góis sells to D. Joana da Ponte a lease of 30 000 reis on quinta da Burça, in Alenquer, which D. Joana entails to the chapel administered by her son in place of houses in Lisboa she had detached from the entail and sold to buy new and better properties, with authorization of the king.

Lourenço da Silva Pereira promises to fulfill the obligation of 2 000 reis of masses in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa.

Sale warrant to João Mendes, administrator of Maria Lopes' chapel, allowing him the sale of some ruined houses entailed to the chapel, located on Rua Direita, in Covilhã, to Manuel Lopes Henriques, for 17 000 réis and the charge of rebuilding them and ensuring the celebration of four masses a year. This sale was made because the administrator was very poor and could not ensure that.

The buyers committed themselves to fulfill the pious obligations instituted by the entail's institutor.

The Cabido allowed the burial of the remains of Martinho Gonçalves do Souto, his wife and future administrators of the entail in that chapel.

Álvaro Pereira de Quadros binds these houses to the entail in place of the houses Antónia Teixeira had bequeathed him, which he had sold because they were damaged.

Sale and bond deed by which Luísa Vieira, widow of Cristóvão de Carvalho Travassos and administrator of the chapel established by her aunt, Luísa da Costa Pereira, in the convent of S. Domingos de Benfica, Lisboa, sells an olive grove in Benfica, which had been entailed to her aunt's chapel, to João Soeiro, contador dos Contos do Reino. She had obtained an authorization to sell this olive grove since it didn't produce enough revenue to fulfill the obligations entailed to it, under the condition that, with the revenue from the sale, she would buy new properties to entail.

Sale and bond deed by which Gonçalo Vieira, partidor dos Órfãos, and his wife, Maria Peres, sell to Gonçalo Dias, capelão e cantor do rei, the houses in Lisboa which had belonged to padre Luís Piteira, capelão do rei. Luís Piteira had donated them to Margarida Lobo, who had been married to António Vieira, escrivão dos Órfãos, father of Gonçalo Vieira, with the obligation of an annual mass. They sell the houses with this obligation.

Sale and bond deed by which Diogo Álvares, Escudeiro do Conde de Tarouca, sells the farmstead (quinta) of Fermozinha in Fonte Coberta, Lisboa, to João Fialho, Contador da Casa do Rei, for 70 000 réis, with the obligation of using part of its revenues to celebrate 50 annual masses for the soul of Pedro Rodrigues de Castro in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. In 1508-08-29, Catarina Fernandes Ribeiro, Diogo Álvares' wife, approved this sale on behalf of the buyer.

Cristóvão da Costa Freire sells to Sebastião da Costa some properties in Lisboa which belonged to the entail of Santa Catarina, because they were too far away from its remaining properties, hindering the charging of their revenue. He subrogates them for properties in Alpedrinha and Castelo Novo, Fundão.
One of the properties sold to Sebastião da Costa had an obligaton of a payment to the church of Santo Elói of Lisboa.

Sale and bond deed by which D. João Luís de Vasconcelos and D. Maria de Noronha, his wife, represented by Gaspar Pinheiro, employed the third part of Maria da Maia de Lemos' assets, 37 000 réis, to buy a rent (foro) of 1 850 réis in a vineyard in Corredoura, Arruda dos Vinhos, which would be entailed to the chapel established by the deceased. D. Maria de Noronha was the daughter of one of the executors of Maria da Maia de Lemos' will, Fernando Álvares Cabral, the testator's son-in-law. Since Fernando died without fulfilling his obligations, the Provedor dos Resíduos forced his heirs to do it. Contains a copy of a letter of attorney issued on 1628-11-19 and a certificate concerning the validity of the signatures issued on 1629-01-29.

She promises they shall have the administation of her chapel if her lineage is extinguished. The brothers of the irmandade accept the sale and the obligations.

He is obligated to celebrate masses in the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça, in Lisboa. Preceded by a dowry contract by which the institutor's parents donated her these houses in 1623-05-22.

Sale and bond deed by which Jerónimo Franco, capelão do Rei, tesoureiro of the chapel of the archbishop of Lisboa, as executor of padre Tristão Álvares, deceased, who had been capelão of the same archbishop and quaternário of the cathedral of Lisboa, buys two houses in Lisboa from Fernando Cardoso and his wife, Ana Pais. He thus fulfills the obligation of buying 2 000 reais of censos to entail to six annual masses established in Tristão Álvares's will. He gives these houses to Catarina Mendes, niece and heir of the institutor, wife of Domingos da Silva, who accepts them and promises, in her name and the name of her successors, to fulfill the obligations established in her uncle's will.

Sale and bond deed by which the priests of the convent of S. Bento de Xabregas sell to D. Maria da Silva, represented by her son and heir D. João de Meneses, a chapel in the crossing of their church, which shall serve as their family's pantheon, and to where the body of her deceased husband, D. Diogo de Meneses, will be transferred. D. João de Meneses declares he will be the first administrator of the chapel, and establishes, in his mother's name, a daily mass for his relatives' souls, to which he entails a public debt instrument worth 35 000 réis, set in the Alfândega de Lisboa. D. João also donates to the priests the chapel of the evocation of Espírito Santo, located in the old church of the convent, of which he and his wife, D. Madalena de Távora, were successors, renouncing his rights to it.

Sale and bond deed by which Vicente Machado, moço de Câmara do Rei, and his wife, Maria Figueiroa de Mesquita, sell 1 200 réis of revenue from houses in Lisboa to Dinis Eanes and Lopo Serrão, executors of doutor Gaspar Serrão, which they entail to the obligation of two anniversaries he established in the church of Santo Estêvão de Alfama. Dinis Eanes and Lopo Serrão promise to make the payment annually to the priests of Santo Estêvão, and to keep the houses with that obligation.
Contains a certificate of partition deed, a petition, and a letter of possession, unrelated to the entail, a certificate of a petition and will (extract) and a certificate of payment of sisa.

Sale and bond deed by which António Simões, serigueiro de chapas, and his wife, Luísa de Almeida, sell a vineyard in Cabeço de Cavaleiros, Alhos Vedros, to doutor Luís de Foios de Sousa, cavaleiro professo da Ordem de Cristo and corregedor da comarca de Tomar, and to Estêvão de Brito de Foios, his brother. They entail it to the chapel established by their mother, D. Mariana de Sousa.
Contains processual documentation regarding the sale, dated from 1660-07-12 to 1660-10-02, including petitions and dispatches, and documentation proving that the vineyard belonged to the sellers.

Sale and bond deed through which D. Catarina Albertim, Lopo Rodrigues' widow, sells to Roque Vaz, Capelão do Rei and Cónego da Sé of the island of S. Tomé, her farmstead (quinta) of Rego, in Lisboa, for 430 000 réis. This farmstead had been bequeathed to D. Catarina by her grandmother, Beatriz Álvares, Pedro Alves' wife, through her codicil, made on 1562-10-21. Inside that property were houses whose revenues were destined to support a pious obligation of 2 annual masses instituted in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. Since those houses were in ruins, D. Catarina demanded that the buyer should buy another property for 40 000 réis, in order to support the aforementioned pious obligation. Followed by a letter of possession issued on 1579-03-13.

Sale and bond deed by which Pedro Vilhescas de Almeida, son of Pedro Vilhescas and Maria de Almeida, buys a lease from António Munhós and his wife, Isabel Gonçalves. He entails this lease to the chapel established by his mother, subrogating the houses in Lisboa which she had previously entailed, and promises to fulfill the obligations of nine annual masses in the holidays of the Virgin.
Contains certificate of livro de raiz, dated 1623-03-21; and certificate, dated 1623-01-07, of a partition deed dated 1592-04-08, proving the houses had belonged to the sellers.

Sale and bond deed by which Pedro Bambolém de Faria, widower of Catarina de Matos, sells to João de Pugas de Vasconcelos, provedor das Capelas, his houses in Lisboa, in rua da Pelada, to entail to the chapel established by Henrique Pereira de Sousa and D. Isabel Telo de Meneses. The houses are bought with revenue from the sale of a farmstead in Elvas, which had belonged to the entail but had been sold to acquire new properties. The chapel was then administered by D. Nicolau da Silva.
