Will chart of João de Brito de Almeida and his wife, D. Mariana Coutinho. They establish an entail with the third parts of their assets with an obligation of masses to be celebrated in the convent of São Francisco of Xabregas, where they wanted to be buried. They appoint their eldest son to succeed them.

Will chart by which the priest António Mahia de Lima ordered the construction of a chapel, dedicated to Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, located in the farm of Azenha, in the parish of Santa Maria de Rebordões, where he lived. He incorporated all his immovable goods in order to fulfill the pious charges. His sister Luísa de Lima also left some pious charges to be celebrated in that chapel. He designated his son António Mahia to be its first administrator.

He appoints Genebra de Andrade, his sister, as first administrator, and António de Castro, his nephew, as the second administrator, after the death of the former. This entail is composed of houses in Lisboa.

Will chart by which Cristóvão Bocolli, cidadão cremonês, established an entail with a farmstead in Lisboa ("quinta da Palma"), houses on that city and 18 african civets ("gatos de algália"), which were kept in a wooden house in the farm and generated an annual profit of 100 000 réis. He designated his illegitimate son, João Bocle/ João Boche, husband of Maria Luís, to administrate it, obligating him to support the celebration of a daily perpetual mass in the church of Nossa Senhora do Loreto. The institutor ordered the making of 4 tombos containing copies of the entail's institution and other deeds, 3 of which would be delivered to the Hospital de Todos-os-Santos, the referred church and the Juízo dos Resíduos. The testator declared that he had made a will with his late wife, Graça Teixeira, in which they had demanded the celebration of a perpetual daily mass for their souls in Nossa Senhora do Loreto, where he had erected a chapel. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1560-10-28 and an opening deed issued on 1561-03-13.

Will chart in which Guiomar Soares expresses her wish of being buried in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Lisboa. The testator orders the sale of her assets to purchase houses located in Lisboa, which had to be entailed to the pious charges she establishes. She appoints Gaspar Afonso, her husband, first administrator. He should be succeeded in the chapel’s administration by Helena Soares, who had been raised in the institutor's house. If Helena Soares died, Jerónimo de Barros, Guiomar's cousin, should succeed.
Guiomar Soares also leaves part of her houses in Calçada Íngreme to her servants, the sisters Antónia Ferreira and Brígida Ferreira, with the obligation of fulfilling a perpetual mass for her soul at the same convent.

Will chart of Violante Mendes founding two chapels, one for her brother, Fernando Caldeira, and his descendants with the obligation to celebrate 25 masses in the chapel of the monastery of S. Will of Simão Vaz de Camões, ordering his grave in his chapel of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, located in the new church of the monastery of São Domingos de Coimbra, still under construction. He entails assets to fulfill the charges, entailed only after the death of Francisca Rebelo, his second wife and universal heiress, who was supposed to administer it. It was up to the woman to choose the next administrator, and then followed by the eldest son.
This is followed an approval deed (dated 1574-07-13) and an opening deed of a will (dated 1581-03-30).

Will chart of D. Joana de Castelo Branco, ordering her grave in the chapel of D. Beatriz Pereira, her sister, at the College of Nossa Senhora da Graça of Coimbra. She established a chapel there, entailing assets to fulfill the charges, celebrated in her sister's chapel, and appoints Aires Gomes de Sá, her nephew, heir and executor, administrator of the chapel. After his death, the administration would be for his eldest son.

Will chart of D. Filipa Pereira. She orders her grave in the chapel instituted by Beatriz Pereira, her sister, located in the church of the College of Nossa Senhora da Graça of Coimbra. She instituted a chapel, in that chapel, and entails assets to fulfill the charges. She appoints Aires de Sá de Melo, her nephew and executor, to administer it. After his death, his eldest son should succeed him.
This is followed an approval deed (dated 1614-07-17) and an opening deed of a will (dated 1616-02-06), as well as a codicil (dated 1616-01-29).

Will chart made by padre Bartolomeu Dias Vieira in which he ordered the foundation of an entail, with a perpetual mass obligation of seven masses celebrated every year in the church of São Sebastião of Vila da Praia, Terceira island, where his body should be buried. He named his brother Gaspar Gonçalves Vieira to administrate the entail and, preferably, the eldest male successor after him. If died without descendants, the entail's administration should be transmitted, in this order, to João de Barcelos, Bartolomeu Gato, Francisco Vieira and Maria, daughter of Manuel Viera, and, finally, the Confraria do Santíssimo Sacramento.

Catarina do Amaral Cabral, his wife, ordering their grave in the mother church of Santa Maria de Chãs, until they could have been transferred to the chapel they were going to establish. They institute a chapel, invoking São Bernardo, entailing the assets of their thirds parts, to fulfill the charges. They appoint Manuel do Amaral Cabral, their son, as heir and administrator. The institution is made with the consent of Domingos do Amaral Cabral, son of the institutors, who also entails his heritage.

Will chart made by Pedro Eanes, Escudeiro, and his wife Isabel Gomes, in which they ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of two entails with a perpetual mass obligation of one mass celebrated every year, entailing some properties in Ponte de Lima and endowing two of their nieces, daughters of Margarida Afonso and Catarina Afonso. After the death of each of them, the succession should continue, preferably, on their eldest male heirs. They also left a land to the Misericórdia of Ponta Delgada with the perpetual obligation of a weekly mass.

Will chart made by João Gonçalves and his wife Branca Gomes in which they ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail in Ponta da Garça, Vila Franca do Campo, with a perpetual mass obligation of a weekly mass. They named the priest Jerónimo Perdigão as first administrator of the entail, and their son João Gonçalves after him. After the death of João the succession should always continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir. If he had no heirs, the administration should be given to Madalena Álvares, daughter of João Gonçalves or the closest living relative. They excluded their son-in-law Belchior Gonçalves of the administration.

Will chart of Jorge de Sousa de Alvim, ordering his grave in the hermitage of Santo António, which he had built at his Quinta de Pedrógão, on the outskirts of Torres Novas. He establishes an entail and chapel, entailing all his assets, located in the Quinta de Pedrógão and on the outskirts of Torres Novas and Porto de Mós. He appoints Manuel de Sousa de Alvim, his son, executor and first administrator, to be succeded by his eldest male son. In case of extinction of the lineage, the administration would pass to the monastery of São Martinho de Tibães.
He establishes another entail and chapel, entailing a farm, located in Seiça, on the outskirts of Ourém. He appoints Simão de Sousa de Alvim, his son, first administrator. The charges were to be celebrated in the church of Seiça. The same clauses had to be fulfilled for the institution of the entail of the Quinta de Pedrógão.
He establishes another entail and chapel, entailing grain income, in the amount of 100.000 réis, coming from Alfeizerão. He appoints Pedro de Melo de Sousa, his son, first administrator. The charges were to be celebrated in the church of Alfeizerão. The same clauses had to be fulfilled for the institution of the entail of the Quinta de Pedrógão.
He establishes another chapel, entailing a farm, located in Vila Verde, in the municipality of Vila Chã, on the outskirts of Braga. He appoints Henrique de Sousa de Alvim, his son, first administrator. The charges were to be celebrated in the church of São Paio of Vila Verde. Branca would be succeeded by a grandson of father of Miguel Tavares and from there on the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir, legitimate and had the family name Caldeira Tavares.

Will chart made by Catarina Marques, in which she ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of masses celebrated every year, to be administrated during their lifetime by her nieces Isabel Fernandes and Margarida, daughters of Manuel Fernandes. Isabel Fernandes was supposed to live in the houses all her lifetime, paying Margarida 2.000 réis every year. After their death, the chapel should be administrated by the eldest son of the last administrator to die and, from there on, the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir.
Catarina Marques also ordered two other chapels, by entailing a land (souto), in the location of Juntas, on the outskirts of Marvão, with a perpetual pious obligation of masses celebrated every year, to be administrated during their lifetime by her nephews Pedro and Maria, children of Manuel Fernandes. The assets would be divided into equal parts, being administered separately. After their death, the chapel should be administrated by the eldest son of the last administrator to die and, from there on, the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir.

The institutor named Isabel Semedo, his niece, as first administrator until the marriage of Manuel Rombo Caldeira, her son. From there on the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir.

The institutor named Isabel Tavares, his wife, as first administrator during her lifetime and, after her death, she would be succeeded by Belchior Velez de Castelo Branco. After his death, he would be succeeded by Baltasar, his son, and from there on the succession should continue, preferably, on the male heir.
The founder was administrator of the chapel of Lopo Curvo, in the mother church of Arronches, so he annexes assets to that chapel, in order to fulfill the clauses of the institution.

Will chart by which Margarida Dias, António Carvalho's widow, bequeaths part of her patrimony, including lands, houses and a public debt instrument of 30 000 réis in Alfândega de Lisboa, to André Dias Carvalho, her stepson, with the obligation of celebrating annual masses in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. She also asks him to ensure that the pious obligations instituted by her late sister, Beatriz Dias, in the church of Santa Justa of that city, are duly fulfilled each year.
The testator establishes another entail with houses in Lisboa and a public debt instrument of 9 500 réis in Casa da Índia, bequeathing it to her stepdaughter, Maria Dias, who was asked to support the celebration of annual masses in the church of Santa Justa. Margarida declares that her remains should be buried in the main chapel of that church, where her husband's body lies.
Followed by an approval deed, issued on 1577-06-07.

Will chart by which Maria de Almada, daughter of Pedro Gomes de Almada and Joana Vaz da Mota, bequeaths various houses in Lisboa and two farmsteads (quintas) in Arrentela to her sister, Catarina da Mota. After Catarina's death, those properties would be divided and must become part of two different entails. One of them, composed of houses in Lisboa, must be administrated by Leonor Godinho, Maria's niece. The other one, composed of houses in that city and the two farmsteads in Arrentela, should be administrated by Maria's nephew, António da Mota. Leonor, António and their successors were obligated to celebrate annual masses in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa.
The testator declares that her body should be interred inside the grave of her parents and grandparents, located in that church. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1547-11-18.

They designated Francisco Freire, their youngest son, to administrate it, declaring that the entail should always be inherited by the youngest son of the future administrators. If Francisco died without leaving descendants, the entail would be passed to António Brandão, his brother. The testators determined that their bodies had to be buried in the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Boa Nova of the church of Santa Marinha. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1623-12-31 and an opening deed issued on 1625-03-04.

Will chart by which Bartolomeu Perestrelo, João Lopes Perestrelo's son, established an entail with all his assets, including properties in Ermegeira, Monte Redondo and Lobagueira, in the outskirts of Torres Vedras. He designated his brother, António Perestrelo, to administrate it, ordering him and his successors to support the celebration of a perpetual daily mass for his soul in the chapel of Trindade of the church of S. Pedro de Torres Vedras, where his parents lied. The entail had to be transmitted to his eldest son, who would have to use the family name. He also appointed his brother to become the tutor of his son, Rodrigo, who he had brought from Sofala. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1514-03-15.

Will chart by which D. Maria de Vilhena, Simão da Silveira's widow, established a chapel of 3 daily perpetual masses, which would be celebrated in the main chapel of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Évora. She appointed Jerónimo de Carvalho, her uncle, and Sancho de Faria, her nephew, to administrate it, leaving a public debt instrument of 100 000 réis and a rent (foro) of wheat taken from properties in Moura, Beja and Évora to support the pious obligations. The administrators had to erect a chapel in that convent, where a family mausoleum would be built. All the properties she left to her uncle and a public debt instrument of 14 000 given to Madalena Mendes, her ama, would end up being passed to Sancho de Faria and entailed to the chapel. The latter would leave all the entailed assets to his eldest son.
She left a public debt instrument of 100 000 réis to the Misericórdia of Évora, obligating its brothers to provide for poor men and to give dowries to orphan girls every year.
The institutor established another entail with the properties that she inherited after her parents' death, which her brother, Pedro de Tovar, held from her. She appointed her nephew, Sancho de Tovar, to administrate it and declared that it should be transmitted to his descendants. The testator determined that her body had to be buried in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, inside the grave of her late husband. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1562-10-23 and an undated and unapproved codicil.

Will chart by which Francisco Ferreira da Silveira, fidalgo da Casa do Rei and cavaleiro professo da Ordem de Cristo, and D. Maria Velez, his wife, express their wish to be buried in the convent of Anunciada of Tomar. They establish an entail and chapel with their casais, farmlands and other properties in Tomar and its surrounding area, headed by their houses in Tomar. They also annex to it their silver serving set. They designate their eldest son, Manuel Ferreira da Silveira, as first administrator and his descendants afterwards. They will have the obligation of ordering twelve annual masses for their souls.

Will chart by which Bento Gonçalves de Sequeira, Cavaleiro da Casa do Rei, bequeathed the third part of his assets, including his farmstead (quinta) of Fonte Coberta, to his son, Belchior de Burgos, contador, obligating him and his descendants to give, each year, 4 500 réis to the church of Nossa Senhora dos Mártires of Lisboa to support the celebration of annual masses for his soul. After his death, the entail would be inherited by his eldest son. He also left him his post of Escrivão das Fianças. The testator declared that his body had to be buried alongside the remains of his wife, Helena de Burgos, and of his brother-in-law, Pedro de Burgos, in that church. If Diogo died childless, the entail was bequeathed to Fernando de Braga, who then had the responsibility of appointing the next administrator. He chose to be buried in the aforementioned chapel, in the grave where lied his brother, João Gonçalves de Prado. He bequeathed his available portion to his son, Paulo Pacheco, with the pious obligation of a perpetual chapel, half of it for his soul and the other half for his wife's, Maria da Rocha, soul. He also bequeathed to his daughter, Isabel de São João, professa in the monastery of Santo André of Vila Franca do Campo, 13 alqueires and a half of land, that was bequeathed to him by his aunt, Isabel Correia, with the pious obligation of half of a chapel. All administrators should use the surname "Pamplona" or otherwise lose the administration and they were forbiden to marry with descendants of moors and jews. The succession should be done in the same way as his father determines when he entailed a third part of his assets, except for the obligation to reside in Sernancelhe. He entailed half of the land of Ressaio to the entail instituted by his father. He also administered an entail instituted by Cristóvão da Fonseca Ribeiro, his uncle, ordering that the administrator foreseen in the institution be followed. The charges were to be celebrated in the chapel of Nossa Senhora das Neves, in Távora.

The institutor named Pedro and Maria, children of Manuel Fernandes, her nephews, as first administrators during them lifetime. The land would be divided into equal parts, being administered separately. After each one's death, they would be succeeded by his eldest son and from there on the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir.
Catarina Marques ordered also another other chapel. Named Isabel Fernandes and Margarida, daughters of Manuel Fernandes, her nieces, as first administrators during them lifetime. Isabel Fernandes was supposed to live in the houses entailed all her lifetime, paying Margarida 2.000 réis every year. After the death of the last of them, she would be succeeded by her eldest son and from there on the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir.

He had to nominate whoever he wanted to succeed him in the administration. If he did not become a cleric, after his death, he would be succeeded by his eldest male son. The first administrator could entail new assets to the chapel and increase the charges.
