Entail foundation deed by which João Teixeira de Carvalho, capitão, and his wife Esperança Maria de Melo founded an entail, using some properties in Vila da Praia, in the Terceira island, with a perpetual obligation of seven masses celebrated every year in honour of the Holy Ghost. As they had no children or heirs, they designated their nephew Álvaro de Carvalho Teixeira, the eldest son of his cousin Jerónimo Teixeira de Carvalho, to be its first administrator. This entail should always be annexed to the Morgado do Barroso, administrated by João Teixeira de Carvalho, following the same clauses. Álvaro de Carvalho Teixeira should also administrate two chapels founded by João Teixeira de Carvalho's parents, Sebastião Teixeira de Carvalho and Maria de Rebelo, both of them of free appointment. The institutor excluded from this entail the rents of a land in Vila da Praia that was entailed to his great-grandfather Vasco Pires' entail. This foundation would only be valid if João Teixeira de Carvalho and Esperança Maria de Melo did not have children of their own because, in that case, their son should succeed in this administration.

Entail foundation deed by Lopo de Barros, fidalgo da casa do rei, and Beatriz Bravo, acting as a refoundation act of the entail established by Martinho Mendes de Barros. This entail was also made up of several properties in Braga, to which the couple decided to add their farmstead of Real, which they had inherited from Diogo Bravo, Beatriz's father. Its religious duties, with masses for the soul of Martinho and also for Kings Afonso V, João II and Manuel I, were carried out in the chapel of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, located in the cloister of Braga Cathedral, where the tombs were located and which Lopo and Beatriz had rebuilt. The "morgado", united with the previous entail, was created to ensure the preservation and memory of their lineage and to better serve the Kings of Portugal. Their son Diogo de Barros would become the next administrator, followed by his first-born son. Administrators were also obliged to use the family name.

Entail foundation deed by António de Melo and Catarina de Sampaio, his wife, with their available portions, located in Ramirão, in the outskirts of Algodres. They also order the foundation of the chapel of Santo António, in the same place, with the pious obligation of 24 perpetual masses, per year. The institutors appoint Jorge de Melo, their eldest son, as the successor in the entail's administration. Jorge de Melo was present and entails his reserved portions.

Entail foundation deed by which Isabel Cerveira, Doutor Pedro Jorge's widow, establishes an entail with her properties in Ribaldeira, Torres Vedras, and houses in Lisboa. The institutor obligates its future administrators to support the celebration of 2 weekly masses for her soul in the church where her body should be buried and other 2 annual masses in the churches of S. Pedro of Dois Portos, Torres Vedras, and of S. Nicolau of Lisboa. She appoints Brás de Alvide, her stepson, to be its first administrator, on the condition that he must marry to Guiomar Dias Perestrelo, the institutor's niece.

Entail foundation deed by which Aires de Saldanha Meneses e Sousa and his wife, D. Luísa Inês de Távora, renovate the institution of their entail, made in 1684-02-08, and correct some of its clauses. They list the properties of the entail: the noble houses near the convent of Nossa Senhora de Jesus of Lisboa, lands in front of the monastery of S. Bento of Lisboa, farmsteads in Santarém, public debt instruments, casais in Belas and Salvaterra de Magos, leases and other properties. They designate their eldest son as future administrator, with the obligation of ordering a weekly mass in a place of his choice. If their lineage is extinguished, the entail shall pass to the Misericórdia of Lisboa with an obligation of a daily mass for their souls.

Entail foundation deed by which Isabel da Silveira, daughter of Luís da Silveira and D. Branca de Mendonça, founded an entail and designated her sister D. Ana de Mendonça to be its first administrator. After her sister's death it should succeed her eldest son or, in his absence, her eldest daughter. If D. Ana de Mendonça died without heirs, it should succeed her husband D. João de Sousa, or the closest kin of the Silveira's family. The successors of this entail were also obligated to order the celebration of masses for her and her parents' soul. This entail is composed of "matos" and "arneiros" located in the place of "Virtudes", "marinhas" and "praias" called “Manois” , and the herdade of "Mendonças", on the outskirts of Avis.

Entail foundation deed by which António de Figueiredo, Fidalgo da Casa do Rei, and his wife, Isabel Vaz de Castelo Branco, establish an entail with their third parts, consisting of their leases in Vila Chã do Monte, Viseu. They bequeath them to their eldest son or daughter and their successors, with the obligation of ordering masses in the hermitage of Santo António of Vila Chã do Monte.

Entail foundation deed by which Francisco de Matos, Fidalgo da Casa do Rei, established an entail with his farmstead (quinta) in Via Longa and houses he had in Lisboa, designating his son, Simão de Matos, to administrate it. All the future administrators of the entail were obligated to support the celebration of 3 weekly masses in the chapel of Pedro de Alcáçova of the church of S. Bartolomeu and 2 anniversary masses, each year, in that church and in the church of Nossa Senhora of Via Longa.
Before dying, Isabel de Alcáçova, his wife, had agreed with the institution of this entail. She had left her husband the third part of assets to incorporate in it, through her will issued on 1523-10-20.

Entail foundation deed by which Tomé Salema established an entail, stipulating the payment of the studies of his nephews Diogo and António de Salema at the University of Coimbra. The institutor also established the obligation to celebrate masses in the Church of Alcácer do Sal, using all his assets located in the same place and in Brasil, where he had some slaves.

Entail foundation deed by which Maria Carneiro, João Álvares de Pamplona and Leonor Carneiro's daughter, established an entail with the legitime she had inherited from her late father, consisting of houses in Porto, a farmstead in Vilar de Andorinho ("quinta de Bairros"), and properties such as the "quinta do Lameiro", the "casal de Maçarelos", the "casal da Lagoa" and the "casal de Cinfães". She designated her brother, Gaspar de Pamplona, to administrate it, determining that him and his descendants had to support the celebration of 6 annual masses and maintain alight a lamp in the altar of Santíssimo Sacramento of the convent of S. Domingos of Porto.

Entail foundation deed by which Brás Teles de Meneses, membro do Conselho do Rei and coronel da gente da guerra, and his wife, D. Catarina Maria de Faro Henriques, established an entail, incorporating in it the third part of their assets, which comprised a farmstead in Lamarosa, Coruche, houses in Pampulha, Lisboa, and rents (foros) in the farmstead of Cotovia. They also entailed to it 8 tapestries depicting the life of S. João Batista and the weapons used by Brás Teles de Meneses. The institutors designated Fernando Teles de Meneses, their firstborn son, to succeed them in the entail's administration. All its future administrators were allowed to deposit their remains in the tomb erected by the founders.
Paulo da Rocha, curator of their eldest son, gave his approval to this deed.

Entail foundation deed by which João Correia de Lacerda established an entail, incorporating his farm of Togia, on the outskirts of Tomar, and a public debt instrument of 100 000 réis in Imposição dos Vinhos do Porto. He designated his nephew José Galvão de Lacerda to be its first administrator and he accepted all the conditions.

Entail foundation deed by which João Rodrigues Cansado established an entail, incorporating some houses, olive oil press, vegetable garden, olive groves and lands located in Abrantes in order to fulfill the pious charges. He designated his grandson João, son of Maria Rodrigues Cansado, deceased, to be its first administrator, and he should be succeeded by a legitimate son.

Entail foundation deed by which Rui de Melo, do Conselho do Rei, and Helena de Mesquita, promise to marry their children, respectively D. Joana da Silva and D. António de Melo, and establish an entail for them with the marriage's dowry, which shall be employed in acquiring immovable properties. The entail shall pass to the successors of this marriage and will have its chapel in the convent of S. Domingos of Évora.

Entail foundation deed by which Sebastião de Abreu, fidalgo da Casa do Rei e escrivão da sua Fazenda, and his wife, D. Antónia de Vasconcelos, establish an entail which they donate as a dowry to their eldest son, Gaspar de Abreu. They entail their farmsteads in Campolide, S. Bento and Alvalade, Lisboa, and other properties. Their entail shall be called entail of Santo Onofre, and shall be annexed to the chapel of the same invocation in the monastery of Santíssima Trindade, with an obligation of annual masses for their souls. If their son dies without descendants, the entail shall pass to his brother, Filipe de Abreu. Gaspar de Abreu is present, accepts these conditions and promises to annex his legitime to the entail.

Entail foundation deed made by Afonso Mexia. He entails a third of his assets, consisting of several estates, located in Alentejo, in the outskirts of Campo Maior, Arronches and Ouguela, up to a maximum value of 1 000 cruzados. He appoints Jerónimo Mexia, his son, as first administrator, to whom his eldest son should succeed.

Entail foundation deed made by Duarte Gomes da Silveira in which he ordered, among several dispositions, the foundation of an entail and chapel of the invocation of Salvador do Mundo in the church of the Misericórdia of Paraíba's captaincy, with a perpetual pious obligation of four masses celebrated every week as long as the world lasted and one sung mass on the day of Nossa Senhora das Neves. He named his son in law António Barbalho Bezerra and his wife Joana Gomes da Silveira, daughter of the institutor, as first administrators of the entail during their lifetimes, and, after their deaths, the succession should always continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir. No administrator could ever marry with a another person of the so-called 'infected races', under the penalty of loosing the administration. He recomended that no administrator should ever rise his own children with wine, as a root of sin. All administrators should annex one third of their own reserved portions to the entail. The institutor also disposed that all administrators should bear the surname Silveira and the coat of arms of the Gomes and Bezerras, adding a motto beneath it with the words Verdade e Felicidade (truth and happiness) that should be present in all their seals, chairs, curtains.

Entail foundation deed by which António Correia Velho and his wife Maria da Fonseca founded a chapel in the Church of Santa Maria de Alcáçova, in Montemor-o-Velho. Among other assets, they wanted to entail silverware.

Entail foundation deed by Luís de Figueiredo Falcão, instituting as heir is only child, António Heitor de Figueiredo.

Entail foundation deed by Bernardo do Amaral Castelo Branco, his second wife D. Paula de Vasconcelos da Silva and his son António do Amaral Castelo Branco entailing a public debt instrument, houses in Lisboa, houses and properties in Elvas and a country estate ("herdade") in Olivença.

Entail foundation deed by which José de Resende, Alcaide de Lisboa, Maria Neto, his mother, and Joana da Costa, his wife, established an entail with their farmstead located in the outskirts of Sesimbra (quinta da Faúlha). They appointed Sebastião de Resende, Maria Neto's son, to be its first administrator, determining that he and his heirs should support the celebration of annual masses in the chapel of São Valentim of the church of Santa Justa of Lisboa, where António de Resende (father, husband and father-in-law of the institutors) is buried. If none of Sebastião de Resende or José de Resende's descendants survived, the entail would be inherited by their closest male relative.
Sebastião de Resende accepted this deed and incorporated part of the farmstead that he owned in the entail.

Entail foundation deed by which Bento Pereira and Antónia Lopes, his wife, establish the entail's Lago. They entail Quinta do Lago, in the Couto of Rendufe, among several other properties, located on the outskirts of Braga and Barcelos. To the entail are added previous charges, determined by João Afonso and Beatriz Pereira, uncles of Beatriz Pereira, mother of Bento Pereira, celebrated in the church of Vila de Punhe. They also establish charges, celebrated in the chapel of the Confraria de Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Vila do Conde.

Entail foundation deed by Fernando Fiel Lugo in the island of Santiago of Cabo Verde, appointing as his successor his future male son, or female or a person appointed by him, before his death, if he doesn't have any children.

Entail foundation deed by which Manuel Mendes Ferreira established an entail, incorporating several assets composed of houses, vegetable garden and olive groves in Sardoal and Abrantes in order to fulfill the pious charges. He designated his son André Mendes Ferreira to be its first administrator. The administrator should appoint the successor of this entail among his children.

Entail foundation deed of D. Pedro da Costa of his properties, including quinta de Pancas, in Ribatejo, near Alcochete and Samora Correia, appointing João da Costa, his brother, as perpetual administrator, with the pious obligation of three weekly prayed masses of requiem, one for the soul of D. Jorge, cardinal of Portugal, another for the soul of D. Jorge da Costa, archbishop of Braga, both his uncles, and another one for his own soul. The notary accepted this donation on behalf of João da Costa and his successors, absents.

Entail foundation deed by Luís Teixeira Cabral and his wife in their farmstead of Lourenço Domingues, in Pinhel, annexed to their chapel of S. Sebastião, located in that farmstead.

Entail foundation deed by Rui Brandão, fidalgo da casa do rei. The founder reserves his "terça" and includes in it several urban and rural estates, the head of which is the "Torre de Pedro do Sem", located in the parish of S. Martinho de Cedofeira, outside the walls of Porto, to which the patronage of the church of S. Paio de Guimarei was attached. Rui Brandão appointed his son Luís Brandão, or alternatively Diogo Brandão, as the first administrator. The heirs of the entail would be the first-born sons, or daughters in the absence of male heirs. The heir had to be physically and mentally fit, excluding people of illegitimate descent, clerics, monks, friars and nuns. The administratores had to live in Porto, marry with their parents' consent, entail half of their "terças", use the Brandão's name and coat of arms, and pay an annual rent to Rui's daughters, who were nuns in the convents of S. Bento de Avé-Maria and S. Clara in Porto. Perpetual masses were to be celebrated in the convent of S. Francisco do Porto for the soul of the founder and his wife, Maria de Madureira. Three inventories were to be drawn up, containing the deed of foundation and the property, with the coat of arms of the instituter: one copy was to remain in the hands of the administrators, while the other two were to be kept in the Convent of S. Francisco, where the founder was to be buried, and in the Misericórdia of Porto.

Entail foundation deed by which Cosme de Castro established an entail with all the assets he had inherited from his late wife, Francisca da Cruz, and the third part of his assets. The future administrators were obligated to support the celebration of perpetual masses for the souls of Cosme and Francisca and to bury their remains inside the chapel of Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres, which was going to be erected in Povolide. If the administrators died in Vila Garcia, where most of the entailed assets were located, the annual masses should be celebrated in the chapel of S. João of that place. He appointed his grandson, Agostinho da Cunha, to administrate it.
Belchior de Castro and Maria da Cunha Cerqueira, his wife, attached to this entail the third part of their assets.

Entail foundation deed by Gaspar da Fonseca e Andrade in Montemor-o-Velho with masses in the church of Santa Maria da Alcáçova, in Montemor-o-Velho. The entail observes the conditions imposed by him in this entail foundation deed and in a previous donation of his wife, Leonor Mascarenhas. He appoints António da Fonseca de Andrade, his son, as his successor and leaves him the entail he owns in Seiça, in the outskirts of Ourém, with all its obligations.

Entail foundation deed by which André Soares, fidalgo da Casa do Rei e seu escrivão da Fazenda, and his wife, D. Maria Botelho, establish an entail with their third parts, consisting of houses and estates in Lisboa and other properties in the outskirts of the city. They designate their eldest son, Manuel Soares, as first administrator, and his descendants afterwards. The entail shall be associated to the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição which they established in the monastery of Santíssima Trindade of Lisboa, and to which was entailed a public debt instrument set in the Casa da Alfândega of Lisboa, with the obligation of a daily mass for their souls. The chapel would be administered by the administrators of the entail, but its properties were to be separated from it.
Manuel Soares is present, accepts the conditions of the entail and promises to entail his legitime to it.

Entail foundation deed by which Francisco Soares de Abreu established an entail with his houses in Lisboa, a rent (foro) of a wine barrel taken from a farmstead in Carcavelos, a public debt instrument of 100 000 réis and 1 000 cruzados. He designated his eldest son, Cristóvão Soares de Abreu, to administrate it, obligating him and his descendants to support the celebration of a daily perpetual mass in a church close to their residence. Cristóvão Soares de Abreu accepted this deed.

Entail foundation deed by which António de Sousa de Macedo and D. Mariana de Lemercier, his wife, change clauses of a previous entail foundation deed issued on 1673-11-08. They establish an entail with houses in Lisboa, a farmstead in that city ("quinta de Nossa Senhora da Luz"), lands in Carnide, a rent (foro) in Azambuja, properties in Benavente and the captaincy of Ilha Grande de Joanes, Brasil, designating their son, D. Luís Gonçalo de Sousa de Macedo, Barão da Ilha Grande de Joanes, to administrate it. The institutors attach this entail to the chapel they had founded in the convent of Nossa Senhora de Jesus, where their bodies and those of their descendants would be buried and annual masses would be celebrated for their souls. D. Luís Gonçalo de Sousa de Macedo and his wife, D. Mariana de Távora, approved this deed.

Entail foundation deed by Gaspar de Magalhães de Meneses, fidalgo da casa do rei, and his wife Catarina Barbosa. They both reserved their "terças", incorporating in this portion and in the entail the manor of Torre, in São Salvador de Vila Cova, together with their halves of the farmsteads of Pereira and Porta. The first administrator would be their first-born son, Tomé de Magalhães de Meneses. Tomé and his successors were forced to order the celebration of perpetual masses in the chapel of Santo António, located in the manor of Torre. After their son, the succession should run as it is stated in the "Ordenações" of the Kingdom. The successors were compelled to use the surnames Magalhães and Meneses. Clerics and illegitimate children were excluded from the administration, as well as those who had committed lese-majeste crimes.

Entail foundation deed by which Bento Bernardo de Seixas established an entail, entailing several properties of third part of his assets and appointing Francisco Bernardes de Seixas, his son, as administrator. The charges were to be celebrated in the chapel that the founder had ordered to be built in Casainho.

Entail foundation deed by D. João de Sousa de Castro and D. Catarina de Nóvoa Henriques, in Melgaço, with all their properties, both inherited from his late parents, Lopo de Castro and Francisca de Cavedo, and bought by them, annexing this new entail to his parents' entail, founded in 1601. They also order the building of a chapel in Melgaço, united to the town's mother church, with some pious obligations. One of the masses will be celebrated in the chapel of the entail of Fecho, in Roussas, in the outskirts of Melgaço, founded by Lopo de Castro and Francisca de Cavedo.

Entail foundation deed by Álvaro Afonso and Grimaneza Pereira, his wife, in Quinta do Paço, in couto de Barbeita, in the outskirts of Monção, to their nephew, Rodrigo Afonso Pereira, son of Pedro Vaz Pereira and Genebra Fernandes, their nephew and niece. They also order the mass celebration in the chapel they ordered to build in the church of S. Salvador of Barbeita.

Entail foundation deed by Isabel Cabral, widow of João Álvares de Caminha, with the remaining part of the available portion of her husband and with her own available portion, composed of her houses in Rua Nova, in Lisbon, which will be the entail's head, and her farmstead (quinta) in Romeira, in the outskirts of Almada, to her son, Manuel de Caminha, appointed as her successor. The institutor also orders that the entail's administrators will administer the chapel she built in the monastery of S. Francisco of Lisbon, with the pious obligation of a perpetual daily mass for her and her husband's soul. Manuel de Caminha was present and accepted this institution, being mentioned also as institutor.

Entail foundation deed by which Rui de Pina, fidalgo da Casa do Rei, cronista-mor do reino and guardião da Torre do Tombo, and his wife, Catarina Vaz de Gouveia, establish an entail with the third part of their properties. They bequeath it to their son, Fernando de Pina, fidalgo da Casa do Rei, and his descendants. They also establish a chapel in the new cathedral of Guarda, with invocation of the Holy Spirit, where they shall be buried and to where the bodies of their parents shall be transfered, with the obligation of eight annual masses for their souls, the souls of their parents, and the souls of D. João II, his wife D. Leonor, their son D. Afonso, and D. Manuel I. If Fernando de Pina dies without descendants, the entail shall be bequeathed to one of his sisters, Leonor de Pina, or, if she also dies without descendants, to their other sister, Isabel de Pina, wife of Fernando Brandão. Fernando de Pina is present, and accepts the conditions.

Entail foundation deed by which Isabel do Avelar, widow of doutor Gonçalo Vaz Pinto, do Desembargo do Rei, establishes an entail, fulfilling the will of Jerónimo de Figueiredo, deceased, son of her first marriage to Henrique de Figueiredo. She entails her quinta in Ribas de Alenquer, instead of the property appointed in her son's will, with an obligation of four masses in the church of Santa Justa of Lisboa, and another mass in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. She appoints her other son, António de Figueiredo, cavaleiro da Casa do Rei, as first administrator, and his successors thereafter. If António de Figueiredo dies without descendance, the entail shall be bequeathed to Leonor de Avelar, Isabel do Avelar's niece.

Entail foundation deed by which Álvaro Cardoso revokes a previous foundation deed. He entails several assets for the fulfilment of charges, celebrated in the church where he was buried and in the monastery of São Francisco of Santarém. He appointed Álvaro Cardoso to be the first administrator during his lifetime, with the obligation of endowing Leonor Cardoso for her wedding. After his death, he shall be succeeded by his eldest son, being legitimate.

Entail foundation deed in which Frei Bartolomeu de Santo Agostinho and Miguel de Abreu, Ana de Abreu’s brothers, fulfiled her will by executing the deed in front of the provedor dos resíduos, including the necessary conditions and obligations. The entail was instituted by Ana de Abreu, who chose her brother Miguel de Abreu as the first owner. Frei Bartolomeu de Santo Agostinho and Miguel de Abreu stipulated that Miguel Abreu’s eldest son should succeed him or, if he did not have a son, his eldest daughter. They provided detailed alternatives for succession, where males should always precede females. If the direct line of descendants of Miguel de Abreu were to end, other lines of the family would be considered except for the offspring of D. Margarida, Isabel de Abreu’s daughter. Illegitimate succession could only be considered as a last resort and clerical succession could occur before passing the entail to a transversal line. Other conditions for succession are detailed, including the pious charges Ana de Abreu established and the obligation of successors to annex a third of their assets. The remaining amount of Ana Abreu’s assets was delivered to Miguel de Abreu, who was to invest it to enrich the entail. It inserts an extract from Ana de Abreu’s will.

Entail foundation deed by which Amador Rodrigues, mercador de sedas, and Maria de Castanheda, his wife, established an entail with the third part of their assets, including 3 houses in Lisboa. They designated Simão Rodrigues Castanheda, their youngest son, to become its first administrator. If he died before being able to administrate it, the entail would be inherited by Francisco Rodrigues Castanheda, his eldest brother. The future administrators were all obligated to support the celebration of 42 annual masses for the institutor's souls in the chapel of Jesus of the church of S. Julião of that city. They declared that their bodies had to be buried in that chapel.

Entail foundation deed by which Vasco Fernandes César and his wife, Inês Gonçalves Batavias, establish and entail with their third parts. They designate their eldest son, Luís César, as first administrator, and his descendants afterwards. They establish an obligation of two weekly masses and other annual masses in the chapel of Cinco Chagas de Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo of the monastery of Santíssima Trindade, where they wish to be buried, to which they entail their houses in Lisboa. All the administrators of the entail must also succeed on the administration of the chapel established by Catarina Vaz, wife of Paio Lourenço, in the church of São Nicolau of Santarém, which they currently administered.

Entail foundation deed by which Diogo Salema, fidalgo da Casa do Rei e do seu Conselho, and his wife, D. Maria Salema, entail their third parts, consisting of public debt instruments in the Casa da Portagem, the Câmara de Lisboa and in the tábua de Setúbal, the estate of Pinheiro, in Montemor-o-Novo, and the estate of Monte da Vinha, in Alcácer do Sal. They bequeath it to their minor son, Cristóvão Salema, and to his descendants. The administrators of the entail will have to pay the obligations of the chapel they ordered in the church of Nossa Senhora da Graça of Setúbal.

Entail foundation deed by which António de Melo and his wife Inês Leitão established an entail, appointing their son Nuno de Melo be its first administrator. He has due to order the celebration of masses in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Purificação de Bucelas and in the Ermida of São Nicolau, located in their farm in Bucelas. This entail is composed of a farm in Bucelas, with its houses, orchards, olive groves, vineyards and lands. The institutors also confirmed the fulfilment of Manuel Freire's chapel obligations and appointed their son to be its successor after their death.

Entail foundation deed by which Nicolau Rodrigues de Sequeira established an entail, donating his proprieties to his nephew Domingos de Sousa Santiago Ferraz and to his wife D. Teresa Francisca de Vilhena. The institutor designated both to be its first administrators and established that they were due to order the celebration of masses for his soul. This entail should be succeeded by their heirs and they were also obligated to incorporate two parts of their third. The institutor's nephew and his wife accepted this donation and conditions. This entail is composed of houses and vineyards located in Barreiro, and a farm on the outskirts of Lisboa.

Entail foundation deed by which Bento de Baena Sanches established an entail, designating his son Francisco to be its first administrator. This entail has the obligation to celebrate masses, using the rents of somes houses located in Lisboa; a public debt instrument of 135 000 réis in Senado and another of 40 000 réis in Casa das Carnes; and other rents from a farm called "Massaroca", located in Sacavém. The successors are obligated to incorporate their legítima into this entail. After the death of his son, it should succeed his daughter Luísa, and after her death the eldest son of his brother João Sanches de Baena. He had a natural son called Pedro, friar of the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça, and established to the administrator the obligation to give him some rents from this entail.

Entail foundation and annexation deed by Simão da Cunha and D. Luísa de Almeida, his wife, with the remaining of their available portions, entailing it to the entail founded by Guiomar de Sequeira, D. Luísa's mother, in her will, dated from 1568, and mentioning the previous entail foundation and annexation deed, dated from 1596-03-31. They also declare that Francisco Botelho, uncle of D. Luísa, bequeathed, in his codicil, 2000 cruzados to this entail, with the pious obligation of ten prayed masses and five sung masses in Nossa Senhora de Triana, in the town of Alenquer. The institutors describe all the entail foundation clauses and mention that the entail founded by Guiomar de Sequeira included her available portion, a part of the available portion of Simão Ferreira, her husband, and the reserved portions of Ana da Madre de Deus, their daughter and sister of D. Luísa de Almeida. They also request to the king the confirmation of this entail foundation deed.

Entail foundation and annexation deed by Simão da Cunha and D. Luísa de Almeida, his wife, with the remaining of their available portions and entailing it to the entail founded by Guiomar de Sequeira, D. Luísa's mother, in her will, dated from 1578-05-13. The institutors describe all the entail foundation clauses and mention that the entail founded by Guiomar de Sequeira included her available portion, a part of the available portion of Simão Ferreira, her husband, and the reserved portions of Ana da Madre de Deus, their daughter and sister of D. Luísa de Almeida. They also request to the king the confirmation of this entail foundation deed.

Entail and chapel foundation deed by Reverendo doutor Dionísio de Figueiredo de Gouveia, deão of cathedral of Viseu, with masses in the church of Mouronho. His brothers, licenciado Manuel da Fonseca de Gouveia, António da Fonseca de Gouveia and Baltasar da Fonseca de Gouveia, also entail some properties concerning their parents' reserved portion. Dionísio de Figueiredo de Gouveia appoints as first administrator, after his and his brother's death, one of the sons of Baltasar da Fonseca de Gouveia.

Entail and chapel foundation deed by Father Bartolomeu Velho, parish priest in São Julião de Freixo. Bartolomeu declares that he had built an hermitage in Navió dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Assunção, to which he entailed estates. The administrator of the chapel was to be named in a later will. However, the succession to the chapel was to be by blood, with clerics being preferred. If there were no clerics, the administration would be in the hands of a layman appointed by the last owner. All administrators were obliged to use the family name, to inherit estates and to be Old Christians. Illegitimate children were excluded from the administration.

Entail and chapel foundation deed by Gonçalo Lobo de Mesquita and Jerónima Correia. They entailed their farmsted of Vilarinho de São Romão, with a chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Salvação, in which a brotherhood was instituted, atributing to the entail's administrator the role of surveiling the brotherhood's activities. Clerics were excluded from the succession, and the administrators were to use the surname Lobo and the coat of arms of both the Lobos and the Barbosas. Presumptive heirs who married without their parents' consent, with people of lesser honor and wealth, were excluded from the succession.

Entail and chapel foundation deed by Pantaleão Ferreira, fidalgo da casa do rei and knight of the Order of Christ. Pantaleão appoints his son João Martins Ferreira as the first administrator, who will also possess the entail established by Pantaleão's father, João Martins Ferreira, with a chapel in the monastery of S. Domingos, in Porto. The founder spituales that the successor to the entail should be primarily the first-born son, forced to use his family name in public and private documents.

Entail and chapel foundation deed by Gonçalo de Araújo da Silva and his wife Maria de Caldas Bacelar. The couple declared that they had founded a chapel in their farmstead of Eiras, in São Salvador de Pedralva, the construction of which had not yet been completed but was to be finished, with the images of São Gonçalo and Santa Maria inside. They entailed properties and rents to the chapel, with the perpetual obligation to celebrate masses every sunday for the souls of the founders. The first administrator would be their son-in-law, Sebastião Machado de Azevedo, who had the power to appoint a relative to succeed him, excluding clerics and forbidding marriages with people of Jewish, Moorish, black or mulatto descent. The administrators were obliged to use the family name and to entail properties. The deed of foundation had to be registered in the "Livro das Capelas do Registo Geral" of Braga.

Entail and chapel foundation deed by which Pedro Carreiro, cavaleiro da Ordem de Cristo, and Leonor Nunes de Macedo, his wife, establish a chapel in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, where they wish to be buried. They entail 20 000 reis of interest and Pedro Carreiro's properties to an obligation of a daily mass, an annual divine office and the obligation of marrying an orphan every year. Pedro Carreiro appoints his wife, Leonor Nunes de Macedo, as his universal heir. After their deaths, the entail shall be given to Paulo Carreiro, Pedro Carreiro's cousin and to his children, afterwards.

Entail and chapel foundation deed by which Manuel Soares de Vilas Boas e Vilhegas, fidalgo da Casa do Rei, widower of D. Guiomar Nunes Angel, establishes an entail, according to a previous will he had made with his wife. He entails both their third parts, consisting of houses in Lisboa and properties in Beja, and establishes a daily mass in the church of Madre de Deus de Xabregas, Lisboa, where he wishes to be buried. He appoints their eldest son, Jerónimo Soares de Vilhegas, as first administrator. Jerónimo Soares de Vilhegas and his wife, D. Madalena de Távora, are both present and accept to annex their third parts to the entail. Manuel Soares Vilas Boas, minor, grandson of the institutors and son of Jerónimo Soares de Vilhegas and his previous wife, D. Arcângela de Noronha, is also present, and promises to annex his legitime to the entail, as future administrator.

Entail and chapel foundation deed by Manuel Ribeiro Coelho and his sister Maria Coelho. The rents of the entail were attached to the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, in Gafanhão. After their deaths, the administration would pass to their niece Francisca Coelho; if she died without descendants, his brother Domingos Teixeira would take possession of the entail. The successor would preferably be the first-born son and was obliged to use the surnames Ribeiro or Coelho.

Entail and chapel foundation deed by Gonçalo Jacome. Gonçalo decided to entail his lands in Aldeia da Torre in a "capela e vínculo de morgado". The first administrator was to be his daughter Catarina Jacome, married to Gonçalo Ferreira, or alternatively the descendants of Gonçalo Jacome's brothers, Domingos, Catarina Francisca or Paulo Jacome. The administrators had the right to appoint one of their children as their successor. However, people of illegitimate descent were excluded. The administrators were obliged to use the surname Jacome and to celebrate masses at the Espírito Santo altar in Santa Maria da Aveleda church.

Dowry deed by which Guiomar Vaz do Peral, Pedro Godinho's widow, donates her third part, composed of her properties in Elvas, as an entail to Cristóvão Godinho, her son, with an obligation of masses in the convent of S. Domingos of that city, where she wishes to be buried.

Dowry deed by which João de Meira Carrilho, canon of Braga Cathedral and commissioner of the Inquisition, son of Gonçalo de Meira and Beatriz Mendes, decided to endow his great-niece Isabel de Meira Carrilho, daughter of Gonçalo Carrilho and Ana da Costa, by her marriage to Estêvão Falcão, fidalgo da casa do rei and son of Manuel Falcão Costa and Ana Maria Teixeira. João de Meira Carrilho left a farmstead in São Miguel do Couto, along with 10,000 cruzados to be used for the purchase of a house and land, declaring that all this property would be entailed. The couple would be the first owners, followed by their descendants, with preference given to first-born sons. The administrators were obliged to use the family name of Meira and to pay for the celebration of 50 annual masses in the Church of Espírito Santo, located in the São Marcos Hospital in Braga, where João de Meira Carrilho would be buried. João de Meira Carrilho also declares that he was the administrator of an entail, located in Castelo de Vide, which had been founded by his father João de Meira, chaplain to the late Infante and Cardinal D. Henrique, and to which he appointed his niece as administrator, since she was of "his blood and generation". João de Meira Carrilho acquired more lands and imposed more masses to be celebrated. He also instructed his heirs to place an image of Christ in the chapel of the mother church of Castelo de Vide. The image was engraved with the relics of several saints. It had belonged to the Emperor Charles V and was given to Manuel Álvares Cardoso when he was secretary to the Marquis of Arronches in Madrid, who bequeathed it to João de Meira Carrilho. In view of its importance, the image and the relics engraved in it were considered to be the head of the entail.

Dowry deed by which João de Valadares Carneiro and his wife Catarina Pereira donated their assets to their son Luís de Valadares in order to get married with Ana do Amaral. They established an entail using their thirds, with the obligation to celebrate masses in the Misericórdia do Porto and Church of S. Bento, S. Geraldo and Chagas. This entail should be succeeded by his eldest son and the future successors should also incorporate half of their thirds into this entail. The institutor's son was donated with the farm of Veiga de Poucos and the "prazo" of São João da Foz. If the grooms did not live in the institutors' house, they should receive the rents of a public debt instrument of 100 000 réis in Imposição dos Vinhos, 12 000 réis in the houses of "Abelheiro" belonging to the chapel of Maria Carneiro, the prazo of "Meixeira" and Quebrantões, a "herdade" on the outskirts of Barcelos and a vineyard located in Mosteiro.

Dowry deed by which Gaspar Coelho, Cavaleiro da Ordem de Cristo, and Catarina de Arvelos, his sister, donate part of a farmstead in Olivais ("quinta da Bela Vista") and houses in Rua das Parreiras, Lisboa, to D. Helena de Andrade, Gaspar's daughter and Catarina's niece, in order to support her marriage to João de Alpoim de Brito. The groom, the bride and their descendants are henceforth obligated to sustain the celebration of 12 annual masses for Catarina de Arvelos' soul in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of that city. Furthermore, the father of the bride gives the couple the captaincy of a carrack of Carreira da Índia, which the King had granted him 30 years before that date.
D. Helena de Andrade and João de Alpoim de Brito give their consent to this deed. Contains a copy of a letter of attorney issued on 1613-05-25.

Dowry deed by which D. Pedro de Meneses, Conde de Vila Real, promised to give 20 000 dobras mouriscas to his daughter, D. Beatriz de Meneses, and D. Fernando de Noronha, her groom, to enable their marriage. Since he had already given 5 000 dobras to D. Fernando, he committed himself to deliver the remaining part in the following years. A considerable portion of the dowry should be paid with lands located in Portugal, which would be incorporated in an entail. After the death of D. Beatriz de Meneses, it would be administrated by her eldest legitimate son and transmitted to his descendants.
As a guaranty that he would fulfil that promise, D. Pedro de Meneses gave the possession of the following properties to the couple: a farmstead in the Julgado de Palhais ("quinta do Chão de Couce"); all the rents and rights attached to the Julgado de Avelar; a property in Rapoula; lands in the Julgados de Aguda, Maçãs e Pousa Foles; assets in Torres Novas; the village of Alcoentre; a farmstead in Vila Franca ("quinta das Lameiras"); two farmsteads in Lisboa ("quinta da Charneca"; "quinta da Palma") and another in Cabeça de Alporche ("quinta de Alcouvar").
D. Fernando de Noronha gave 4 000 dobras mouriscas as a dower to his future wife.

Dowry deed by Manuel Martins Brandão to his niece, D. Antónia Brandão, to marry to Inácio Bettencourt e Câmara, giving them 30.000 cruzados and, after his death, all his assets as an entail of perpetual succession. After the couple's death, their eldest male son will succeed in this entail. He also orders the celebration of a chanted mass in the chapel of the church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Funchal. Manuel Martins Brandão declares that D. Antónia Brandão will administrate too the assets, located in Campanário, belonging to the chapel founded by Domingos Fernandes. Inácio de Bettencourt e Câmara accepted this dowry and he and D. Antónia Brandão committed themselves to fulfil all its clauses, conditions and obligations.

Dowry deed between Maria Figueira de Gouveia and D. António da Silva and D. Ana Maria de Vilhegas, his wife, represented by licenciado Francisco de Figueiredo Cabral, their attorney-in-fact, to marry D. Isabel Queimada de Vilalobos, daughter of Maria Figueira de Gouveia, to D. Manuel da Silva Vilhegas, son of D. António da Silva and D. Ana Maria de Vilhegas, giving them their real estate and founding an entail. After the death of D. Isabel Queimada de Vilalobos and D. Manuel da Silva Vilhegas will succeed in this entail their eldest male son. D. Isabel Queimada de Vilalobos and Francisco de Figueiredo Cabral, on behalf of D. Manuel da Silva Vilhegas, accepted this dowry and entail.
Contains: two letters of attorney, dated from 1630-08-17, and two certificates of the notary's handwriting, dated from 1630-08-21.

Dowry deed by which D. Luísa Inês de Távora, former lady of the queen, daughter of D. Inês Antónia de Távora and of João de Saldanha de Sousa, makes an agreement with her fiancé, Aires de Saldanha de Meneses e Sousa, do Conselho do Rei, to establish an entail with the dowry they have just agreed on. The entail shall be headed by the noble houses they have near the convent of Nossa Senhora de Jesus of Lisboa and shall be inherited by the eldest son of this marriage. If they have no descendants the entail shall be dissolved. If their descendants' line is extinguished, the entail shall pass to the Misericórdia of Lisboa with an obligation of two daily masses for the institutors' souls.

Dowry deed by which Lopo Gomes de Abreu de Lima, fidalgo da Casa do Rei e comendador de Seixas e Lanhelas, da Ordem e Mestrado de Cristo, donates as a dowry to his daughter, D. Maria de Abreu e de Soutomaior, on the occasion of her marriage to D. Fernando Eanes de Soutomaior, senhor das fortalezas de Soutomaior and Fornelos, in Galiza, his properties in Regalados, in the condado of Valadares, in Fraião and in Monção, as an entail, to be incorporated to the house and entail of Soutomaior. He also bequeaths them his leases of quinta da Agra and casal de Gondolim, the revenue of his commendations, and his chapel in the chancel of the church of the monastery of Santa Maria of Mosteiró, where his successors shall be buried, and as patrons of his churches and chapels, which shall also be incorporated in his entail and in the entail of Soutomaior. If the couple dies without children, the entail will revert to its founder or to the person chosen by his daughter, if he is already deceased. D. Fernando Eanes de Soutomaior is present and accepts the conditions.

Dowry deed by which D. João de Meneses e Vasconcelos, Conde de Penela, and Lopo Soares, membro do Conselho do Rei, gave dowries to their son and daughter, D. Afonso and D. Guiomar, who were going to marry. Lopo Soares, who was about to embark for Índia, promised to give to D. Afonso, in the next 5 years, 1 conto de réis, pensions appraised at 100 000 réis and the position of Capitão dos Ginetes. He also left the entail he had established with his late wife to his daughter, D. Guiomar, entailing to it the third part of his assets. The entail was already composed of a farmstead ("quinta de Albufeira") and a public debt instrument of 200 000 réis. He revoked a clause of the entail's institution, exempting its administrators of the obligation of entailing the third part of his assets to it. However, they had to use the institutor's family name and coat of arms. If D. Afonso and D. Guiomar were not able to leave descendants, the entail's succession would be determined taking into account the foundation deed of the "morgadio de Soalhães", administrated by the Conde de Penela. D. João de Meneses e Vasconcelos committed himself to give 120 000 réis, each year, to the couple. Contains copies of 5 warrants and a letter of attorney.

Dowry deed by which D. Violante Ribeiro donates as a dowry to her son, António Ribeiro de Barros, on his marriage to D. Francisca Borges de Meneses, the entail established by her parents, which she inherited after her brother's death. She annexes to it her farmstead of Pêra-Manca, in Évora. She also establishes its pious obligations, which her parents had left to their heirs' choice, to be prayed in its chapel in the convent of Salvador of Évora. António Ribeiro de Barros and D. Francisca Borges de Meneses, represented by Gabriel de Almeida de Vasconcelos, accept the dowry conditions.

Dowry deed by Francisco de Faria to his daughter D. Ana de Faria to marry to Rui Dias de Meneses, founding an entail with assets in Meca, in the outskirts of Alenquer, and in the island of S. Tomés and with masses in the church of Santa Quitéria, in Meca.

Dowry deed by which D. João de Meneses Soutomaior, conde de Cantanhede, and D. Diogo Forjaz Pereira, conde da Feira, establish the dowry of their respective daughter and son, D. Joana da Silva and D. Manuel Pereira, who were to marry each other.
D. João de Meneses gives them his assets in Olivença and his farmstead of Cucena, Almada, as an entail. The entail shall also include the legitimes which belonged to D. Joana's siblings, who authorized this donation. The entail shall always be owned by the possessor of the entail of Castelo da Feira, which belongs to the Crown, but shall not be annexed to it. D. João de Meneses Soutomaior, as attorney-in-fact of his daughter, accepted this foundation and annexed her reserved portion to this entail.
D. Diogo Forjaz Pereira, in his name and on behalf of his wife, D. Ana de Meneses, and of their son, D. Manuel Pereira, accepts this entail's foundation and promises to fullfil its clauses. He donates to the nubents their land of Pereira de Jusã, which shall also always be possessed by the owner of the entail of Castelo da Feira, but not annexed to the entail.

Dowry deed between Jorge Pessanha and D. Maria de Góis, his wife, and João Rodrigues Pessanha, widower of Joana de Mancelos and brother of Jorge Pessanha, to marry their offspring, D. Beatriz de Sousa and Ambrósio Pessanha, respectively. João Rodrigues Pessanha founded an entail with his wife and her available portions, which include half of Quinta de Cabedal and some other properties bought by him and his brother, Jorge Pessanha, giving it as a dowry to his son. He also gives to his son all his entailed assets, namely in Moreira, in the outskirts of Olivença, which belongs to the entail of Afonso de Aboim, and in Valadas, in the outskirts of Campo Maior. Jorge Pessanha and D. Maria de Góis give to their daughter, as part of her dowry, the entail that he owns in Quinta da Moreira, founded by Afonso de Aboim, and other entailed assets, listed in this deed, belonging to the entails of Ambrósio Pessanha, Fernando Rodrigues Pessanha and Teresa Eanes.

Dowry deed in which padre Manuel Fernandes Vitória ordered the foundation of an entail and simultaneously endowed Francisco de Machado Faria with several properties in Rabo do Peixe and Sete Cidades, in S. Miguel Island, donated to him on the occasion of his marriage with Mariana de Faria Vitória, his niece. He named them to be the first administrators of the entail and, preferably, their eldest male descendants after them, who would have the perpetual obligation of a daily mass in the chapel of N. Sra. da Vitória, in Relva, S. Miguel island, always celebrated by a relative. The administrators would also be obliged to support the costs of the festivities in honour of N. Sra. da Vitória during 21 years. Every administrator should bare the surname "Vitória" or, otherwise, lose the administration. No clergyman or convict on the crime of lese-majeste could inherit the administration. If the bloodline of the first administrators was ever extinguished, the entail should be transmitted and annexed to the entail founded by António Lopes de Faria.

Dowry deed made in Portalegre in which Fernando Aires Delicado endowed his son Gaspar Caldeira de Castelo Branco with an estate named Herdade d'Abreu in Portalegre's district, on the occasion of his marriage with Mariana Chamisa, who lived in Valença, kingdom of Castille, thereby ordering the foundation of an entail with a perpetual pious obligation of one mass celebrated every year as long as the world lasted. This entail would be administrated by future husband and wife and their heirs, preferably the eldest male. All administrators were obliged to use the surname Aires or otherwise lose the administration.
Contains a letter of attorney written in Castillan.

Dowry deed by which D. João de Meneses Soutomaior founded an entail and endowed his daughter D. Joana de Meneses with the assets belonging to his third and her brother's legitime. He wanted her daughter to marry D. Manuel Pereira, son of D. Diogo Pereira, senhor do Condado de Cantanhede, and his wife D. Joana de Meneses. This entail should be succeeded by her eldest son, or daughter, and was composed of assets located in Olivença and in the farm of "Carcena". The grooms' parents established that they wanted to incorporat their "Morgado da Feira" into this entail, which was composed of some lands located in Vale de Cambra. Preceded by documents dated between 1554-11-19 and 1555-12-18.

Donation deed from D. Manuel, king of Ternate, of the Amboino and Ceirão islands, in the Moluccas archipelago, to Jordão de Freitas to own them as an entail.

Donation deed through which D. Pedro de Castilho, Bispo de Leiria, donates lands (casais) in Golegã to his nephew, Diogo de Castilho, with the obligation of celebrating masses for the souls of Pedro's parents in the altar of S. João Baptista of the Mosteiro de Santa Cruz of Coimbra. Diogo de Castilho gives his consent to this donation.

Donation deed by which Domingos Ribeiro Cirne, Deputado da Mesa da Consciência e Concelho das Ordens, donated to his brother Lourenço Peixoto Cirne, cavaleiro professo na Ordem de Cristo, all his movable and immovable goods in order to establish an entail. His brother should succeed in this entail with the obligation to order the celebration of masses in the Church of São Cristóvão, in Lisboa. After his death, he should be succeed by his eldest son Cristóvão Peixoto and his heirs. If his brother died before his wife D. Maria de Sequeira, his widow should succeed in this entail, until the marriage of their eldest son. The successors were also obligated to incorporate the half of their "legítimas" if they were single, or their thirds if they were married. This entail is composed of some houses located in the parish of São Cristóvão, and a farm of Caparica, located in Murfacém, on the outskirts of Almada. The institutor's brother Lourenço Peixoto Cirne accepted these obligations.

Donation deed by which Maria Teresa de Leiria, Filipe de Araújo Pacheco's widow, donated a farmstead (quinta) in Olivais, Lisboa, houses in that city and a vineyard in Caparica to D. Francisca Antónia de Brito, D. Francisca Maria de Brito's daughter, niece of the donor, thus instituting an entail. The entail's first administrator had the obligation to give, each year, 3 000 réis to one of the daughters of Doutor Manuel Freire de Ocanha; the same amount of money to Maria Ana de Miranda, Dinis de Barros' wife, if she became a widow and 2 000 réis to Manuel de Padilha de Miranda's daughter, who was a nun in the convent of Santa Ana. The entail's future administrators had to support the celebration of annual masses for the institutor's soul in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa.
The donor also declared that any assets which could be obtained at the end of the legal dispute opposing her to João da Fonseca, Maria da Conceição and Gaspar Abreu de Freitas, concerning the patrimony of her late brother, Simão Monteiro de Leiria, should be incorporated in the entail.
D. Francisca Antónia de Brito gave her consent to this deed.

Donation deed by which the cónego André Rodrigues donates an estate in Redemoinhos and other properties in Elvas to D. Pedro de Mesquita, as an entail, with the obligation of ordering an annual mass for the soul of bailio frei Pedro de Mesquita in the chapel of Santo António of the cathedral of Elvas. The entail shall pass to his children or, if he dies without successors, to his brother, D. Manuel, or to other members of their family.

Donation deed by which Aníbal Sernige donates to Manuel Sernige, his son, several properties located on the outskirts of Porto, Feira, Aveiro, Esgueira and Ílhavo, as an entail. The administrator was responsible for appointing the successor from among his sons. If not, it would be for the eldest. The charges were to be celebrated in the hermitage of Nossa Senhora, in the place of Sá, on the outskirts of Ílhavo. In case of extinction of the lineage, he would stay in that hermitage. Manuel Sernige and Maria Ferreira, his wife, accept the conditions of the donation, undertake to fulfill the charges and attach other properties to the entail.

Donation deed by Gaspar Dias and Ana de Medeiros, his wife, founding an entail with their available portions and appointing André Dias de Medeiros, their son, as first administrator. André Dias de Medeiros accepted the donation and promised to fulfil all the clauses and conditions.

Donation deed by which Bento Nunes, cónego in the cathedral of Elvas, donates to D. António Lobo and his wife, D. Joana de Mesquita, an estate in Elvas, as an entail, with the obligation of an annual mass in the chapel of Santo António of his cathedral. Manuel da Veiga and his wife confirm the conditions and promise to make an entail of 80 000 cruzados which shall be incorporated in this one, which was worth 54 000 cruzados, so the entail would always have properties totaling 134 000 cruzados. They request royal confirmation. Rui Lopes da Veiga is present and accepts these conditions.

Declaration deed by which frei Pedro de Mesquita, comendador da Ordem de S. João do Hospital de Jerusalém and bailio de Lango e Leça, confirms the renounciation of a house, orchard and vineyards in Elvas that his brother, António de Mesquita, made to his son, Álvaro de Mesquita, and establishes the conditions of this donation, as had been accorded. He declares that these properties will be entailed to an annual mass for his soul over his tomb or in the chapel of Santo António of the cathedral of Elvas, where his parents are buried. After Álvaro's death, the entail will pass to his children. If he doesn't have successors, it will pass to his sister, D. Joana de Mesquita, and to her children, or to their brother, Alexandre de Mesquita. If his heirs don't fulfil the obligations, the entail will pass to the administrator of the entail founded by Álvaro de Mesquita and his wife, Pedro de Mesquita's parents. Álvaro de Mesquita is present, confirms the donation and accepts the conditions.

She and her brother, Nuno Álvares Pereira, establish the clauses of succession of the entail, which shall be inherited by their brother, António Pereira, and his successors.

Contract and bond deed by which D. Antónia Pereira and D. Leonor da Silva, nuns in the monastery of Lorvão, relinquish the properties they ought to inherit from their mother, D. Maria da Silva, for the foundation of an entail, in exchange of an annual fee and a monetary compensation. They establish the clauses of succession of this entail with their brother, Nuno Álvares Pereira, represented by Gonçalo Vieira, who accepts the conditions. The monastery acknowledges that the promised sums were duly paid.

Contract and bond deed between the priests of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Monte do Carmo de Lisboa and Álvaro Pacheco and his son-in-law, Diogo Fernandes das Póvoas. It reinforces a previous agreement in which the priests granted them a chapel in the convent's church to serve as a burial site for them, their wives, and descendants, under a set of detailed conditions. Álvaro Pacheco and Diogo Fernandes established perpetual pious charges, including masses in the chapel, and agreed to pay an annual rent in wheat to ensure their fulfilment. After their death, the chapel would be administrated by Álvaro Pacheco, o Moço, respectively their grandson and son. Álvaro Pacheco strengthens this entail by giving his grandson three properties, described in detail along with the conditions for the entail's transmission.

The king granted the confirmation letter after Provedor of comarca made the ordered inquiries to confirm Pedro Álvares de Abreu de Sousa's declarations.

Confirmation letter by the king of a court sentence concerning an entail foundation to D. Lourenço de Lima Brito e Nogueira, describing the sentence pronounced by Casa da Suplicação, in 1646-03-15. By this sentence, the court judged that the entail of Santo Estêvão of Beja was founded by Martinho Afonso de Brito, bishop of Évora, around 1347, with some pious obligations and the obligation to all his descendants to use the family name and the family coat of arms. The sentence is now valid as the entail foundation deed.

Codicil by which Cristóvão de Brito, D. Beatriz de Ataíde's husband, member of the Conselho do Rei, establishes an entail with public debt instruments and a farmstead (quinta) in Ribatejo, appointing João de Brito, his nephew, to be its first administrator. The latter and his descendants are obligated to support the celebration of annual masses for the soul of the institutor in the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Assunção of the church of the monastery of Madre de Deus of Lisboa and to maintain alight a lamp inside it. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1560-03-25 and an opening deed issued on 1561-08-09.
