He explains that he had conflicts over the possession of these properties, but had entailed them, in the end. He appoints his compadre, Pedro Dias, síndico, with the same obligation.

Will (extract) by which Luís Carneiro da Silva established an entail, giving to his niece Josefa, daughter of his sister Teresa de Jesus and her husband Manuel Lopes, 3 000 cruzados and other movable goods with the obligation to celebrate three masses for his soul. She left him 100 000 réis in order to buy a public debt instrument of 5 000 réis for the celebration of masses in the Church of São Tomé, were the institutor was buried. Because he was not able to buy it, he wanted his last will executor to buy the public debt instrument to fulfill this pious obligation.

Will (extract) by which Eva Fernandes establishes a chapel of seven annual masses for her soul in the church of Santo Estêvão de Alfama, where she wishes to be buried, to which she entails her houses in Alfama, Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which Violante Afonso, Diogo Folgado's widow, leaves 2 houses in Outeiro and Lapa to her niece, Isabel Delgado, determining that her and her descendants must celebrate a sung mass for her soul in the church of S. Miguel of Alfama. She bequeaths houses in Rua Direita de S. Miguel to Filipa Folgado, her criada, obligating her and her successors to support the celebration of a weekly mass for her soul in that church. The testator also transmits the entail established by her late husband to his nephew, Francisco Garcês, leaving him 50 cruzados which must be spent improving the state of the entailed farmstead in Talaminho, Amora.

Will (extract) by which Margarida Vicente bequeaths her sister, Isabel Vicente, her houses in Alfama, with an obligation of two annual masses in the church of Santo Estêvão of that parish, where she wishes to be buried. After her sister's death the entail shall pass to her granddaughter, Beatriz or to her brother, with the same obligation, or to Margarida's granddaughters, daughters of her daughter Isabel Lourenço.

Will (extract) by which the priest Cosme Correia Henriques established an entail, designating his brother Francisco Vaz Cardoso to be its first administrator. Will (extract) by which doutor Gaspar Serrão orders two anniversaries in the church of Santo Estêvão de Alfama of Lisboa, for which his executors must buy revenue or properties to entail. He also bequeaths to the confraria do Santo Sacramento two silver candlesticks to use during these masses.

Will (extract) by which Belchior Alves da Costa lists the properties he wishes to entail to a chapel he is founding for his step-morther and siblings, namely, houses in Alfama which had an obligation of 100 masses for the soul of doutor João Saraiva in the church of Santo Estêvão de Alfama, where he is buried.

Will (extract) by which Maria Dias establishes two entails with her houses in the parish of S. Vicente de Fora, Lisboa. She bequeaths part of them to Maria de Faria with an obligation of three annual masses in the church of Santo Estêvão de Alfama, where Rui Pires and his daughters are buried. She bequeaths the other part to Pedro Gonçalves with an obligation of five annual masses for her soul and the soul of her husband. Both houses shall always be entailed to these obligations.

Will (extract) by which Mónica Rodrigues bequeaths her houses to her grandmother, with an obligation of paying one cruzado every year for three masses in the church of Santo Estêvão de Alfama, Lisboa.

Will (extract) by which António Mendes bequeaths his houses in Lisboa to his daughter, Antónia Mendes, and her descendants, with an obligation of four annual masses in the altar of Nossa Senhora da Conceição of the church of Santo Estêvão de Alfama. If his successors don't fulfil the obligations, the Irmandade de Nossa Senhora da Conceição can take the chapel from them.

Will (extract) by which João Leitão determined that the revenues of his properties in Carvoeira and Caixaria would support the perpetual celebration of masses on the eve of the day of S.
