Codicil (extract) by which Margarida Botelho orders that her executors use 40 000 reis of interest to buy properties to entail to her chapel, instead of the 20 000 reis she established in her will. She establishes that the daily mass for her soul shall be prayed by a chaplain from her family. She appoints her sister, Maria Nunes, and her successors, as administrators of her chapel.

Composition deed between Rui de Vargas da Silva, cavaleiro da Casa do Rei, his wife, Jerónima Falcão, and his father, António de Vargas, capelão and fidalgo da Casa do Rei. António de Vargas donates once more his properties in Bucelas to his son and daughter-in-law, a donation he had previously made as part of their dowry, in 1667, and which had, afterwards, been revoked, causing problems in their marriage. These properties shall be entailed and inherited by their successors, with an obligation of three annual masses for his soul in the church of Bucelas.

Composition deed between father Nicolau Jorge's nephews and administrators of his chapel, and father Pedro Álvares de Gouveia. The administrators complained that the estates entailed to their uncle's chapel were insuficient to pay for the pious obligations; at the same time, they all lived far from the estates. Therefore, they propose to give away the administration to Pedro Álvares Gouveia, priest in the same church of São Jorge de Vizela, under the condition that he should entail other estates to the chapel, and transmit its administration to another lay relative.

Confirmation letter by which king D. Dinis confirms the entail foundation deed made by D. João, bispo do Porto, by which he bequeathed Sancha Eanes, his criada, his properties in Beja, Covilhã, Valhelhas, Belmonte, Correia and Refegas as an entail. He also gave her 8 000 libras to buy more properties to annex to this entail, and ordered her to marry Gonçalo Eanes Correia. After her death, the entail would pass to her children or, if she had no descendants, to whomever inherited his other properties in Soalhães, Vila Pouca, Oliveira and Gafanhão.

Confirmation letter by Mem da Costa Saraiva of the entail founded by his parents, Pedro Saraiva da Costa and Ana Frajoa da Costa, and clauses' declaration. Her mother was present and consented in this confirmation and presented clauses. This is a second document, since the first one was forged by Manuel da Costa Saraiva, brother of Pedro Saraiva da Costa, changing the clause which excluded him and his descendants from the entail's succession.

Confirmation letter of an entail foundation deed made in 1628-01-19 by Gines de Barona, his wife Beatriz Gomes and their minor son António de Barona. The institutors claim for royal intervention against the threats of António Serrão who argues that the entail will belong to the crown after their death. Contains addition of succession clauses.

Contract and bond deed between João Borges de Morais, D. Maria da Silva and António Borges de Morais, their son, and Frei Domingos da Ressurreição, ministro provincial of Arrábida and definidor geral of the Order of Saint Francis, Frei João da Ressurreição, definidor of that province, and the priest José da Silva, síndico of the same. The former donate to the latter part of a farm, in the parish of Nossa Senhora dos Olivais, for the maintenance of the Province's convalescence, under certain conditions. The farm would be administered, in the form of an entail, by the first who, through the donation, became patrons of convalescence.
The deed was ratified on 1674-09-30.

Contract and bond deed celebrated between the religiosos of the São Francisco of Évora monastery and João Afonso de Aguiar and his wife Maria Esteves. The latter had built a chapel in that monastery, where they wanted to be buried. This contract defined the charges that were to be celebrated upon and appointed Garcia de Melo to be the first administrator during his lifetime. After his death, he shall be succeeded by his eldest male son. The first ones agree with the clauses expressed in the contract.

Contract and bond deed by which Francisco da Fonseca and his wife Maria Salvado, the institutor's daughter, contracted with the priests of the Church of São Tomé to build a chapel following the institutor's will. They should be its first administrators and their heirs should succeed in this entail. If they did not nominate one of the children, it should succeed the eldest son, or daughter. This entail is composed of a farm in Vale Escuro, with its houses, and fruit trees located on the outskirts of Lisboa.

Contract and bond deed by which Maria dos Anjos, formerly known as D. Margarida da Silva, nun in Santa Clara de Santarém, with the agreement of the convent, relinquishes the properties she ought to inherit from her mother, D. Maria da Silva, for the foundation of an entail, in exchange of an annual fee and a monetary compensation. She and her brother, Nuno Álvares Pereira, establish the clauses of succession of the entail, which shall be inherited by their brother, António Pereira, and his successors.

Contract and bond deed by which D. Antónia Pereira and D. Leonor da Silva, nuns in the monastery of Lorvão, relinquish the properties they ought to inherit from their mother, D. Maria da Silva, for the foundation of an entail, in exchange of an annual fee and a monetary compensation. They establish the clauses of succession of this entail with their brother, Nuno Álvares Pereira, represented by Gonçalo Vieira, who accepts the conditions. The monastery acknowledges that the promised sums were duly paid.

Contract and bond deed made between Margarida de Horta, widow of Francisco Gomes de Alcobaça, on her behalf and Mécia Nunes de Horta, her sister, and the officers of the Confraria do Espírito Santo da Pedreira. The confraternity authorizes the burial of the first ones, and their descendants, in the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, in the church of Espírito Santo da Pedreira. The former undertake to make an altarpiece for it, and provide it with everything else necessary for the cult, within a year. Margarida Nunes de Horta also gives the confraternity a public debt instrument, in the amount of 50.000 réis, under the agreement. The founders could appoint the next administrator, but in case of extinction of the lineage, the administration would pass to the confraternity.

Contract and bond deed between the priests of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Monte do Carmo de Lisboa and Álvaro Pacheco and his son-in-law, Diogo Fernandes das Póvoas. It reinforces a previous agreement in which the priests granted them a chapel in the convent's church to serve as a burial site for them, their wives, and descendants, under a set of detailed conditions. Álvaro Pacheco and Diogo Fernandes established perpetual pious charges, including masses in the chapel, and agreed to pay an annual rent in wheat to ensure their fulfilment. After their death, the chapel would be administrated by Álvaro Pacheco, o Moço, respectively their grandson and son. Álvaro Pacheco strengthens this entail by giving his grandson three properties, described in detail along with the conditions for the entail's transmission.

Contract and entail foundation deed by Duarte da Gama with António da Gama, his son, and licenciado Afonso Eanes, tutor of António da Gama, in which the first one founds an entail to his son with all his assets and the latter ones commit themselves to entail all the assets that António da Gama inherited from his late mother, in her reserved portion. Duarte da Gama appoints António da Gama as the first owner of this entail and, after his death, his firstborn male son, with the pious obligation of some masses in the monastery of Nossa Senhora da Piedade of Azeitão.

Declaration and foundation deed by Afonso Munhós and his wife Mécia Dias founding a chapel in the hermitage of São João Baptista, which they have built in their farmstead. To support the pious obligations instituted, they entailed to it the third part of their patrimony, including their farmstead (quinta). The first administrator would be the surviving spouse and, after him, the heir of Afonso Munhós, preferably the elder male.

Declaration deed by which Joana da Cunha confirms the dispositions of her entail foundation deed, and clarifies that all of her son's children, legitimate or illegitimate, can inherit this entail, regardless of the dispositions she made about legitimacy for future successors. If Nicolau de Castro dies without successors, the entail shall pass to his brother, João da Cunha, and to his descendants, even if they are illegitimate. Nicolau de Castro is present and accepts these conditions, which he promises to fulfil.

Declaration deed by which Maria Eanes da Cunha, called the Cavaleira, states that the purpose of the previous donation was the establishment of a chapel or entail. She clarifies the forms of succession and reduces the charges that had to be celebrated.

Declaration deed of Guiomar Borges defining that, if Francisco Rebelo has a legitimate son or daughter, her available portion will be bequeathed to one of them and, after them, it will be transmitted by bloodline to the eldest male son. The testator also clarifies how her chapel and masses should be clelebrated.

Declaration deed made by Jorge Caldeira Tavares in which he disposed and ordered the foundation of two more entails composed of rural properties and estates in Portalegre's outskirts. To administrate the second entail he named his son Pedro Tavares de Mesquita and to administrate the third entail he named his son Miguel de Tavares. Both entails would have the exactly the same conditions and succession clauses of the first entail he founded in his will, which was administrated by his son Diogo Caldeira, except for the perpetual pious obligations, that he withdrew from those new entails.

Declaration deed by which Sebastião de Ataíde revoked clauses of the dowry deed issued on 1617-02-17, determining that the entail he had established should be administrated, after Diogo de Ataíde Coutinho's death, by a son of his choice. Maria de Miranda, Sebastião de Ataíde's wife, Diogo de Ataíde Coutinho, his son, and Úrsula de Miranda gave their approval to this deed.

Declaration deed by which Diogo Fernandes de Almeida, Teresa Nogueira's widower, Rico-homem and membro do Conselho Régio, fulfils his late wife's will by entailing vineyards in the ourtskirts of Alenquer, Castanheira do Ribatejo and Azambuja to the chapel she established. He appoints his son, Álvaro de Almeida, Cavaleiro da Casa do Rei, to be the entail's next administrator.

Declaration deed made by Simão de Sampaio, in which he disposed that after the death of António or Gonçalo, the succession should always continue on the eldest male relative of the institutor's bloodline.

Declaration deed by which frei Pedro de Mesquita, comendador da Ordem de S. João do Hospital de Jerusalém and bailio de Lango e Leça, confirms the renounciation of a house, orchard and vineyards in Elvas that his brother, António de Mesquita, made to his son, Álvaro de Mesquita, and establishes the conditions of this donation, as had been accorded. He declares that these properties will be entailed to an annual mass for his soul over his tomb or in the chapel of Santo António of the cathedral of Elvas, where his parents are buried. After Álvaro's death, the entail will pass to his children. If he doesn't have successors, it will pass to his sister, D. Joana de Mesquita, and to her children, or to their brother, Alexandre de Mesquita. If his heirs don't fulfil the obligations, the entail will pass to the administrator of the entail founded by Álvaro de Mesquita and his wife, Pedro de Mesquita's parents. Álvaro de Mesquita is present, confirms the donation and accepts the conditions.

Declaration deed by which Baltasar de Castro established an entail, incorporating several properties in order to fulfill some pious charges. He designated Francisco Gonçalves to be the chaplain and the first administrator of this chapel, which should be succeeded by a cleric from the institutor's family. In addition, Baltasar de Castro sent 9 bars of silver from the Cidade dos Reis to Seville, made several donations and ordered the purchase of several properties, in a process that would be handled by his nephews Francisco Gonçalves, Pedro Gonçalves Reigoto and António Gonçalves. Followed by an acknowledgment record dated 1628-06-18.

Declaration deed of D. Maria da Costa Noronha adding some clauses related to her chapel, founded by her will, and the entail of Costas, founded by her parents, D. Gil Eanes da Costa and D. Margarida de Noronha. The testator specifies that she wants that only the successors of D. João da Costa, conde de Soure, succeed in her chapel. Otherwise, if his lineage becomes extinct the administration of her chapel should be transferred to Misericórdia of Lisbon. D. Maria da Costa Noronha also entails to her parents' entail a golden ring with the coat of arms of Costas. Besides, she mentions that she owns the entail founded by D. Pedro de Sousa, in which she has a lawsuit with D. Lourenço de Sousa, informing that Nuno Gomes, seu criado, has to give account of the income taken from that entail.

Declaration deed by Luís Álvares de Madureira and Joana de Madureira, adding some clauses to regulate the entail previously instituted. They established that the properties of the entail could not be given as dowry, nor used to ransom captives. The parents had the right to disinherit the presumptive heir of the entail if he married without their consent, unless the marriage was with a person of honorable lineage. Furthermore, the administrators of the entail were compelled to live in the city of Porto or in its 'termo', unless their service to the king obliged them to live elsewhere. They also required the heir to entail his reserved portion, his inheritance and that of his siters who became nuns, arguing that the monasteries where they lived should abdicate from the estates, since they belonged to the institutors' grandparents and ancestors, and should therefore be included in the entail.

Declaration deed made by Gaspar Cerveira da Cunha increasing the charges celebrated in the chapel of Nossa Senhora, founded by his father João Cerveira da Cunha. He entails assets located at Quinta de Telhais on the outskirts of Algodres. He designates his daughter Maria da Cunha and his nephew João de Cerveira da Cunha, who are about to marry, as his successors in the administration of the chapel; they accept the dowry and the obligations. João de Cerveira da Cunha, Gaspar’s son and Maria’s brother, renounces his rights over the administration of the chapel to his sister.

Declaration deed by which Pedro Esteves Gavião and his wife Constança Martins, seeing how the assets entailed by Estêvão Martins Gavião and his wife Maior Domingues were insufficient to fulfil the determined charges, entail several properties for that purpose and to increase the charges. After their death, they shall be succeeded by their eldest son.

Declaration deed (extract) through which Francisca de Avelar revoked some clauses of her will chart, regarding the foundation of a chapel. She entailed her houses located in Lisboa, altering the number of annual masses to be celebrated in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. She appointed her only son, Luís Leitão, as the entail's first administrator. After his death, it would be administered by the son or daughter of his choice, who would bequeath it to his/her eldest son.

Deed of sale of a property with vineyards, fruit trees and a hut house, in Pico, in the limit of Câmara de Lobos, by Padre António da Silva Barreto to João de Bettencourt Henriques and D. Francisca Henriques, the seller's niece, and their offspring and heirs, for the same price of 280.000 réis, with the declaration that the buyers will enjoy the property in their lifetime and, after the last one's death, the property will be handed to their eldest male son as an entail and always annexed to the available portion of D. Isabel de Bettencourt, composed by Quinta da Torre with the hermitage of Nossa Senhora da Boa Hora. The buyers commit themselves to fulfil all the obligations and to order the weekly mass celebration.

Deed of sale by which Simão Henriques bought a "casal" located in Cabeço de Monchique for 70 000 réis. He wanted to incorporate this property into his father Fernando Vaz de Sequeira's chapel in order to pay its pious obligations. His father ordered the celebration of masses in the Chapel of Jesus in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição dos Freires. It should succeed in this obligation the eldest son of Simão Henriques and his heirs.

Donation and chapel foundation deed by which António Correia Bettencourt and his wife D. Joana Henriques founded a chapel in the hermitage of Nossa Senhora da Boa Hora, that they ordered to build in their Quinta da Torre, in Câmara de Lobos. They donated vineyards and fruit trees to this hermitage in order to pay to the chaplain who would celebrate the masses. The couple would administrate this chapel until their death, and they would be succeeded by their eldest son and his descendants.

Donation and entail foundation deed by licenciado Fernando Velho de Azevedo, founding a chapel and entail, with masses in the church of S. Julião of Setúbal, to his legitimated son, André Velho Freire.

Donation and entail foundation deed by João Nunes da Costa and Constança Rodrigues, his wife, with a set of properties (assento) in Ribeira de Nisa, in the outskirts of Portalegre, donating it to Manuel da Costa, their son, with some pious obligations in Casa da Misericórdia of Portalegre or where they decide in their wills. Manuel da Costa will receive this entail when the last of his parents dies, since they will enjoy these properties in their lives.

Isabel Acciaiuoli de Vasconcelos, his wife, to her nephew, capitão Zenóbio Acciaiuoli de Vasconcelos, who should succeed them after their death, with a chapel under the invocation of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, in the church of Santiago.

Donation deed from D. Manuel, king of Ternate, of the Amboino and Ceirão islands, in the Moluccas archipelago, to Jordão de Freitas to own them as an entail.

Donation deed by which Maria de Sottomayor donates to her nephew João de Brito de Sottomayor a farm called "Vale de Freiras", in the outskirts of Lisboa, with its orchards, olive groves, vineyards, houses and olive oil press. He is appointed to be its first administrator and obligated to order the celebration of masses in the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça, in Lisboa.

Donation deed by which Matias Gonçalves donates several properties, including salt pans, a vineyard and a pine forest, to António, son of Manuel Nunes and Luísa Martins, reserving the usufruct during his lifetime. The donation was made on condition that António became a cleric and fulfilled the donor's legacies. Otherwise, it would be for Maria, Antonio's sister. Among the legacies, he orders his grave in the church of São João Batista of Coruche, in the tomb of Leonor Gomes, his wife, as well as the fulfillment of charges. The next administrator must be the son of the previous one. Until António became a cleric, or Maria did not reach the age of majority, the administrator would be Luís Ferreira.

Donation deed made by Leonor Brás and Maria Brás, sisters, of certain real estate to Antónia da Cruz, their niece, maintaining the usufruct in their lives, ordering them to always stay together and establishing succession clauses and pious charges.

Donation deed made by Maria Dias in which she donated a share of an estate named Herdade dos Fartos to her grandson José, son of Manuel de Moura Estaço and Vicência de Melo e Lacerda, annexing that property to the entail of São Miguel, which José would administrate. She also established an entail with a perpetual obligation of three masses celebrated every year, composed of a property in Severete, Alegrete, which would be administrated by her grandson Francisco during his lifetime and passed, after his death, to his eldest son.

Donation deed by Pedro Eanes Campelo to Lourenço Campelo for his marriage with Filipa Guimarães. With this donation, Pedro Eanes Campelo established an entail that was to remain in the possession of Lourenço and his descendants, to be transmitted through the first-born sons, excluding clerics, illegitimate children and people who had committed lese-majeste crimes. The head of the entail was to be the estate of Barca, in São Romão da Ucha, Prado. A perpetual obligation was imposed to celebrate 10 annual masses in the church where Pedro Eanes Cameplo decided to be buried.

Donation deed by António Fernandes, appointed by his uncle Cristóvão Soares as first administrator of his chapel. Cristóvão was in China and sent 210.00 réis to institute a chapel under the invocation of Nossa Senhora da Salvação, with a weekly mass. Since the money was not sufficient to fulfill the institutor's will, António Fernandes bought and entailed more estates, in recognition of his uncle's good deeds.

Donation deed by Francisco de Miranda and Maria Gomes, instituting an entail and appointing each other as heirs to one another. After their deaths, the entail should pass to Francisco's daughter, Maria de Miranda.

Donation deed by Pedro Fernandes and Cecília Fernandes, entailing properties to a chapel next to their house in São Martinho de Armil, and appointing their granddaughter Mariana as successor.

Donation deed by which Ana Correia da Costa, widow of Sebastião Rodrigues Lajes, donates all of her properties to Luísa or Luzia de Almeida, her step-daughter. She entails her houses in Lisboa with an obligation of a daily mass in her burial place, which will either be in the church of Nossa Senhora da Penha de França or in the convent of S. Francisco de Xabregas. She also appoints her stepdaughter as administrator of the chapel established by her brother, António Correia, in the church of Nossa Senhora da Penha de França.

Donation deed in which Isabel Ribeiro appoints her son Brás Ribeiro to succeed in the entail founded by her late husband, Pedro Afonso, with all the conditions and pious charges established. The entail is composed of houses and an income of 2 000 réis. After the death of her son, the entail should be administered by a son or daughter he appoints and after that it should pass to the eldest sons or eventually to the eldest daughters, always being transmitted to the closest member of the family. If his generation comes to an end, the houses and their income must be delivered to the priests of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Lisboa.
Isabel Ribeiro also donates to her son the remaining part of her husband’s third that he left her.

João da Praça of Lisboa to João Eanes, his criado, Madalena Leonardes' son. After his death, the entail must be inherited by his eldest son and passed to his descendants. Those properties could never be sold or exchanged for others.

Donation deed by which Afonso Esteves donates the estates he had on the outskirts of Évora and Vimieiro, which he received on the death of his father, to Maria Esteves, his mother, and to Lourenço Esteves and Mem Esteves, his brothers. After the death of his mother he was to be left to his brothers, and after the death of the first to the second. After the death of the second he was to remain with his eldest son. The administrators had to fulfill the determined charges, celebrated in the church of Santa Maria de Vimieiro. If any of his brothers wanted to establish a chapel in that church, the assets had to be attached to it.

Donation deed made by Francisco Afonso Chaves e Melo on behalf of Gonçalo Castanho de Mendonça on the occasion of his marriage with his niece Maria de Chaves Torres, in which he donated 40 alqueires of land in S. Miguel island that would compose an entail with a perpetual mass obligation of a weekly mass celebrated in memory of his soul. He appoints the future bride and husband as first administrators of the entail with the condition that they would appoint one of their children or, if they had none, the closest relative of Maria de Chaves Torres, preferably a male one.

Donation deed through which D. Pedro de Castilho, Bispo de Leiria, donates lands (casais) in Golegã to his nephew, Diogo de Castilho, with the obligation of celebrating masses for the souls of Pedro's parents in the altar of S. João Baptista of the Mosteiro de Santa Cruz of Coimbra. Diogo de Castilho gives his consent to this donation.

Donation deed by mestre Brás de Azambuja, prior of Vila Boim, of his properties, located in Vila Boim, and movables to D. Leonor Henriques, daughter of D. Miguel da Silva, founding an entail with masses in his chapel of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, in the same village. If D. Leonor does not have offspring, he appoints her brother, D. Álvaro da Silva, as her successor. Both D. Isabel and D. Álvaro were present and accepted this donation.

Donation deed by which D. Maria Teixeira, Domingos Lopes Barreto's wife, donates her farmstead (quinta) of Boavista da Mealhada, on the outskirts of Loures, to João Nunes Pais, Moço da Câmara do Rei, with the obligation of celebrating masses in a church to be chosen in her will. This donation should only be made on the condition that João pays off all the debts that D. Maria inherited from her father, her first and second husbands. After João's death, the entail should be transmitted to his wife, Guiomar Barradas, who must be succeeded by one of their children.

Donation deed by which Inês Afonso, Afonso da Várzea's widow, donates houses in Lisboa to Maria Eanes, her late husband's niece, obligating her and her successors to celebrate annual masses for her soul in the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Palma of Lisboa. After Maria Eanes' death, the entail should be inherited by her eldest son. Followed by an acórdão em relação and a detailed description of the chapel's assets.

Donation deed, made in Arronches, in which Isabel Bernardes took a rent worth three moios of wheat she owned in an estate named Herdade da Carneira and donated it to her nephew António Bernardes as an entail with a perpetual obligation of twenty six masses celebrated every year, from which six would be sung. She also disposed that all administrators should distribute three alqueires of wheat in All Soul's Day among the poor people. After António's death, the succession should always continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir, and if he had no children or his bloodline became extinguished, the administration would be handled to the Misericórdia of Arronches.

Donation deed by which padre José de Moura de Brito donates houses in Almada, a farmstead (quinta) in Vale de Mourelos, in Almada, and a vineyard in Vale de Marinhos, in the outskirts of Caparica, to his cousin, José Velho Mascarenhas, António de Almeida de Eça's son, instituting the obligation of celebrating annual masses for his soul in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. After the death of the entail's first administrator, it would pass to his eldest male son. The institutor asks his heir to bury his mortal remains in the referred church, in the grave where already lied his brother, António Rebelo de Moura.

Donation deed by which Luís de Almeida de Vasconcelos, fidalgo da Casa do rei and D. Simoa Godinho's husband, donates lands in Sobral de Monte Agraço and Almargem do Bispo to Manuel da Cunha, Marta Antunes' husband. Manuel is obligated to celebrate annual masses for the souls of Luis and those of his parents and grandparents, in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. After Manuel's death, the entail should be administered by his eldest son.

Donation deed by which D. João, bispo de Lisboa, donates to Vasco Eanes, criado of D. Geraldo, bispo do Porto, his properties in Cadimes, Oliveira, Telhe, Cardosa, Vila Pouca, Soalhães, Cafanhão, Fonte Seca, Gundofe, Formoselha, Arouca, Sintra, Torres Vedras, Tojal and in the julgados of Baião, Lafões, Vouzela and Gestaçô, as an entail, to be passed to his lay children after his death. Vasco Eanes should take possession of the properties when he completed 25 years of age.

Donation deed by which Maria Pires Rová, Martinho Fernandes' widow, donates houses and vineyards in Lisboa to the convent of S. Domingos of that city, obligating its friars to celebrate annual masses for her soul and that of her husband, which was buried inside the chapel of S. Martinho. She declares that before her death she would appoint a relative to be the chapel's first administrator, demanding that, every year, her successor should give 105 libras to the convent. Followed by a letter of possession.

Donation deed to Gonçalo Vasques Coutinho and Leonor Gonçalves, his wife, of all the king's properties in Rio Maior, founding an entail.

Donation deed by D. Jerónima, widow of Isidoro Arnaut, revoking her will and subsequent declaration and donating all her assets to Luísa Arnaut, her stepdaughter, as a dowry to own them as a chapel or entail, with masses in the church of Lousã.

Donation deed by which Maria Carolas donates houses in Lisboa to Sebastião Fernandes, Cavaleiro do Rei, obligating him and his descendants to support the celebration of an annual mass for the souls of Fernando Álvares, the donor's late husband, and of his parents in the church of S. Nicolau of Lisboa. After the first administrator's death, the entail should be inherited by one of his sons. Sebastião Fernandes gives his consent to this deed.

Donation deed by which Catarina Lopes, widow of Gonçalo Lourenço, donates to Estêvão Pires, pescador, her houses in Alfama, Lisboa, with an obligation of ordering two annual masses for her soul in the church of Santo Estêvão de Alfama. The houses shall pass to his descendants with the same obligation. Estêvão Pires is present and accepts this donation.

Donation deed by which Domingos Ribeiro Cirne, Deputado da Mesa da Consciência e Concelho das Ordens, donated to his brother Lourenço Peixoto Cirne, cavaleiro professo na Ordem de Cristo, all his movable and immovable goods in order to establish an entail. His brother should succeed in this entail with the obligation to order the celebration of masses in the Church of São Cristóvão, in Lisboa. After his death, he should be succeed by his eldest son Cristóvão Peixoto and his heirs. If his brother died before his wife D. Maria de Sequeira, his widow should succeed in this entail, until the marriage of their eldest son. The successors were also obligated to incorporate the half of their "legítimas" if they were single, or their thirds if they were married. This entail is composed of some houses located in the parish of São Cristóvão, and a farm of Caparica, located in Murfacém, on the outskirts of Almada. The institutor's brother Lourenço Peixoto Cirne accepted these obligations.

Donation deed by which Maria Teresa de Leiria, Filipe de Araújo Pacheco's widow, donated a farmstead (quinta) in Olivais, Lisboa, houses in that city and a vineyard in Caparica to D. Francisca Antónia de Brito, D. Francisca Maria de Brito's daughter, niece of the donor, thus instituting an entail. The entail's first administrator had the obligation to give, each year, 3 000 réis to one of the daughters of Doutor Manuel Freire de Ocanha; the same amount of money to Maria Ana de Miranda, Dinis de Barros' wife, if she became a widow and 2 000 réis to Manuel de Padilha de Miranda's daughter, who was a nun in the convent of Santa Ana. The entail's future administrators had to support the celebration of annual masses for the institutor's soul in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa.
The donor also declared that any assets which could be obtained at the end of the legal dispute opposing her to João da Fonseca, Maria da Conceição and Gaspar Abreu de Freitas, concerning the patrimony of her late brother, Simão Monteiro de Leiria, should be incorporated in the entail.
D. Francisca Antónia de Brito gave her consent to this deed.

Donation deed by which the cónego André Rodrigues donates an estate in Redemoinhos and other properties in Elvas to D. Pedro de Mesquita, as an entail, with the obligation of ordering an annual mass for the soul of bailio frei Pedro de Mesquita in the chapel of Santo António of the cathedral of Elvas. The entail shall pass to his children or, if he dies without successors, to his brother, D. Manuel, or to other members of their family.

Donation deed to Diogo Lopes de Sousa and his descendants of all assets that belonged to Egas Coelho, which were confiscated for treason and are now donated for his services and those of D. Frei Lopo Dias, Mestre of the Ordem de Cristo, his dad. The donation includes assets and rights in Miranda do Corvo, Podentes, Germanelo, Folgosinho and in the Julgado of Vouga and Leiria. The donation is made in the form of an entail, defining succession clauses, namely the eldest legitimate male child.

Donation deed by which D. Geraldo Domingues, bispo de Évora, donates his properties in Penelas de Lamego, Torres Vedras, Baracal, Pindelo, Fazões, Alenquer, Lisboa, Santarém, São Cristóvão de Nogueira do Cravo and Torre do Bigo and the patronage of the churches of São Martinho de Fundiais and Bouças to his nephew, Vasco Martins, reitor da igreja de São Tiago de Beja, as an entail. He establishes an obligation of annual masses for his soul and the souls of his sister Maria, of king D. Dinis, of Estêvão Domingues, former prelado de Penufe, and of his family, in his chapel of Santa Catarina of the cathedral of Lamego. He also orders daily masses for the souls of João Pais, reitor, and Vasco Peres, his nephew, in the church of S. Salvador of Santarém, to be supported by his properties in Torres Vedras and Alenquer. After Vasco's death, the entail shall pass to Estêvão Domingues, prior da Azambuja, and afterwards to Egídio, son of Geraldo's brother, Vicente Domingues, and to his descendants.

Donation deed by which Aníbal Sernige donates to Manuel Sernige, his son, several properties located on the outskirts of Porto, Feira, Aveiro, Esgueira and Ílhavo, as an entail. The administrator was responsible for appointing the successor from among his sons. If not, it would be for the eldest. The charges were to be celebrated in the hermitage of Nossa Senhora, in the place of Sá, on the outskirts of Ílhavo. In case of extinction of the lineage, he would stay in that hermitage. Manuel Sernige and Maria Ferreira, his wife, accept the conditions of the donation, undertake to fulfill the charges and attach other properties to the entail.

Donation deed by which Sebastião Pereira and his wife Ana da Costa decided to give all their assets to Sebastião. The couple did not have any children of their own, but in view of the great affection they both had for Sebastião, who was Sebastião Pereira's natural son, they decided that he should be the heir to their estate. The property, namely the farmstead of Bastuço, was incorporated into a chapel with the task of celebrating a perpetual weekly mass in the church of Santa Maria de Barcelos, where the couple were to be buried. On the death of the couple, Sebastião would take possession of the estate, to be succeeded by his first-born son, excluding any illegitimate children from the administration. If he had no descendants, the entail was to be given to Ambrósio Pereira, who was also a legitimate son of Sebastião Pereira, or alternatively to his nephew Gaspar de Maris.

Donation deed by Leonor Mascarenhas of her houses and backyards, in Montemor-o-Velho, to her son, António da Fonseca de Andrade, who will inherit these assets as an entail, which she and her husband, Gaspar da Fonseca, want to found with their available portions. The houses and backyards will be the entail's head. She also orders her husband to found this entail and list its conditions.

Donation deed by Gaspar Dias and Ana de Medeiros, his wife, founding an entail with their available portions and appointing André Dias de Medeiros, their son, as first administrator. André Dias de Medeiros accepted the donation and promised to fulfil all the clauses and conditions.

Donation deed made by Beatriz Rodrigues in which she donated several properties in Portalegre's district to Rodrigo de Reboredo with the condition that he would study and became a clergyman. Those properties should compose an entail that would have a perpetual pious obligation of twenty masses celebrated every year by Rodrigo himself during his lifetime. After the death of Rodrigo, the administration would be transmitted to his mother Francisca de Reboredo or some of her daughters, preferably Maria de Matos in first place, or Luísa de Reboredo, in second. And from there on the succession should always continue on their children, preferably the eldest male heir. However, if none of them had children, the administration would be handled to the Tesoureiro-Mor of the mother church of Portalegre with the same pious obligation of twenty masses and two more privileged masses celebrated every year.

Donation deed in which Catarina de Cáceres donated a vineyard and an olive grove in Loureiro to her niece Catarina de Carvalho and her husband Manuel Vaz, thereby ordering the foundation of an entail that should be administrated by them and by their descendants, preferably the eldest male heir, with a perpetual pious obligation of five masses celebrated every year in the convent of S. Francisco of Portalegre.

Dowry deed in which António Pires Subtil and his wife Maria Marques enwoed their son Pedro Marques with all the assets that remains of their own reserved portions, thereby ordering the foundation of an entail with a perpetual pious obligation of ten masses celebrated every year in the Church of Espírito Santo, in Marvão. Pedro would administrate the entail during his lifetime, and, after his death, the succession should always continue, preferably, on his eldest male heir, or, if he had none, the administration would be handled to his sister Maria Mendes with the same conditions. In case Pedro, or any of his descendants, succeeded on the administration of another entail, bigger than this one, he could appoint one of his sons to succeed on this entail. This entail is composed of houses, orchard, vineyards, lands and a farm located in Marvão.

Donation deed by which Gonçalo Vaz donates an hospital in Sacavém, which was founded by one of his ancestors, and its properties to Pedro Afonso, Afonso Domingues' son. The latter and his descendants are obligated to support the celebration of annual masses for the institutor's soul in the church where his body would be buried and to guarantee that the hospital has four beds, which should be occupied by poor people. If, at the time of the donor's death, a son or a grandson survives him, he must become the administrator of the hospital instead of Pedro Afonso. Afonso Domingues, Cavaleiro do Conselho do Rei, approves this deed on behalf of his minor son.

Donation deed by which Bento Nunes, cónego in the cathedral of Elvas, donates to D. António Lobo and his wife, D. Joana de Mesquita, an estate in Elvas, as an entail, with the obligation of an annual mass in the chapel of Santo António of his cathedral. This entail should be annexed to the one founded by António de Mesquita with his estates of Torre do Caia and Freixas, which he donated as a dowry to D. Joana and D. António, and shall pass with it to their descendants, with the same conditions dictated by António de Mesquita.

Donation deed by which Beatriz Fernandes, widow of Domingos Martins Morgado, donates all of her properties in Monsaraz and its surroundings, including her half of the estate of Sardinha, to her nephew, Manuel Fernandes, son of her sister Catarina Lopes, as an entail, with the obligation of a daily mass in the altar of Nossa Senhora do Rosário of the church of Santa Maria da Lagoa. He can appoint its chaplain and the future administrator among his children, who will, afterwards, appoint the next administrators among their descendants. If no appointment is made, the entail shall pass to the eldest son. She also promises to buy two moios of wheat to annex to her entail.

Donation deed by which D. Catarina Cardoso, wife of Nuno de Almeida, establishes a chapel in the main church of Fronteira, fulfilling the will of her brother-in-law, doutor António Pimenta, who had bequeathed her 3 000 cruzados for that purpose. The masses of the chapel shall be prayed in his name, her own name and the name of her sisters, D. Inês Cardoso, António's wife, and Isabel Lopes de Morais. She donates the chapel to her brother, licenciado Domingo Cardoso, who can appoint a descendant as next administrator. Domingos Cardoso is present, accepts the donation and promises to fulfill the obligations.

Dowry and donation deed made by Maria Soares de Melo to Francisco Soares de Melo, capitão-mor of Lagoa, her cousin, of 18 alqueires of vineyard and a farmstead (casal) with the pious obligation of a perpetual chapel of prayed masses in the church of Nossa Senhora das Mercês and 2 cruzados to the church cleaning. Francisco Soares de Melo and his wife will appoint, after their death, one of their sons to succeed them.

Dowry deed by which Guiomar Vaz do Peral, Pedro Godinho's widow, donates her third part, composed of her properties in Elvas, as an entail to Cristóvão Godinho, her son, with an obligation of masses in the convent of S. Domingos of that city, where she wishes to be buried.

Dowry deed by which João Afonso de Beja, Vedor da Casa do Infante D. Luís, and his wife, Lucrécia Forjaz, donate 3 000 cruzados de ouro to her daughter, Luísa Forjaz, enabling her marriage with Pedro Vaz, Doutor Pedro Vaz's son. With the purpose of endowing the groom, Grimaneza Forjaz, Doutor Pedro Vaz's wife, establishes an entail with part of her assets, instituting the obligation of celebrating 12 annual masses in the chapel she had founded in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. After her death, it should be administered by her husband and subsequently inherited by her stepson. Grimaneza declares that, except for Pedro, she has no living heirs.
