Will (extract) by which Jorge de Lemos expresses his wish to be buried in the convent of S. Domingos de Benfica, Lisboa, in the tomb of his grandparents. He establishes an obligation of ten annual masses in that convent, for his and his parents and grandparents' souls, and an entail with his herdade [in Alvalade]. He bequeaths it to his son, Pedro Lopes, who went to India. If his son dies before him, or without descendance, it shall be inherited by his nephew, Bartolomeu Vaz de Lemos or, if he also dies before him, by his other nephew, Francisco de Lemos.

Will (extract) by which Afonso Fernandes de Montarroio entails his quinta das Ameias. He bequeaths it to his son, Cristóvão de Montarroio, and to his descendants afterwards, with the obligation of three annual masses in the chapel of S. If his son dies before him, the entail shall be bequeathed to the child his pregnant wife gives birth to, if he is a son; if not, it shall be bequeathed to their daughter, Leonor de Montarroio.

Will (extract) by which Simão da Veiga Cabral appoints his natural daughter, Isabel, as his universal heir. He bequeaths her, and her successors afterwards, all of his property in an entail, with the obligation of 100 masses for his soul in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. If his daughter doesn't have any descendants, the entail shall be inherited by one of his nephews, Simão da Veiga or Lourenço da Veiga, sons of his brother, Manuel Cabral.

Will (extract) by which Gonçalo Vaz Barriga expresses his wish to be buried in the chapel of Chagas of the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, next to his brother and parents. He entails his properties and bequeaths them to his brother, João Alves (or Álvares) Barriga, and to his descendants, with the obligation of a daily mass and an annual divine office in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which Francisco Gastão entails the herdade de Quintos, in Beja, and nine moios and threes quarteiros of wheat with two moios of barley and twelve of wheat. He establishes a chapel of 100 masses in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, ten for his father, ten for his mother, ten for his first wife, D. Maria de Melo, ten for Catarina da Horta, his friend, ten for his current wife, D. Jerónima Ferraz, and the remaining ones for his own soul. He appoints his wife as the entail's first administrator. After her death, it shall be bequeathed to his cousin, Francisco de Távora, or to Manuel Godinho de Faria, if Francisco de Távora has already died or is absent from the kingdom. After their deaths, the chapel shall be bequeathed to a grandson of Álvaro Gastão, Francisco Gastão's brother, and to his descendats afterwards. If the lineage is extinguished or the administrators don't comply with the obligations for two years, the chapel shall be bequeathed to the closest relative of Francisco Gastão, with the exception of the descendants of Rui Gomes da Costa.

Will (extract) by which Diogo de Seixas bequeathed the third part of his assets to his cousin, Helena de Andrade, obligating her and her descendants to support the celebration of 50 annual masses for his soul in the church of Misericórdia of Lisboa. If his mother died before him, all of his patrimony would be entailed and delivered to Helena Andrade with the obligation of celebrating a daily perpetual mass in the church of S. Will (extract) by which Pedro da Silva, bispo do Brasil, established a chapel, designating his niece D. Micaela da Silva, daughter of his eldest brothers, to be its first administrator. The institutor wanted that all his movable goods and his houses in Bahia would be sold in order to buy others for this chapel. The administrator was due to order the celebration of masses, that should be said by a chaplain. After the administrator’s death, it should succeed her son Silvério and, in his absence, another daughter of Micaela. If there were no heirs of the family, it should succeed the eldest servant, or the eldest maid of his house.

Will (extract) of António Jorge da Guerra, in which he declares that all his possessions should be entailed in a "morgado", in connection with a chapel that had previously been built in the monastery of São Francisco de Guimarães, where a retable of the Encarnation would be placed and where the founder would be buried in a tomb with the Guerra coat of arms, as he had in his signet ring. The first administrator of the entail would be his sister Catarina da Guerra, followed by his son António Machado da Guerra. All administrators were obliged to use the name Guerra and the coat of arms of the family. First-born sons took precedence, and clerics were excluded from the administration.

Luísa de Matos, wife of Martinho Vaz de Azevedo, bequeaths a vineyard in Lumiar to her nephew, Fernando de Matos de Carvalhosa, and her quinta da Ameixoeira to her niece, D. Isabel da Veiga, and establishes a chapel of three masses in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, entailed to an interest in Casa da Índia. These properties shall be united in an entail by the marriage of Fernando and D. Isabel, and will be inherited by their descendants, who will have to use the surname Veiga. Quinta da Ameixoeira is entailed to a chapel of two annual masses in the church of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação of Ameixoeira, one of them for the soul of Luísa de Matos's mother, who bequeathed these properties to her daughter with this obligation.

She was due to order the celebration of masses for her and her husband's soul in the Convent of Santo António da Lourinhã.
