In case of extinction of the lineage, the administration would pass to the monastery of São Martinho de Tibães.

He entails several real estate to fulfill the charges and appoints Maria Botelho, his wife and executor, to administer it until Francisco, his son, turns 25. The administration was then to follow by the eldest son.

Will chart of Francisca de Morais, ordering her grave in the chapel that, with António Alves, her first husband, she had made in the church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Nelas, invoking Santiago. She entails all its real estate located in the counties of Senhorim, Folhadal and Canas, in order to fulfill the charges celebrated in that chapel. She appoints Mamede de Abranches, her husband, heir, executor and first administrator. He was to be succeeded by Marcos de Abranches, the founder's nephew, and Marta de Morais, his wife.

Will chart made by Diogo Caldeira de Tavares and his wife Maria de Sousa in which they leave the entail instituted by Jorge Caldeira de Tavares to Pedro de Sousa Caldeira. They entail several other assets, adding a perpetual pious obligation of masses celebrated in the convent of São Francisco of Portalegre. They also attach to it properties of the entail established by António Pimenta. After the death of Pedro de Sousa Caldeira, he shall be succeeded by his eldest male son.

Will chart of Gaspar de Simas, in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual pious obligation of twelve masses celebrated every year in Arronches. The institutor named Gaspar de Simas, his nephew as first administrator during his lifetime and, after his death, the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir. Isabel Álvares, wife of the founder, would have the usufruct of the entail estate until Gaspar de Simas married, and half after that marriage, during her lifetime.

Will chart made by João Martins and his wife Isabel Rodrigues, in which they ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of forty masses celebrated every year in Arronches. The institutor named Gonçalo Valente, their son, who was to be ordained a cleric, as first administrator during his lifetime. He had to nominate whoever he wanted to succeed him in the administration. If he did not become a cleric, after his death, he would be succeeded by his eldest male son. The first administrator could entail new assets to the chapel and increase the charges.

Will chart made by Maria Temudo, in which she ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual pious obligation of fifteen masses celebrated every year in Portalegre. The institutor named Vasco Pires Falcão, her husband, as first administrator during his lifetime and, after his death, he would be succeeded by Ana, their daughter, and from there on the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir.

Will chart made by Simão Palha and his wife Beatriz Freire in which they ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of masses celebrated every year in Crato.They appointed their eldest son to be the first administrator during his lifetime.

Will chart made by Filipa Cabreira Mexia in which she ordered the foundation of an entail with a perpetual pious obligation of three masses celebrated every year in the chapel of Reis, in Portalegre. She attaches the chapel established by Manuel da Fonseca, in Quinta do Reguengo, so that it would be united to this new entail. She appointed Nuno da Fonseca Coutinho to be the first administrator during his lifetime and, after his death, he shall be succeeded by Manuel da Fonseca. After his death, he shall be succeeded by his brothers, from oldest to youngest, preferring males to females.

Will chart made by Gonçalo Mendes in which he says he had previously instituted a chapel, invoking Jesus, Maria and José, now entailing his assets, after the legacies were fulfilled, to fulfill charges. He appointed Catarina Luís to be the first administrator during her lifetime and, after her death, she will be succeeded by the relative chosen to succeed her. The administrator was obliged to reside in the houses adjacent to the chapel.

Will chart by which António de Torres Manso annexes properties to the chapel founded by Maria Barata, in Oleiros, which would pass to his daughter, Maria Temudo, after his death. He annexes his half of his entail to the chapel founded by his uncle, Baltasar Manso, as he had agreed with with his deceased wife, Beatriz Barata, in their previous will. He designates his son, António de Torres Manso, as administrator of this entail. He also appoints him administrator of the chapel founded by by Afonso Álvares, in the mother church of Álvaro, which he had inherited from his wife, and annexes properties to it.

Will (extract) of Francisco Velasco de Gouveia, by which he establishes Baltasar Pereira do Lago, son of Gaspar Pereira do Lago, his nephew, as his heir. The testator entails all his real estate, including houses in Lisboa, lands (casal) in Mafra and the Fonte Boa's estate (herdade), in Ferreira do Alentejo. The entail's administrator was obligated to administer it with the chapel established by Beatriz de Gouveia, his mother, in the convent of São Domingos of Lisboa, and with the one established by Duarte de Almeida, in the same convent. Francisco added annual masses to the pious obligation his mother had already instituted. He chooses to be buried in the chapel, located in the cloister of the referred convent, where his parents lied.

Will (extract) of father Miguel da Fonseca, by which he declared that he wished to institute a chapel in the hermitage of Santa Ana, with the perpetual obligation of a daily mass. The testator left "um conto de réis" to be entailed. He appointed his niece Ângela da Fonseca, married to Gabriel de Araújo de Vasconcelos, as the first administrator, followed by her descendants, with the right to appoint one of her children as her successor. If she failed to do so, preference would be given to first-born sons. If they had no descendants, the entail would go to another of the founder's nieces, Mariana da Fonseca, or finally to his natural daughter, Marta da Fonseca. The administrators were obliged to use the family name and had to report to the Juízo dos Resíduos every three years on the correct celebration of the prescribed masses.

Will (extract) by which Mateus Gonçalves Mouzinho established an entail, designating his son Francisco Mouzinho to be its first administrator with the obligation to order the celebration of masses. If he died childless, it should succeed his brother Gaspar Mouzinho or, in his absence, the heirs of his father or mother's brothers.

Will (extract) of Diogo Carneiro and Beatriz de Castro, his wife. They instituted a chapel, entailing a third of their assets for the celebration of charges, upon finalising the payment of legacies. Francisco Carneiro de Brito, his son, is appointed first administrator. Beatriz de Castro administered a chapel instituted by Helena de Brito, her aunt, for which she also appoints Francisco Carneiro de Brito, her son, ordering him to annex it to the chapel she instituted with her husband.

Will (extract) by which Francisco de Barros de Paiva, husband of D. Maria da Guerra, establishes an entail with the third part of his properties. He bequeaths it to his eldest son, Jorge de Barros, and to his successors thereafter, under the condition that they shall keep the family name Barros, order an annual divine office for his soul in his burial place and add the third part of their thirds to the entail. If Jorge de Barros has already died at the time of his father's death, the entail shall be inherited by his younger brother, João de Barros. If João de Barros has also already died, it shall go to their cousin, Francisco de Barros. He asks that his wife and executors add to his third part his casal in Loures, his houses in Rua Nova, Lisboa, a public debt instrument of 100 000 reis or his farmstead in quinta da Fonte da Telha, whichever is better. He also orders that his son, when he becomes an adult, add his legitime to the entail, together with the third part of his third.

Will (extract) by which doutor Gabriel de Almeida demands that the sucessor of his entail, Gabriel, his nephew, orders a daily mass with responsory and an anniversary mass for his and his parent's souls in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. He appoints his sister and brother-in-law as administrators of the entail during Gabriel's minority. He also establishes that the sucessors of his entail shall pay 30 000 reis to his sister, D. Joana de Vasconcelos, nun in the monastery of Odivelas, while she lives. If the lineage of his nephews is extinguished, the entail shall also be extinguished and the properties shall be given to the Ordem Terceira and to the Hospital of da Irmandade dos Clérigos da Caridade, with the same obligation of masses, or to the church of S. Lourenço, if the convent of S. Francisco doesn't accept it.

Will (extract) by which Henrique Jacques establishes an entail with the third part of his revenue. He bequeaths it to his eldest son, and his descendants thereafter, who shall also annex to the entail their third parts and use the surname Jacques. He asks his wife to also annex her third part to the entail, in the quinta do Vale de Mourelos. He establishes a chapel of three annual masses in the convent or church where he shall be buried. If his descendants die before his wife, the entail shall go to her, until she marries again. If his wife has already died, it shall go to his nephew, also called Henrique Jacques, and to his descendants, with an obligation of 100 annual masses. If these two lineages are extinguished, the entail shall pass to the Misericórdias of Lisboa and of Lagos.

Will (extract) by which Diogo Dias Lobo establishes a chapel with the obligation of one annual mass for his soul in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. He appoints his sister, Catarina Lobo da Silva, wife of Manuel da Gama, as its first administrator, and her descendants afterwards, with the condition that she shall buy properties to entail with the remains of his assets. If his sister dies without descendants, or if the obligations are not fulfilled for a year, the entail shall be bequeathed to the confraria da Santa Doutrina of S. Roque, Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which Doutor Luís Correia establishes a chapel with a daily mass and one yearly divine office in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. He entails to it rents in the value of 1 000 cruzados, to be employed in the acquisition of interest and properties for the chapel. He appoints his niece, D. Maria Mancelos, daughter of D. Isabel de Leão, as the chapel's first administrator, under the condition that she shall entail to it the properties she will inherit from her mother and grandmother. Her successors shall also annex to the entail a third of the third part of their inheritances. If D. Maria dies without descendants, the entail shall be inherited by her sister, D. Isabel. If the family line is extinguished, the obligation will be bequeathed to the Misericórdia of Coimbra.

Will (extract) by which Joana Dinis entails a farm in Alvalade and her casal de Mira, in Benfica, Lisboa, and establishes a chapel. She bequeaths it to Francisco Lobato and his successors, with an obligation of 12 000 reis of masses in the chapterhouse of the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, where her husband, António Fernandes, patrão-mor do Reino, is buried. He shall be succeded by his most obedient child.

Will (extract) by which António da Costa establishes a daily mass for his soul in the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Pombinha of the cathedral of Lisboa. He sends Luís Álvares de Vilalobos, husband of his niece, Maria da Costa, 100 000 reis to buy foros to entail to the chapel. Maria da Costa shall have its administration, and her descendants afterwards. If her lineage is extinguished, the administration of the chapel shall be given to the Irmandade e Confraria de Nossa Senhora da Pombinha. If they don't accept it, it shall be given to the Misericórdia de Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which Diogo Rodrigues de Lisboa establishes two entails for his two grandsons, António Gomes do Alemo, son of his son Jorge Gomes do Alemo, and António de Torres, son of his daughter, Isabel Henriques, and of Diogo Lopes.
He bequeaths three quarters of his engine in Baía de Todos-os-Santos to António Gomes do Alemo, with the obligation of one daily mass in his chapel of Santo Ângelo, in the monastery of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa. If he dies before his grandfather, the entail shall pass to his father and siblings, or, if they have no descendants, to the lineage of António de Torres. He bequeaths the other quarter of his engine to António de Torres, with an obligation of five annual masses in the same chapel and the same clauses of succession as the other entail. After four years, António Gomes do Alemo shall use the revenue of his entail to buy the part of the engine belonging to António de Torres and annex it to his entail. António de Torres shall buy properties to entail in its place with the revenue from this sale. If both their lineages are extinguished, the sucession shall be by appointment.

Will (extract) by which Simão Gonçalves Preto and his wife Branca founded a chapel, appointing their son Filipe Godinho Falcão to be its first administrator. He was due to order the celebration of masses in the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça, in Lisboa. This entail is composed of a farm called "Aravia" located in the outskirts of Avis.

Will (extract) by which padre Baltasar Soares Magro entails a casal in Calhariz de Benfica, Lisboa, with an obligation of 150 masses for his soul in the convent of S. Bento de Xabregas. He designates his great-nephew, Sebastião Ferreira Magro, son of his nephew Manuel Ferreira Magro, as first administrator, and his descendants afterwards.

Will (extract) by which Luís de Barbuda de Melo bequeaths all his assets to Francisco Vieira de Castro, his brother, ordering him to sell them and to buy properties with the purpose of establishing an entail. The testator asks Francisco and his successors to celebrate annual masses in the church of S. Domingos of Lisboa and to donate, each year, 100 000 réis for the dowry of two orphan girls and the same amount to support the ransom of two portuguese captives in Africa.

Will (extract) by which Pedro Jaques de Magalhães established an entail, designating his eldest son Manuel Jaques de Magalhães to be its first administrator. He declared that he and his wife Dona Maria Vicência de Vilhena were contracted by a dowry deed to use their thirds for an entail's foundation. The administrator was due to order the celebration of masses for his and his wife's soul wherever he wanted. If the administrator died childless, it should succeed their daughter Dona Antónia de Vilhena and her heirs or, in her absence, the other daughters Dona Violante de Vilhena and or Dona Brites da Silva. All of the entail's administrators were obligated to incorporate half of their thirds into this entail, but the first administrator is obligated to incorporate the paternal and maternal "legítimas". The institutor is also the administrator of the Morgado da Bordeira, and for that reason their heirs should also succeed in this entail. This entail is composed of houses in "Poço dos Negros", located in Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which Manuel Malheiro expresses his wish to be buried next to his first wife, D. Isabel Fernandes, and to his second wife, D. Maria Malheiro de Melo, his niece, in the chapels of Santo António and Nossa Senhora da Conceição of the cathedral of Lisboa. He confirms the institution of an entail which he had established with his first wife in a previous will, entailing to it all his properties in Azambuja, Lisboa and Corroios. He appoints as his heir António Malheiro, his second son from his second marriage, since his first born son from this marriage, José Malheiro de Melo, had died during the writing of the will. His son shall marry one of his cousins, daughter of Gaspar Malheiro, Manuel Malheiro's brother. He establishes an obligation of two daily masses for his own soul and the souls of his two wives. He also explains that he received the two chapels he now possesses from the deão António or Afonso Furtado de Mendonça, who had donated them under the condition that he should build him a tomb in the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição and order a weekly mass for his soul.

Will (extract) by which D. Ana Maria establishes an entail with her third part, which must be used to buy public debt instruments. She establishes an obligations of 100 masses and one divine office in her chapel in the cathedral of Lisboa, where she wishes to be buried. She appoints her son, Francisco Malheiro, as her heir, bequeathing the usufruct of her properties to her husband, Gaspar Malheiro, until their son marries. If their lineage becomes extinct, the entail shall be administered by the Misericórdia de Lisboa or by the Ordem Terceira de S. Francisco.

Will (extract) by which Gaspar Lopes de Murga declares his intention of being buried in the chapel he was building in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, where his parents and siblings were also buried. He establishes that properties should be bought for the maintenance of the chapel, with total a revenue of 100 000 reis, and that 12 divine offices and 36 masses should be prayed annually for his, his parents, his siblings and his successors' souls. He appoints his brother, Doutor Francisco Lopes, as the entail's first administrator or, if he is already dead, his other brother, António Lopes de Murga. They shall pay 400 000 reis to another of their brothers, Rui Lopes de Murga.

Will (extract) by which Simão Nunes established a chapel in the church of Santa Maria Madalena of Lisboa, entailing to it the third part of his assets, including houses in Rua Ver-o-Peso, Lisboa. He designated his wife, Joana Nunes, to become its first administrator, determining that she and her successors must celebrate annual masses for her soul during Christmas and on the day of S. Simão. She was also obligated to give a pension of 20 000 réis each year to Teresa de Jesus, his daughter, as long as the latter lived. After the death of the first administrator, the chapel had to be inherited by Simão, the institutor's son, and passed to his descendants.

Will (extract) by which António Viegas Gentil established an entail, designating his daughter D. Maria Chichorra de Sousa to be its first administrator. She should incorporate her "legítima" and other assets into this entail, under penalty of loosing this succession. In this case, this entail should be succeeded by his nephew Francisco de Lucena. If his daughter accepted his condition, and if she died without heirs, this entail should be succeeded by D. Leonor and her heirs from the second marriage, but she just could marry after her daughter's. The institutor also established that his assets should be used to buy public debt instrument or immovable goods in order to incorporate them into the entail. The administrator was due to order the celebration of masses wherever he would be buried. This entail is composed of houses located in Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which Antónia de Almada established an entail, with the obligation to order the celebration of two masses in the Convent of São Romão de Alverca for her mother's soul. She also established the celebration of two more masses in the Monastery of Amparo, where she would be buried. The administrator was also obligated to give some wine and oil to the friars of this last Monastery. The successors were obligated to incorporate into this entail 100 000 réis. This entail is composed of a farm of Alfarrrobeira and houses in Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which João Alves da Fonseca, mestre de campo, established an entail, designating his nephew Jorge de Sousa da Costa to be its first administrator. He left to João, son of João Alves Coutinho and his wife Dona Catarina de Vilhena, his farm called "Soutos" and other rents on the outskirts of Santarém, with the condition to return to Jorge de Sousa da Costa's successors after his death. The administrator was due to order the celebration of masses in a privileged altar wherever he wanted and to give some legacies to the nuns of the family. If Jorge de Sousa da Costa died without heirs, it should succeed the heirs of his brother João da Costa.

Will (extract) by which Simão Gonçalves Preto and his wife Branca founded a chapel, appointing their son Agostinho Preto Falcão to be its first administrator. He was due to order the celebration of masses in the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça, in Lisboa. This entail is composed of a farm called "Machuqueira" located in Évora.

Will (extract) by which Manuel de Sande and his wife, Beatriz de Vasconcelos, appoint their granddaughter, D. Beatriz, daughter of their daughter D. Maria, as their universal heir. They bequeath her their third parts, consisting of houses in Santos-o-Velho, Lisboa, with an obligation of 75 annual masses and three nocturnes in the church of the convent of S. Francisco de Xabregas, over their tombs. If D. Beatriz dies without successors, the entail shall pass to the Misericórdia de Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which Maria Antónia designates Agostinho Esteves, picheleiro, as her universal heir and executor. She bequeaths him her properties with an obligation of 6 annual masses for her soul and the soul of her son, Gaspar Gomes, in the convent of Nossa Senhora de Jesus of Lisboa, where her husband is buried. Her husband had also ordered 6 masses for his soul. After Agostinho's death, the entail shall pass to his wife and to their successors, with a preference for the daughters.

Will (extract) by which Pedro Correia designates his niece, Maria de Serpa, daughter of his sister Antónia Ribeiro, as his universal heir, bequeathing her all of his properties as an entail, with the obligation of two daily masses in the chapel of the congregation of Jesus, Maria, José in the church of S. Roque of Lisboa, where he wishes to be buried. After Maria de Serpa's death, the entail shall pass to his other niece, Maria Egipcíaca Correia. If she dies without heirs, the entail will pass to the lineage of their deceased brother, Fernando Lopes de Serpa, but only if his heirs, who live in India, return to Portugal. He also designates the chaplains who will pray the masses in his chapel: Simão de Novais Teixeira and João de Oliveira, and their immediate successors.

Will (extract) by Estêvão de Brito Freire in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail composed of several assets in Lisboa, Beja and Salvador da Baía, with an obligation of a daily mass celebrated on his Chapel of S. Estêvão, located in the church of the convent of Nossa Senhora de Jesus, in Lisboa, where his body should be buried. He named his son Gaspar de Brito Freire as first administrator of the entail and chapel, and after his death the succession should always continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir. The administrator should keep a lamp permanently lit on the chapel, use the surname "Brito Freire" and the family coat of arms or lose the administration. Clerics and anyone who married a person of jewish or moorish ascendency should immediately lose the administrators, as well as anyone who committed lese-majeste crimes.

Will (extract) by which Luís de Almeida de Vasconcelos orders, among other dispositions, the foundation of a chapel in the Igreja da Misericórdia de Lisboa, dedicated to Espírito Santo, entailing to it a sugar-mill, named Laranjeiras, and two farmsteads, named Barra Funda and Boa Vista, in the island of São Tomé, and the donatary captaincy and Alcaidaria-Mor of the island of Ano Bom, with cotton farms and more than 250 african slaves. He appoints his cousin D. Maria de Almeida to be the first administrator, but only if his wife D. Simoa, had no children of his own. He orders that 20 000 cruzados should be given to the Misericórdia de Lisboa in order to pay for the ransom of portuguese captives in Africa.

Will (extract) by which Carlos Nunes, o Velho, designates his son, Luís Gomes Nunes, as his heir. He bequeaths him the remaining part of his properties in Elvas and a public debt instrument in the Almoxarifado of that city, with an obligation of a daily mass for his soul, the soul of his deceased wife, Violante Álvares, the souls of his parents and the souls of his deceased sons, Gonçalo Rodrigues Nunes and António Gomes Nunes. He orders that these masses shall be prayed in the cathedral of Elvas, where he wishes to be buried.

Will (extract) by which capitão Diogo da Veiga requests to be buried in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, wearing the habit of the Franciscans. He establishes a chapel in the same convent, entailing to it the third part of his inheritance, set on a public debt instrument in the Casa das Imposições de Vinho, with the obligation of one weekly mass. He appoints his daughter, D. Bárbara, as the entail's first administrator, and her successors after her death. The remains of his assets shall be used to buy properties for the chapel.

Will (extract) by which Luís Pereira de Barros established an entail, designating his daughter D. Francisca Pereira de Teles to be its first administrator. It should succeed in this entail her legitimate heirs and, if she died childless, it should succeed the eldest son of his cousin João Coelho Henriques. The successors of this entail were obligated to incorporate their thirds into this entail. The administrator was due to order the celebration of masses with the rents of his third and other belongings such as gold, silver ou white clothes. The institutor also ordered that his natural daughter, a nun in the Convent of Castanheira, should receive 20 000 réis each year.

Will (extract) by which Beatriz de Mesquita founded an entail with all her assets, including lands (casal) in Vila Nova, determining that its revenues had to support the celebration of a weekly mass and other masses every Christmas in the church of S. Francisco. The institutor appointed her brother, Gonçalo Pinto de Mesquita, as her universal heir, executor and successor in the entail's administration.

Will (extract) of Domingos Martins and Catarina Vaz ordering, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual mass obligation of a weekly mass, naming her daughter Ana Vaz and the descendants appointed by her on her will. If she died without heirs, the administration should be transmitted to her brothers Francisco or André, and if none of them left descendants, the administration should be given to the Santa Casa de Misericórdia of Angra. They ordered that all the administrators should entail the third part of their own reserved portions to the entail. Any administrator who committed crimes of lese-majeste would loose the administration.

Will (extract) of Gaspar de Sampaio Pereira. The testator institutes an entail by his inheritance, partly constituted by debt instruments. He appointed his nephew João Leite Pereira as administrator, to be succeeded by his first-born son, excluding illegitimate children and forcing the administrators to use the Leite Pereira family name. The children of Francisca de Castro were excluded from the succession. A charge of perpetual masses to be celebrated in the chapel of Nossa Senhora do Desterro was attached to the entail.

Will (extract) by which António de Almada establishes an entail by uniting his houses in Lisbon, the quinta do Samouco and its lands, in Alcochete (which he inherited from his brother Manuel de Almada, with the obligation of 9 masses), one half of a saltern and some houses in Alcochete. He nominates his eldest son as his successor or, if dies before his father, his brother, Rodrigo de Almada, and their succession thereafter, with the obligation of 30 masses in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. He also establishes that, if his succession is extinguished, the properties shall go to the Misericórdia de Lisboa, to be used for pious obligations.

He was required to fulfil pious obligations for the institutor’s soul and to pay an annual sum of 10 000 réis to the convent. The priests would receive properties near Beirolas and in Salvaterra, as well as the amount paid by Martim Cota and his descendants. These assets were to be entailed and the conditions and alternatives of their transmission are specified.

Will (extract) by which Gaspar de Magalhães and Maria da Silva, his wife, establish an entail with houses in Lisboa, a farmstead in Cumeeira, S. João da Talha, and vineyards and olive groves located on the outskirts of that city, determining that one of them should become its first administrator after the death of the other. Subsequently, the entail must be transmitted to D. Catarina Tavares, their niece, who would pass it to her eldest son. If she dies childless, it should be inherited by her sister, D. Maria da Silva. Its future administrators are obligated to support the celebration of 4 annual masses in the chapels of Santo Cristo and Nossa Senhora da Piedade of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, where the testators' bodies should be buried.

Will (extract) by which Gil de Leão expresses his wish to be buried in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, next to his wife, Ana da Costa. He establishes a chapel of three annual masses where his executor wishes, and a divine office in the convent of S. Francisco, entailed to his houses in rua da Betesga and Alfama, Lisboa, and foros of houses in adro da Conceição. He appoints his son, Tomás de Leão, as administrator of the entail, and his descendants afterwards, who shall add part of their thirds to it. If Tomás de Leão dies without heirs, it will be administered by his sister, Guiomar de Caminha, and her children. If there is no legitimate or illegitimate descendance, the succession shall fall to Francisca da Costa, Gil de Leão's goddaughter, daughter of Gonçalo da Costa, or to her sister, Joana, and their successors. If the whole family line is extinguished, it will be bequeathed to the Misericórdia of Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which Marcos de Almeida established an entail, designating his sister D. Antónia de Almeida, wife of Rui Gonçalves Maracote, to be its first administrator. The institutor ordered the purchase of a chapel, the payment of 30 000 réis to a chaplain and the celebration of masses for his soul in the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Anunciada. The institutor also left some legacies for the remission of captives to the Misericórdia of Lisboa. This entail should be succeed by the eldest son or, in his absence, by the closest kin and its properties are composed of houses in Lisboa, and a "cardal" and a farm located in Azambujal.

Will (extract) of Joaquim de Sá instituting an entail with pious obligations in the church of Salvador de Vilarinho das Cambas, and appointing his niece Maria de Sá, married with Bento de Oliveira, as administrator, granting her the power to choose the next administrator within her kindred.

Will (extract) by which Pedro da Silva, bispo do Brasil, established a chapel, designating his niece D. Micaela da Silva, daughter of his eldest brothers, to be its first administrator. The institutor wanted that all his movable goods and his houses in Bahia would be sold in order to buy others for this chapel. The administrator was due to order the celebration of masses, that should be said by a chaplain. After the administrator’s death, it should succeed her son Silvério and, in his absence, another daughter of Micaela. If there were no heirs of the family, it should succeed the eldest servant, or the eldest maid of his house.

Will (extract) by which Catarina Travassos, widow of António Pinto, annexes the third part of her assets to the entail established by her husband, according to his will, and appoints her daughter, Isabel Travassos da Veiga, as the entail's first administrator.

Will (extract) by which Leonor Leitão entails her properties with the obligation of three masses in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, ordering the making of a tombo for them to always be in her direct family line. She appoints Guiomar Rebelo, her niece, as her successor, and her heirs afterwards. If Guiomar dies without descendants, her husband, Baltasar Ribeiro, can have the usufruct of her properties, but after his death they shall be inherited by her other niece, Isabel Leitão, wife of João Rebelo, or by her children.

Will (extract) António Ribeiro de Abreu founding and entail, in Seia, and chapel, in the main church of Seia, and appointing João Cabral de Abreu, his son, as first administrator. João Cabral de Abreu and Antónia Coelho de Sousa, his wife, consent in the entail's foundation, since it includes the first one's reserved portion.

Will (extract) by which Simão Gonçalves Preto and his wife Branca established an entail, appointing their eldest son Francisco Gonçalves Preto to be its first administrator. He was due to order the celebration of masses in the church where they will be buried. This entail is composed of a farm called "Auroa" and houses located in Évora.

Will (extract) by which Manuel da Serra established an entail, using his third part of the assets. He designated his son Francisco Xavier da Serra to be its first administrator, with the obligation to order the celebration of masses for his, his wife and his parents' soul. The administrator was free to subrogate the properties to others with higher rents.

Will (extract) by which Diogo Rodrigues de Lisboa establishes two entails for his two grandsons, António Gomes do Alemo, son of his son Jorge Gomes do Alemo, and António de Torres, son of his daughter, Isabel Henriques, and of Diogo Lopes.
He bequeaths three quarters of his engine in Baía de Todos-os-Santos to António Gomes do Alemo, with the obligation of one daily mass in his chapel of Santo Ângelo, in the monastery of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa. If he dies before his grandfather, the entail shall pass to his father and siblings, or, if they have no descendants, to the lineage of António de Torres. He bequeaths the other quarter of his engine to António de Torres, with an obligation of five annual masses in the same chapel and the same clauses of succession as the other entail. After four years, António Gomes do Alemo shall use the revenue of his entail to buy the part of the engine belonging to António de Torres and annex it to his entail. António de Torres shall buy properties to entail in its place with the revenue from this sale. If both their lineages are extinguished, the sucession shall be by appointment.
