After her death, Fernando da Cunha should inherit the chapel and transmit it to Ana Catarina da Cunha, his daughter.

Will (extract) by which Beatriz Eanes asks to be buried in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, where her father-in-law, Rui Dias do Pao, is buried. She establishes an entail with her part of the herdade do Bussalfão, Évora, which shall be inherited by her husband, João Rodrigues do Pao, and, after his death, by their eldest son, Rui Dias. If he dies without descendants, it shall be inherited by one of their other sons, João Rodrigues or Diogo Afonso.

He appoints his cousin D. Maria de Almeida to be the first administrator, but only if his wife D. Simoa, had no children of his own. He orders that 20 000 cruzados should be given to the Misericórdia de Lisboa in order to pay for the ransom of portuguese captives in Africa.

Will (extract) by which Fernando Lopes and his wife Leonor Afonso established an entail, incorporating the third part of their assets, which included the "herdade da Renda" and the "herdade da Brunheira", on the outskirts of Avis. They designated their son António Fernandes to be its first administrator and, after his death, his son Leonardo, grandson of the institutors.

Will (extract) of Aires de Meira, referring a list of assets composed of houses, vineyards and olive groves on the outskirts of Portalegre, and the respective pious charges. He designated his wife Beatriz Dias to be its first administrator and, after her death, his sister Ana de Meira. Will (extract) by which Pedro da Maia left all his possessions to his nephews, sons of his brother Francisco da Maia, for the fulfillment of some pious obligations in the monastery of São Domingos of Elvas. Will (extract) by which Carlos Nunes, o Velho, designates his son, Luís Gomes Nunes, as his heir. He bequeaths him the remaining part of his properties in Elvas and a public debt instrument in the Almoxarifado of that city, with an obligation of a daily mass for his soul, the soul of his deceased wife, Violante Álvares, the souls of his parents and the souls of his deceased sons, Gonçalo Rodrigues Nunes and António Gomes Nunes. He orders that these masses shall be prayed in the cathedral of Elvas, where he wishes to be buried.

Will (extract) by which Brás Figueira Lobo and his wife, Filipa de Almada, establish an entail. They unite the third parts of their assets, the money entailed to the chapel of Brás Figueira Lobo's parents, in the convent of S. Francisco. The institutor appointed her brother, Gonçalo Pinto de Mesquita, as her universal heir, executor and successor in the entail's administration.

Will (extract) of António Fernandes and Maria Ferreira, founding an entail by several properties with pious legacies in the monastery of São Domingos do Porto, appointing as the first administrator Diogo Homem Pinto, their nephew.

He appointed his nephew João Leite Pereira as administrator, to be succeeded by his first-born son, excluding illegitimate children and forcing the administrators to use the Leite Pereira family name. The children of Francisca de Castro were excluded from the succession. A charge of perpetual masses to be celebrated in the chapel of Nossa Senhora do Desterro was attached to the entail.

He chose his grandson, João, to administrate it, obligating him and his descendants to support the celebration of 2 annual masses for the souls of the institutor's parents, João Sobrinho and Teresa Vaz. If João died without heirs, the chapel would be administrated by António, Guiomar Domingues' son, or his offspring.

Will (extract) by Maria Lourenço, instituting an entail with pious obligations. Part of the estates should be placed in the care of her mother, Catarina Lourenço, and the other, namely a house in Elvas, shoud be delivered to her brother Francisco Reboleiro. He bequeaths them to his cousin, Martinho Ferreira, whom he raised, with the obligation of two masses in his and his son's memory in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. After the death of Martinho Ferreira, the entail shall be inherited by his eldest son, Doutor António Ferreira, and by his sucessors. António Gomes also establishes another entail in quinta da Golpilheira, Leiria, which he bequeaths to his niece, Brázia Ferreira.

Will (extract) by which António de Almada establishes an entail by uniting his houses in Lisbon, the quinta do Samouco and its lands, in Alcochete (which he inherited from his brother Manuel de Almada, with the obligation of 9 masses), one half of a saltern and some houses in Alcochete. He nominates his eldest son as his successor or, if dies before his father, his brother, Rodrigo de Almada, and their succession thereafter, with the obligation of 30 masses in the convent of S. Will (extract) by which Ana Jácome establishes an entail with an orchard in the village of Povos, bequeathing it to her daughter, Catarina Jácome, and her successors, with the obligation of twenty masses in the altar of Chagas of the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which Ambrósio Fernandes establishes an entail with his houses in Lisbon, with the obligation of 50 masses each year in the church of the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. He appoints Maria Dias, Jorge Barbosa's wife, as his successor. At the time of Maria Dias's death, the entail's administration will pass to her brother, João Carvalho, and to his successors thereafter.

Will (extract) of Francisco Álvares Tinoco, in which the testator declares that the remaining assets of his "terça" were to be entailed into a chapel previously instituted by Catarina Colaço of Viana. The entail was to be held by Francisco's legitimate descendants, with preference given to first-born sons, but with the possibility of female succession in the absence of males. The administrators were obliged to use the surname of Tinoco and to ensure the perpetual celebration of 20 masses each year.

Extract of João Gomes de São João's will, by which he entailed two houses in Lisboa to the chapel founded by his late wife, Beatriz Leitão. If Luís Leitão's generation become extinct, the entail should be inherited by the institutor's nephew, António Garcês, or by the administrator of his entail.

Will (extract) by which Luísa Franca demands to be buried in the cloister of the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, in the burial place of her father, João Franco. She establishes an entail with the revenue of her houses in Lisboa, which she bequeaths to her heiress, with the obligation of 80 annual masses in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. Her heiress will have the faculty of appointing the next administrator. If she doesn't appoint anyone, the entail shall pass to the eldest child of her niece, D. Ana Barbosa. Followed by a note expaining that the heiress of the entail was Maria Pinheiro de Miranda, Luísa Franca's niece.

Will (extract) by which Filipe Fialho entails his farmstead and houses in Lisboa with an obligation of a daily mass and masses in certain holidays to be prayed in the oratory of his farmstead and in the church of the monastery of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa. He designates his brother, Cristóvão Borges as first administrator, and his descendantes afterwards. If his brother doesn't have male successors, he designates his nephew, Diogo Dias Cardoso, and his sucessors. If Filipe Fialho's widow wishes to have the usufruct of the properties entailed by Filipe Fialho, he shall entail in their place his casal in Coruche and some houses with ovens, with an obligation of a daily mass over his tomb.

Will (extract) made by Manuel Fidalgo da Costa and his wife Beatriz da Veiga Spínola, in which they have ordered the foundation of an entail with their lands in Covada, with a perpetual pious obligation of two sung masses, as long as the world lasted, with bread and wine offer over their graves in All Souls Day. They named padre Florêncio da Veiga Escórcio to administrate the entail during his lifetime, and, after his death, the administration would be handled to Helena, his natural daughter. From there on, the succession should always continue, preferably, on the eldest heir. They also asked the Cabido to surveil the fulfillment of this will.

Will (extract) made by Isabel Correia Tavares, in which she ordered the foundation of a chapel composed of a farm named Fragoso and twenty five enslaved persons, over which she imposed a perpetual pious obligation of six sung masses every year.She named Pedro Fernandes Alfange and his wife Isabel Correia as first administrators during their lifetimes, and, after their deaths, they would be succeeded by their eldest heir, male or female. If they died without children, the administration would be handled to Maria Tavares with the same condition. The institutor disposed that if any of the entailed slaves died, they should be replaced for another one, in order to always maintain twenty five serving on the chapel.

Will (extract) made by Luís Afonso in which he ordered the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of twenty masses celebrated every year, in the church of Santa Maria of Viana. He appointed Luís Touro to be the first administrator during his lifetime and, after his death, he shall be succeeded by his male son that he appointed.

Will (extract) by which Fernando Afonso, hortelão, bequeaths his properties in Lisboa to his wife, Margarida Afonso, during her lifetime. After her death, his houses and an olive grove in Chelas shall be given to his sister, Isabel Afonso, wife of Pedro Afonso, and to her descendants, with an obligation of an annual mass in the convent of S. Francisco de Xabregas, Lisboa.

Will (extract) in which Justa Vaz’s brother establishes entails for his children: Duarte, Martinho and Isabel de Castro do Rio, some of which are funded by money left by his sister. He declares that Justa Vaz appointed him as her universal heir, giving him the usufruct of her assets, during his lifetime, and ordering him to transmit them to one of his children or to divide them among them, forming entails. From the money she left, he thus bequeaths 8 000 cruzados to this daughter Isabel and 12 000 cruzados to his son Duarte de Castro do Rio, to found two entails. If their lineages are extinguished these entails shall be annexed to the entail he founded for his eldest son, Martinho de Castro do Rio, with the same conditions. He also bequeaths 40 000 cruzados to Martinho de Castro do Rio, which shall be annexed to the entail he founded for him. Martinho de Castro do Rio must also buy properties to entail to the obligation of masses established in Justa Vaz's codicil, which shall be administered by the successors of his entail.

Will (extract) by which Maria Pereira established an entail, appointing her husband Manuel Lobo de Melo to be its first administrator. He was due to order the celebration of masses and to light a candle in the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça, in Lisboa. This entail is composed of a farm called "Vale do Grou", located in the outskirts of Almada. Preceded by a dowry deed dated 1658-02-06.

Will (extract) by which Bartolomeu Vieira de Almada bequeaths his properties to his granddaughter, D. Mariana, and her heirs, with an obligation of five annual masses in the church of Póvoa de Santo Adrião. If she dies without descendants, the entail shall pass to Bartolomeu Vieira de Almada's nephew, Jacinto Luís Vieira, son of his brother, Luís Vieira de Almada, or to another of his granddaughters.

Will (extract) in which João Álvares and Catarina Freire entail the third part of their assets, consisting of properties they have on the outskirts of Sintra: a property (casal), lands in Cortegaça, houses with orange groves, and an orchad in Várzea. When one of them dies, the other will have the entail with the obligation of fulfilling a set of pious charges. After their death, the entail should be administrated by João Freire, Catarina’s brother, and then passed to his eldest son. The pious charges should be accomplished in the church of Colares, where the testators had their burial place and in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Lisboa, where Simão Freire, João Freire’s brother, had his. The testators order the inventory of the entail’s properties in a tombo, with a copy staying with the entail’s administrator and the other with the Confraria do Santíssimo Sacramento. They add that the masses in the church of Colares should be said by a son of Catarina’s uncle Manuel Brás if he becomes a clergyman.

Will (extract) in which Antónia Falcão orders a chapel to be built in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Lisboa and expresses her wish to be buried next to her late husband, Garcia Homem. She bequeaths a set of properties to her chapel, which are listed and described, and appoints her nephew Martim Cota Falcão and the priests of the convent as administrators. Martim Cota, who is the eldest son of the testators’ brother, Gaspar Cota Falcão, would have part of the listed properties, subjected to a series of detailed conditions. He was required to fulfil pious obligations for the institutor’s soul and to pay an annual sum of 10 000 réis to the convent. The priests would receive properties near Beirolas and in Salvaterra, as well as the amount paid by Martim Cota and his descendants. These assets were to be entailed and the conditions and alternatives of their transmission are specified.

Will (extract) by which D. Francisca de Meneses establishes three entails of female succession. First, she bequeaths her lands in Linda-a-Velha, Oeiras, to her sister, with an obligation of two annual masses. After her sister's death, they shall pass to her niece, D. Úrsula, with the same obligation. D. Úrsula shall build houses in those lands to be the head of the entail. Second, she bequeaths her sister two stores in Lisboa, with another obligation of two annual masses. After her sister's death, they shall pass to her niece, D. Isabel. Third, she orders 2 000 réis of masses in the monastery of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, entailed to a lease in Nossa Senhora dos Olivais, of which her brother, padre Frei Vicente, shall have the usufruct during his lifetime, and which shall pass after his death to D. Ana, their niece, with the same obligation. If one of her nieces dies without successors, the other two can inherit their entails. If none of them has descendants, the entails shall be inherited by the daughters of their brothers.
She also bequeaths to D. Úrsula a lease with an obligation of four annual masses for the soul of the daughter of her nurse, also buried in the monastery of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, who had bequeathed them to her with that condition.

João da Talha, and vineyards and olive groves located on the outskirts of that city, determining that one of them should become its first administrator after the death of the other. Will (extract) by which Frei Tomás de Brito, the institutor's brother, established the succession of his brother's entail, designating his brother Diogo de Brito and his wife Ana Coelho to be its first administrators. It should succeed their eldest son or, in his absence, the eldest daughter. If there were no heirs from Diogo de Brito's line, it should succeed other heirs of Bartolomeu de Brito, their father.

Will (extract) by which Francisco José declares he possesses the houses entailed by his deceased wife which he bequeaths his son, Bento Gonçalves, with their obligation of two weekly masses for her soul. Will (extract) by which Manuel Manso da Fonseca, desembargador, established an entail, designating his nephew Francisco Manso da Fonseca to be its first administrator and he nominated his wife to be the last will executor. All the assets that remained after the payment of his wife's dowry should be used for the celebration of masses and all his properties should be incorporated into this entail. If his nephew died childless, it should succeed other of his sister's heirs.

Will (extract) by which Mécia Fernandes bequeathed lands (casa) in Valejas, located on the outskirts of Lisboa, to Jorge Lopes, obligating him and his successors to support the celebration of 10 annual masses for her soul and the soul of her sister, Leonor Fernandes, in the churches of S. Miguel and S. Pedro of Alfama. The properties could never be sold or exchanged for others. Jorge Lopes had to appoint the entail's next administrator or, if he died before doing it, to transmit it to his eldest son.

He was also obligated to intern into a convent a girl that lived in her company, in order to became a nun. This entail is composed of houses, lands, "casais", vineyards and olive groves located in Oeiras, Lisboa and Póvoa de Santo Adrião. Followed by an undated inventory.

Will (extract) by which Miguel Frade bequeaths the third part of his assets, including a rent (foro) of wheat and quinces given by the usufructuary of mills located on Sesimbra, to his daughter, Maria Carvalho, determining that her and her descendants must celebrate 3 annual masses for his soul in the church of S. João da Praça of Lisboa, where his body shall be buried. After his daughter's death, the entail should be inherited by her eldest son. The entailed rent could never be sold or exchanged for other property.

Will (extract) by which André Fernandes bequeaths two floors of a house located on Lisboa to his son, Francisco Vaz, obligating him and his successors to support the celebration of 3 annual masses for his soul in the church of S. If Tomás de Leão dies without heirs, it will be administered by his sister, Guiomar de Caminha, and her children. If there is no legitimate or illegitimate descendance, the succession shall fall to Francisca da Costa, Gil de Leão's goddaughter, daughter of Gonçalo da Costa, or to her sister, Joana, and their successors. If the whole family line is extinguished, it will be bequeathed to the Misericórdia of Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which Julião da Costa de Oliveira established an entail, designating his eldest son Manuel da Costa to be its first administrator. He was due to order the celebration of masses wherever he wanted, using the third of the institutor. If he died without heirs, it should succeed his second son António da Costa. This entail is composed of a "casal" in Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which Marcos de Almeida established an entail, designating his sister D. Antónia de Almeida, wife of Rui Gonçalves Maracote, to be its first administrator. The institutor also left some legacies for the remission of captives to the Misericórdia of Lisboa. Will (extract) of Isabel Rija bequeathing 200.000 réis to buy a public debt instrument or a property to her son, Baltasar de Magalhães, with the pious obligation of some masses ordered by his father in the hermitage of Nossa Senhora dos Anjos. This public debt instrument will be owned by the administrator of her chapel with the pious obligation of two prayed masses for the soul of Isabel Pires, the testator's aunt, and her husband, who bequeathed her some properties with that obligation.

Will (extract) by which Margarida Afonso bequeathed the third part of her assets to their sons, Francisco Fernandes and Vasco Rodrigues, with the obligation of giving, each year, 4 cruzados to their sister, Margarida Afonso, who was a nun. She established a chapel with those assets, including her house on Rua da Rala, in Olivença, and determined that her sons and their descendants had to support the celebration of 2 annual masses for their mother's soul. After the death of their sister, the number of perpetual masses would change to 6.

Will (extract) by which Maria Lourenço Gramacho instituted an entail with a property (herdade) she owned in the outskirts of Elvas and a vineyard in Varche, appointing her niece Mécia Dias, Diogo Fernandes de Montarroio's wife, to administrate it. All the entail's administrators were obligated to support the celebration of annual masses for the institutor's soul in the convent of S. Domingos of Elvas.
The institutor established another entail with her "herdade em Cajola" and an olive grove in the outskirts of Elvas, designating her niece, D. Beatriz, to administrate it. She and her descendants had the obligation of supporting the celebration of 7 annual masses, in honour of the Holy Spirit, in the convent of S. Domingos.
