Will chart

Will chart of António Barreto de Faria, ordering his grave in the low choir of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Tentúgal. He established a entail, with the obligation of masses, appointing his sisters, madres Inês da Purificação and Joana do Espírito Santo, to administer it. The entail was always to be administered by the nun who was his closest relative. It was up to the first administrators to establish the charges that should be entered into.
It follows an approval deed (dated 1671-09-29) and an opening deed of a will (dated 1671-10-19).

Will chart made by Leonor Gil. Through which she revokes and changes some of the dispositions of the will she had made with her husband. Now, she adds more properties to the entail, establishes a perpetual mass obligation of 12 masses celebrated annually and appoints only their son António Rodrigues as administrator of the entail, with the condition that he appoints his son to succeed him on the administration. All the other administrators should also be chosen by appointment and give alms to the Confraria do Santísismo Sacramento of Angra.

Will chart made by Iria Cota da Malha in which she ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail and the construction of a chapel devoted to S. Francisco in the convent of S. Francisco, in Angra, with a perpetual mass obligation of three masses celebrated in every year. She, her husband, and all their successors should be buried on this chapel. She appointed her nephew Constantino Machado as first administrator with the condition that he should appoint one of his children to succeed him, continuing the administration by appointment.

Will chart of Manuel da Cruz, ordering his grave in the hermitage of Santo Amaro, in Cortiça. He nominates Joana da Paz, his wife and executor, as the first administrator of the chapel that he instituted in the brotherhood of Santo Amaro, in that hermitage. After her death, the chapel was to be administered by his nephews, sons of Maria Simões, his sister, leaving her wife to choose the one she considered best to fulfill the charges. The following administrators would be appointed by the previous. In case of non-compliance of the charges, the administration should pass to the brotherhood of Santo Amaro.

Will chart of Francisco Gonçalves Vila Chã and Maria Gonçalves, his wife. They declare they had signed a contract, in 1604-03-26, with the provedor of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Azurara, reserving the income from several properties for the construction of the chancel of that church and hospital expenses. They now entail those properties as a chapel and appoint Maria Tomé, as the first administrator. A daughter was to succeed her, with females taking precedence in administration.
They institute another entail with properties located in the outskirts of Prado which shall be used to purchase olive oil and wax for the Santíssimo Sacramento of the convent of São Francisco of Azurara. They appoint Maria Carneiro as the first administrator, to be succeeded by her daughter, Ana.
They also institute a chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora, on the altar of Piedade in the Convent of São Francisco de Azurara, and appoint Justa as the first administrator, to be succeded by one of her children.

Will chart made by João Barreiros and his wife Maria Rodrigues, in which they ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of twenty masses celebrated every year in Portalegre. The institutors named João Barreiros, their son, as first administrator. The entailed assets were to be used as a dowry for their grandson João, to be ordained a priest. After his death, the chapel would be administered by a clergyman whom he appointed or by a layman to be ordained, who must be the closest relative of the said second administrator.

Will chart of Isabel de Castro. She appoints Constantino Mendes de Gouveia, her nephew, as her heir and executor. She orders her burial in the church of Santa Engrácia, where her husband, Estevão Zagalho de Andrade, was also buried. She leaves a candal, a farm in Espiçandeira, on the outskirts of Alenquer, and some houses in Lisboa, in Rua da Feteira, for the celebration of charges. After her executor's death, it was to be left to one of his children. If his lineage was extinguished, the entail would be administered by the Misericórdia of Lisboa. The executor must also give a dowry, in the amount of 100 000 réis, to Isabel Borges de Castro, her sister, to profess in the convent of Espírito Santo in Torres Novas. The executor, and other possessors, had to give an annual account in the Juízo das Capelas of the celebration of the charges.

Will chart made by Beatriz Matela de Meneses in which she ordered the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of daily mass celebrated in Portalegre. She appointed D. Francisca da Silva de Sande to be the first administrator during her lifetime and, after her death, she shall be succeeded by D. Martinho de Vargas. They would be obliged to choose one of their children, whether male or female, to succeed him in the administration, being able to add to the institution the clauses they wanted.

Will chart made by Manuel Pires de Miguel, in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of three masses celebrated every year at the altar of the Vera Cruz of the convent of São Francisco of Portalegre. The institutor named Catarina Martins, his wife as first administrator, during her lifetime, who was supposed to appoint the administrator, among her descendants.

He appointed Pedro Lopes, his cousin, to be the first administrator during his lifetime and, after his death, he shall be succeeded by whoever he appoints.

Will through which Doutor Gaspar Vaz Rebelo, Desembargador do Paço, establishes two entails, with the assets he owned in Lisboa and Évora, appointing his two sons, Francisco Rebelo and Manuel Vaz Rebelo, as first administrators of those institutions. If neither of them survived, or had descendants, both of the entails would be inherited by Gaspar de Figueira, the testator's nephew. He instituted pious obligations of celebrating annual masses in the chapel of Jesus, in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa, and in his chapel, in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Évora. He chooses to be temporarily buried in the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. After his flesh disappeared, his bones should be transferred to the grave he had inside his chapel, in the convent of S. Domingos of Évora.

Will chart made by Joana Lobo in which she ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of twenty masses celebrated every year in Monforte. She appointed Gaspar Zuzarte to be the first administrator during his lifetime and, after his death, he shall be succeeded by whoever chose should, and the choice should one of the founder's nieces.

Will chart made in Santiago de Cabo Verde by Rui Baraça, Tesoureiro da Sé, in which he ordered the foundation of two entails. The first entail would be composed of the farm of São Domingos, with it's sugar, cotton and subsistance plantations, thirty cows and also seven enslaved persons, over which he imposed a perpetual pious obligation of one mass celebrated every week as long as the world lasted, naming Fernando de Fontes, licenciado, to administrate it during his lifetime, and, before his death, he would appoint one of his children to suceed him with the same conditions. The second entail would be composed of some cotton plantations, 77 cows and also ten enslaved persons, over which he imposed a perpetual pious obligation of one mass celebrated in every week as long as the world lasted, and to to administrate it he named his nephew Miguel, son of his niece Filipa Olália, with the condition that he would study and become a priest. After the death of Miguel, the administration would then be handled to his mother or to the eldest relative of her lineage, where it should remain. If anyone of the entailed cattle and slaves were sold, died or run away, the administrators of both chapels would be obliged to replace them immediatly, in order to keep their numbers as disposed on this will.

Will chart made by Aparício Domingues in which he ordered the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of masses celebrated every year in the church of São Pedro of Évora. He appointed João Lobo to be the first administrator during his lifetime and, after his death, he shall be succeeded by his legitimate son. João Lobo immediately receives the administration and returns it to Aparício Domingues.

Will chart by which Gonçalo Eanes, raçoeiro das igrejas de S. Tiago e de S. Martinho de Lisboa, bequeaths properties in Arruda dos Vinhos and Vale do Grou to his compadre, Fernando Eanes, barbeiro, with the obligation of celebrating 50 annual masses in the churches of S. Tiago and of Santa Maria of Arruda dos Vinhos. After the first administrator's death, the entail would be transmitted to a son chosen by him.
The testator establishes another entail with a vineyard in Vale do Grou, leaving it to his godson, João Fernandes, tabelião, obligating him and his successors to celebrate masses in the church of Santa Maria of Arruda dos Vinhos for his soul and for the soul of Leonor Fernandes.
He leaves houses in Lisboa to Margarida Eanes, his relative, with the obligation of supporting the celebration of masses for his soul in the church of S. Tiago, where the testator's remains would be buried. The entail should be inherited by her descendants.

Will chart by which Isabel Afonso, widow of João Pires, expresses her wish to be buried in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. She orders her executors to buy properties with the remaining part of her assets to entail to an obligation of masses for her soul in her burial place. She appoints Diogo Vaz and João de Quintanilha as her heirs and executors. They shall both administer her chapel and entail and shall appoint their successors among their children and heirs. She also establishes a daily mass for her soul in the convent of Esperança of Lisboa, to be administered by its nuns and abbess, to which she bequeaths a lease in Frielas.
Followed by approval deed of the will.

Will chart of Francisca de Sampaio Borges, ordering her grave in the main chapel of the church of Espírito Santo of Estremoz. She institutes a chapel, entailing all of her assets, fulfilling her legacies, and appoints Catarina de Sampaio Borges, her niece, first administrator. Charges were celebrated wherever the administrator wanted and the successor would be the son she chose. She also orders that her immovable property be attached to the chapel that the licenciado Luís Lobo de Sampaio, her nephew, wanted to establish.

Will chart made by Maria Velha de Melo in which she ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual obligation of three masses celebrated every year by Christmas Eve on the hermitage of N. Sra. do Desterro and a chapel of masses, with a perpetual weekly mass, in the chapel of S. André founded by her father, Cristóvão Vaz Velho, in Santa Maria island. Her body should be buried, however, in the chapel of S. Vicente, in the church of S. Miguel Arcanjo of Vila Franca do Campo. She named her son Simão de Sousa Raposo, priest, to administrate the entail during his lifetime, and after his death the administration should be given to her nephew Francisco de Arruda, also priest. After the death of Francisco, the administration should be given to his brother João de Arruda, who would be succeeded by one of his children, appointed by him before his death.

Will chart by which Isabel Soares de Sequeira ordered to be buried in the chapel of São Francisco. She established a chapel in Campo Maior, to which she attached several pious obligations that were already being celebrated for the souls of her parents and brothers, and entailed some properties ir order to fulfill the pious charges. She designated Gonçalo de Morais Pereira to be her last will executor and its first administrator and he could nominate the chapel's successor.

Will chart made by padre Francisco de Arruda Cabral, in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail composed of his own reserved portion, with a perpetual mass obligation of thirteen masses celebrated every year. He named his father António Favela da Costa as first administrator of the entail and after his death, his brother Manuel Favela. After Manuel Favela, even if he bared heirs, the administration should be transmitted to his nephew André da Ponte who would appoint one of children or brothers to succeed him on the administration.

Will chart of Isabel Correia bequeathing 13 alqueires of land to her nephew, capitão Bento Pacheco da Mota, with the pious obligation of a half of a chapel of prayed masses, per year, for her soul, in the church of Nossa Senhora da Estrela. Capitão Bento Pacheco da Mota can appoint one of his offsprings as his successor and, after him or her, the land will be transmitted by bloodline. She also bequeaths some houses to Joana Tavares, her niece, with the pious obligation of three perpetual prayed masses, in Christmas day. Her niece can do whatever she wants with the houses.

Will chart made by Maria de Arruda Coutinho in which she ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual mass obligation of three masses celebrated every year on Christmas. She named her husband, António de Medeiros e Albuquerque as first administrator with the condition that he would appoint one of their three children to succeed him, although the three of them would administrate the entail together during their lifes. The chosen son or daughter would appoint his successor.

Will chart made by António Lopes de Faria in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual obligation of 26 masses celebrated yearly for his soul and for the soul of his deceased wife Ana de Pimentel. He named his daughter Maria de Pimentel as first administrator and before her death she would choose one of her brothers or nephews to succeed her. He also appointed her as administrator of the entail founded by his uncle António de Faria.

Will chart by which Martinho Ferreira, Escudeiro da Casa do Rei, and his wife, Violante Lourenço, establish an entail with all their assets, including houses in Lisboa and the farmstead (quinta) of Malapados. After the death of one of them, the spouse who survives should administer it and assure, each year, the preparation of two feasts for 24 poor people, which must happen on Holy Thursday and on Pentecost. They declare that their bodies should be buried in the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1468-05-19 and an opening deed issued on 1469-01-18.

Will chart by which Vasco Lourenço, mercador, and Isabel Afonso, his wife, establish a shelter for poor people in the houses they own in Lisboa. They entail to it lands (casais) in Sintra, Cascais and Olivais, whose revenues should also support the celebration of annual masses in the church of S. Nicolau of Lisboa, where their bodies would be buried. After the death of one of the members of the couple, the surviving one should become the shelter's administrator, passing it to Estêvão Pires, alfaiate. He is bound to transmit it to his eldest son. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1432-10-24.

Will chart by which Bartolomeu Baião and his wife Maria Fernandes established an entail, incorporating immovable goods in order to fulfill the pious charges in the Church of Salvador de Serpa. Bartolomeu Baião designated the priest Sebastião Afonso to be the first administrator of his part of the chapel. The administrator should choose another priest to succeed him. Maria Fernandes designated her niece Maria Dias to be the first administrator and determined that her niece's husband, Manuel Paulo, should succeed her, followed by their eldest son or daughter.

Will chart of Catarina Rodrigues, ordering her grave in the church of São João of Abrantes. She instituted a chapel,entailing a fourth part of her assets, namely a house in the Praça and an olive grove at Fonte da Figueira, to fulfill of charges. She appoints Álvaro Fernandes, her son, first administrator. It was up to the administrator to choose the son he wanted to succeed him.

He entails two vineyards and a few houses to create an albergue for pilgrims in the village of Freixo, on the outskirts of Sesimbra, and appoints António Álvares, his son, as first administrator. This one had to appoint the son or grandson that he wanted to succeed him.

She designated Diogo Fernandes and his wife Margarida Velez to be her last will executors and the entail's first administrators. She also determined that the chapel's administrators should nominate their successor among their own children, preceding the males over the females.

Will chart by which Isabel Coelho establishes a chapel in the convent of São Domingos of Lisboa, entailing to it all her assets. She declares that she was appointed by her mother to administer a chapel instituted by her in the church of Santa Justa of Lisboa, to which she entails a public debt instrument of 93 100 réis in Casa da Índia. She appoints Frei António Coelho, her brother, to be the first administrator of both of the entails, who should be succeeded by Frei Nicolau Coelho, her nephew. The latter was obligated to appoint the next administrator of the two entails, on the condition that it had to be a nephew or niece of Isabel. She chooses to be buried in the church of São Domingos of Lisboa, inside the grave where lied her husband, Nuno Velho de Macedo.

She appoints António Ribeiro, her husband, as first administrator, to be succeeded by desembargador Francisco de Carvalho, or by his daughter, Joana de Carvalho, and their successors afterwards.

Will chart of Álvaro Saraiva da Gama, ordering his grave in the convent of São Francisco of Caria. He had a chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Conceição, with a chaplain, where he leaves certain charges, such as in the Franciscan convents of Caria, Vilares and São João da Pesqueira and in the churches of São Pelágio of Vila da Rua and Espírito Santo of Carregal. He leaves three properties to fulfill the charges in the convents and churches and entails the others in a chapel, with head in Quinta do Ribeiro and in the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, located on that farm. He appoints Francisco Pereira de Almeida, his nephew, executor, heir and administrator.

Will chart made by Diogo Homem Moacho in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of three masses celebrated every year in the church of Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres. The institutor appointed his sister Catarina Moacho as first administrator during her lifetime, with the condition of taking care of Diogo, her nephew, son of the institutor. After her death, she shall be succeeded by Diogo, during his lifetime and, after his death, he shall be succeeded by Manuel Moacho, son of Francisco Moacho, who must appoint a person of his lineage.

He designates his sister, Cosma Rodrigues de Quintanilha, as administrator of the chapel of Isabel Afonso, of which he was the current administrator by appointment from his father, João de Quintanilha. If Cosma Rodrigues dies before him, or without successors, the chapel shall pass to Maria Duarte, daughter of their sister Beatriz de Quintanilha. He also bequeaths her an orchard in Caspolima, Oeiras, to which he entails an obligation of three annual masses in the monastery of Santíssima Trindade of Lisboa, for his and his parents' souls. After her death, it shall pass to the person whom she appoints as heir of the chapel of Isabel Afonso, so the two obligations are always together.

Will chart by which Jorge Eanes bequeaths the assets his son, Frei Francisco, left him before becoming a friar, to Beatriz Eanes, his daughter, determining that she and her descendants must support the celebration of an annual mass in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa, where Isabel Eanes, the testator's mother-in-law, is buried. Those lands, which include properties in Murfacém, Almada; Carraceira and Ameixoeira, should never be divided and have to be inherited by a son or daughter of Beatriz Eanes. The testator decides that his body should be deposited in the convent of Santo Agostinho of that city. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1505-11-27.

He and his descendants are obligated to support the celebration of annual masses in her chapel of the convent of S. Domingos, to give, each year, olive oil to light a lamp inside it and 4 200 reais brancos to its friars.
She founds another entail with houses in Lisboa and lands (casal) in Alcântara and Alcolena, determining that its first administrator should be Rui da Grã, Desembargador do Rei, her nephew. The future administrators of the entail must support the celebration of annual masses for her soul in the church of S. Mamede of that city.
The testator also bequeaths an olive grove, in S. Lázaro, to João de Santiago with the obligation of giving, each year, olive oil to light another lamp in a chapel of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. The property should be transmitted to his son.

By the time of Bárbara's death, the institutor disposed that she could split the entailed assets in two parts, if she wished to, and bequeath each part to one of her children with the condition that they would order the perpetual celebration of five masses every year. From there on the succession should continue on the heir appointed by the last administrator. If Bárbara died without heirs, the administration would be handled to the closest relative.

They declare they had signed a contract, in 1604-03-26, with the provedor of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Azurara, reserving the income from several properties for the construction of the chancel of that church and hospital expenses. They now entail those properties as a chapel and appoint Maria Tomé, as the first administrator. A daughter was to succeed her, with females taking precedence in administration.
They institute another entail with properties located in the outskirts of Prado which shall be used to purchase olive oil and wax for the Santíssimo Sacramento of the convent of São Francisco of Azurara. They appoint Maria Carneiro as the first administrator, to be succeeded by her daughter, Ana.
They also institute a chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora, on the altar of Piedade in the Convent of São Francisco de Azurara, and appoint Justa as the first administrator, to be succeded by one of her children.

After their demise, their estate would be passed to Maria de Barros, their niece, António Trigueiros' wife, with the obligation that her and her descendants supported the celebration of 16 annual masses in the convent of Santo António of Varatojo, where the testators' remains would be buried. This pious obligation would be perpetually associated to the properties in A dos Cunhados, Torres Vedras, which could not never be sold or exchanged. Maria de Barros and António Trigueiros were allowed, during their lifetime, to do whatever they wanted with the majority of the inherited properties. At the time of their deaths, the remaining assets would be incorporated in the entail containing the lands in A dos Cunhados. If Maria de Barros died without appointing a successor, the entail would be passed to her husband and his heirs. He appointed his son, Diogo, as its first administrator, after whose death he ought to be succeeded by his male first born son. If Diogo died childless, the entail was bequeathed to Fernando de Braga, who then had the responsibility of appointing the next administrator. He chose to be buried in the aforementioned chapel, in the grave where lied his brother, João Gonçalves de Prado. Will chart by which Álvaro Esteves, Escudeiro do Rei, and Maria Álvares, his wife, bequeath houses in Lisboa to Gonçalo Mendes Monteiro, Estêvão Gomes and their wives, Catarina Álvares and Inês Gomes, nieces of the testators, obligating them to lease the properties and to use its revenues to support the celebration of annual masses in the church of S. Nicolau of that city. Those houses were already linked to a pious obligation instituted by António Ximenes in the convent of S. Will chart by which Bento Pacheco da Mota, capitão and sargento-mor of Ribeira Grande, wanted to be buried in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Estrela, in his grandfather's grave. He bequeathed his available portion to his son, Paulo Pacheco, with the pious obligation of a perpetual chapel, half of it for his soul and the other half for his wife's, Maria da Rocha, soul. He also bequeathed to his daughter, Isabel de São João, professa in the monastery of Santo André of Vila Franca do Campo, 13 alqueires and a half of land, that was bequeathed to him by his aunt, Isabel Correia, with the pious obligation of half of a chapel. He also bequeathed these alqueires to his daughter with the pious obligation a chapel of masses, half of it for the soul of his aunt, the first institutor, and the other half for his soul. After the death of her daughter, the 13 alqueires and a half of land will return to his available portion's successor. Will approved in 1668-09-11.

He entailed to it all his assets and all the estate he would obtain in Índia, determining that its revenues would support the celebration of a perpetual daily mass. The testator appointed his wife, D. Francisca Henriques, to become its first administrator, obligating her to appoint a successor. If she or her descendants died without appointing the next administrator, the entail would be inherited by their closest relative. Since his wife was not yet old enough, the chapel would be administrated by her father, António de Miranda, until she reached the appropriate age. Will (extract) by which Beatriz de Freitas established an entail with the obligation to celebrate four masses in the Convent of São Francisco de Xabregas. The institutor appointed Brígida da Guarda to be its first administrator and after her death she designated Sebastiana de Freitas, daughter of Miguel Rodrigues and his wife Margarida da Maia. After Sebastiana's death, she appointed another sister of hers to succeed in this chapel. This entail is composed of houses in Alfama, Lisboa. This chapel later incorporated into Beatriz de Freitas' chapel which was administered by Margarida da Maia.

He appoints his natural son, Afonso Martins Evangelho, legitimized by king D. Afonso V, as his universal heir. He also bequeaths him and his descendants an entail of his properties, with the obligation of a daily mass and five sung masses in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, and two annual masses in the church of Atouguia da Baleia, where his parents were buried. If his lineage is extinguished, the administrator of the entail shall be chosen by the merchants of the confrarias of Sto. Espírito and S. Francisco of Lisboa. He also makes a donation to a supposed natural daughter, named Violante, for her marriage, even though it was against his will.
Followed by notices dated between 1851 and 1853 mentioning the subrogation of properties belonging to this entail.

Will of André Gonçalves de Sampaio founding a chapel of masses in the chapel of Santo André, in the monastery of Santo André of Vila Franca do Campo, and appointing bacharel João Gonçalves as his executor and administrator. André Gonçalves de Sampaio also renounces to the administration of the chapel of is father, not named, because he has not offspring to succeed him. He requests to the king to appoint someone rightful to this administration.

Will by which Leonor Fernandes, Lourenço Eanes' widow, designates Afonso Taveira, her grandnephew, Pedro Taveira's son, to administrate the chapel she and her husband established in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. She entails to it her houses in Rua Nova, a farmstead (quinta) in Camarate and lands in Alcolena, determining that the chapel's future administrators must pay, each year, 3 800 reais brancos to that convent to support the pious obligations and give olive oil to light a lamp. They are also obligated to give to the convent's infirmary 200 reais brancos and to prepare a feast for the prisoners of the royal prison, every year.
She donates an olive grove in S. Lázaro to João de Santiago, obligating him and his successors to give, each year, olive oil to light a lamp of her chapel in the convent of S. Domingos.
The testator also bequeaths lands (casal) located near the bridge of Alcântara to her nephew, Rui da Grã, which should be passed to his descendants with the obligation of celebrating an annual mass in the church of S. Mamede of that city for the souls of Leonor Fernandes' parents.
She declares that her body should be buried inside her chapel, where her husband and children lie.

Will by which Maria Rodrigues, wife of João Lopes de Alvalade, cavaleiro da Casa do Rei, entails her quinta da Palma. She bequeaths it to her husband, under the condition that after his death it shall be given fully to João Queimado, her nephew, son of her sister. She establishes a chapel of thirty annual masses for her soul in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, where she wishes to be buried. At the time of João Queimado's death, he shall appoint the next administrator. She specifies that her quinta shall be given fully to João Queimado, as it is divided between him, her husband and her step-children. If they refuse to give their parts, João Queimado must be compensated, and the compensation shall be entailed to the chapel.

Will made by António Rodrigues de Figueiroa in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual mass obligation of one daily mass celebrated in the chapel of N. Sra. do Rosário of the church of Santa Maria, in Castelo de Vide. He named his sister Beatriz Carreira and his brother-in-law Vicente Gomes, to administrate the entail as long as they lived, with a pension worth 20.000 réis, and before their deaths, they should appoint a successor, but not doing so, the administration should be handled to padre Cristóvão Rodrigues Coelho with the same conditions. The administrators should give, in every year, 30.000 réis to the chaplain to pay for the masses, 4.000 réis to the repair of the chapel and 10.000 réis for the Confraria de N. Sra. do Rosário.

She founded a chapel, incorporating all her movable and immovable goods for the fulfillment of the pious charges celebrated in that chapel. She designated Gonçalo Gil, cleric, as its chaplain, and Gil Martins, cleric, as her last will executor and its first administrator. The chapel should have, after his death, two administrators, one appointed by the previous administrator and the other by the vicar and the municipality of Veiros. He named his grandson padre António Pires as first administrator during his lifetime, and, after his death, he would appoint a closest male relative to succeed him, or, in the absence of male, the female relative.

If Álvaro, Pedro Francisco de Távora and Beatriz Eanes' son, decides to marry, he should inherit the entail and transmit it to his descendants.
The testator also bequeaths his assets in Azambuja to Afonso, Gonçalo Eanes and Catarina Afonso's son, and his properties in Vale do Paraíso and Aveiras de Fundo to Diogo, Afonso's brother, obligating both to maintain a chaplain in the church of Azambuja, who would celebrate annual masses for their grandparents' souls.
