Codicil by which D. Violante Godinho donates textiles and ornaments to her chapel in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa. She revokes the donation of houses she had made to padre frei Martinho Moniz, which, after his death, would be given to her nephew, Baltasar Godinho, and orders instead their annexation to her chapel, after frei Martinho's death.

He determines that his wife, Maria de Sins, will appoint, at the time of her death, her successor among their single daughters. If she will not appoint anyone, the available portion will be bequeathed to the eldest single daughter. He also changes the clause regarding the succession of his aunt's, Isabel Castanha, available portion, deciding that his wife can appoint whoever she wants to succeed her.

Codicil made by Gil Vaz appointing Pedro Miranda to replace the late executor. He appoints Domingos Dinis and António Rodrigues to replace Pedro Miranda if he dies. They will appoint a successor with morals; and the chapel will be built in the church of Espírito Santo. The chapel's income shall be divided in equal parts between the captives, in masses and for Pedro de Miranda.

Luzia de Vasconcelos rectifying her will and naming her unborn son Manuel as heir to the entail, if he survived the pregnancy and lived after, with the sole obligation that he and his descendants should always have the obligation of celebrating five masses in every year as long as the world lasted. After his death, the entail should be inherited by his elder daughter, that should always be succeeded, preferably, by the eldest female heir, or male in lack of females. If he died, the administration should be given to her brother João Pacheco de Vasconcelos with the same conditions.

Beatriz de Ataíde's husband, member of the Conselho do Rei, establishes an entail with public debt instruments and a farmstead (quinta) in Ribatejo, appointing João de Brito, his nephew, to be its first administrator. The latter and his descendants are obligated to support the celebration of annual masses for the soul of the institutor in the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Assunção of the church of the monastery of Madre de Deus of Lisboa and to maintain alight a lamp inside it. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1560-03-25 and an opening deed issued on 1561-08-09.

The second entail would be composed of some lands in the outskirts of Alpalhão, over which the institutor imposed a perpetual obligation of three masses celebrated every year, and to administrate it she named her niece Maria Inchada during her lifetime, and, after her death, she would choose an eldest son or daughter to succeed her with the same conditions. The third entail would be composed of lands in the outskirts of Crato, Alfragil, Nisa and Figueiró, over which the institutor imposed a perpetual obligation of five masses celebrated every year, and to administrate it she named her nephew Pedro Inchado with the condition that he and all his successors would appoint a son or daughter to succeed on the administration. The first entail would have a perpetual pious obligation of four masses celebrated every year and would be administrated by her nephew capitão João de Matos, during his lifetime, and, after his death, he would appoint one of his children to succeed him, or, if he had none, the administration would be handled to the closest relative of the institutor's lineage. This entail is composed of half of a vineyard in Vale de Fernão Calvo, Castelo Branco. The second entail would have a perpetual pious obligation of four masses celebrated every year and would be administrated by her niece Beatriz Gomes, during her lifetime, and, after her death, she would appoint one of her children to succeed her, or, if she had none, the administration would be handled to the closest relative of the institutor's lineage. This entail is composed of another half of the vineyard in Vale de Fernão Calvo, Castelo Branco. The third entail would have a perpetual pious obligation of four masses celebrated every year and would be administrated by Isabel Dias, sister of the institutor, during her lifetime, and, after her death, she would be succeeded by her son padre Manuel D'Alva, who would administrate it during his lifetime, and, before his death, he would appoint one of his siblings to succeed him with the same conditions above, appointing one chield on the succession. This entail is composed of a"fazenda" in Portalegre, and houses and lands in Castelo de Vide and on its outskirts.

Nuncupative codicil made in Castelo de Vide by Violante Gonçalves, in which she ordered the foundation of an entail with a perpetual obligation of three masses celebrated every year. The institutor named her son Francisco Fernandes and his sister Joana Veles as first administrators during their lifetimes and, after their deaths, they would be succeeded by Isabel Veles, granddaughter of the institutor, and from there on the succession should continue on her descendants. No illegitimate heir could ever administrate the entail and anyone who married with another person of the so-called "infected races" would be deprived from the administration.

He institutes another chapel with an obligation of masses in his chapel of Santa Catarina. He appoints Maria, his daughter, as the first administrator during her lifetime and, after her death, she would be succeeded by her sons.

Codicil by which Maria Viegas, widow of Álvaro da Costa, entails the houses she bought with the money of her daughter, Maria do Nascimento, for her usufruct, according to her will. After Maria do Nascimento's death, the houses and the obligation shall pass to her sister, Vicência de Matos, wife of Domingos Viera, and not to Domingos Vieira, as Maria Viegas had previously established in her will. After Vicência's death, the entail shall pass to her eldest son, Manuel Vieira, who can, afterwards, appoint a successor among his children.

Codicil by which Maria Viegas, widow of Álvaro da Costa, establishes that the obligation of five masses she entailed to the houses mentioned in her previous will and codicil shall be prayed in the convent of S. Institui um outro vínculo, imposto numa propriedade nos Piornais, administrado por sua sobrinha Isabel Pais.
O testamento e os dois codicilos aprovados em 1600-04-06 e 1600-02-26, respetivamente, referem: que a instituidora é irmã de Pedro Chamorra da Cunha; que deixa a Inês Pais um quintal de canas junto da roda do engenho de D. Maria Ferreira com pensão de duas missas; identifica outras propriedades; menciona jóias, entre as quais uma imagem de Nossa Senhora que deixa à confraria de S. José, a qual possui o colarinho ornado com doze rosas de ouro incrustadas de pedras vermelhas e o vestido com botões de cristal incrustados de ouro. Refere ainda escravos – um negro que deixa à confraria de Jesus; Filipa a qual liberta e doa dez mil réis, e o serviço da sua cozinha, com a condição de se casar; a mulata Maria que servirá a sua sobrinha Isabel Pais durante dez anos, após o que se casaria e receberia dez mil réis.

Codicil by which Pedro Vaz Rexa bequeaths two houses the Senado da Câmara de Lisboa has leased him to Francisca da Gaia, his niece, and to Ana da Gaia, respectively sister and daughter of Simão da Gaia, heir of his entail, under the condition that each of them shall order a daily mass for his soul in the convent of S. Francisco de Xabregas, if the Senado allows it. They shall be bequeathed to their descendents. If they have none, they can appoint another successor o sell the houses with their respective obligations. If the Senado doesn't allow the entailment of these houses, their possessors shall find other properties to entail in their place, with the same conditions.
He also declares that if the lineage of Simão da Gaia is extinguished, his entail shall pass to Manuel Mendes, his cousin, and to his descendants, and establishes new clauses for this entail.

Codicil by which Margarida Manso Temudo, Gil Vaz de Pina's wife, altered clauses of her previous will. She designated her husband as her universal heir and executor of her will, leaving him a farmstead in Póvoa ("quinta dos Caniços") and other properties. He and his successors were henceforth obligated to support the celebration of 10 masses, every year, for her soul in the convent of Nossa Senhora da Caridade of Sardoal. If her husband left no descendants and her assets were inherited by Santa Casa da Misericórdia, its brothers would have to celebrate 20 annual masses for her soul and for the soul of her husband in perpetuity. She declared that her body had to be buried in the Casa de Nossa Senhora, in that village. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1618-02-06.

Codicil by which João Rodrigues Novais declared that he wanted to be buried in the Monastery of Santo António and then be taken to the Monastery of Carmo in Torres Novas, where he contracted to have the family chapel. He also founded another entail due to the fact that he had a natural daughter during his widowhood. If his daughter died without heirs, it should succeed his niece and her children. This entail is composed of the "Quinta de Vale de Mouro" with its cattle, on the outskirts of Alenquer, houses, ovens, "estalagens" in Vila Nova da Rainha, rents in Alfândega de Lisboa and a "casal" on the outskirts of Santarém.

Codicil by which Jorge de Barros and his wife Filipa de Melo declared that Francisco de Barros, brother of Jorge de Barros, designated the institutor to be his heir, giving him 4 000 cruzados for the celebration of masses, which should be incorporated into this entail. The institutors also ordered that it should be given 30 000 réis, a quarter of wine, a jar of oil and houses to each chaplain, and also some legacies to women.

He appoints Aires Pacheco as chaplain, or João Pinto, if the preceding did not want to, or João de Paiva, if the latter did not want to. He confirms the appointment of Baltasar Viegas, as executor and administrator.

Codicil of Catarina Rodrigues Pimenta, widow of João Fernandes, ordering the fulfillment of the previous will done together with her husband. She established a chapel, at the hermitage of Santo António, near Moura, entailing the real estate he owned with that hermitage to fulfill the charges. She appoints António Rodrigues, her husband's nephew, as the first administrator. She orders that, after his death, the administration be transferred to the same administrator of the principal chapel, and then remain in the same administrator.
She appoints Álvaro, nephew of João Fernandes, son of Lourenço de Pina, his co-brother cousin, and Inês Fernandes, as administrator of the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição. However, he could only receive it after completing 25 years, until then, being administration by Cristóvão de Almeida, nephew of the institutor. If the first died before reaching that age, or without children who could inherit it, he would be left to Cristóvão de Almeida and if he died without legitimate children, to António de Pina, son of Rui de Pina, also only after turning 25 years old.
It also contains an approval deed (dated 1516-08-09), and an opening deed of a will (dated 1518-03-07).

Codicil by which Maria de Brito Carneiro founded a chapel, incorporating some assets to fulfill the pious charges in the altar of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, in the Monastery of São Francisco de Évora. She appointed the priest Frei João Castro, her son, to be its first administrator. If his superiors did not authorize the possession of these assets, they should be transferred to her daughter D. Páscoa de Brito, nun in the convent of Paraíso of Évora. After the death of both of them, it should succeed her son Francisco Carneiro de Brito and his children.

Codicil by which Gonçalo Rodrigues Nogueira established an entail, composed of a property in Alegrete ("assento de Vale da Covilhã"), obligating its future administrators to celebrate ten masses every year. He designated his wife, Ana de Miranda, to administrate it and Pedro Rodrigues, his nephew, to succeed her. After the death of Ana de Miranda, the remaining assets belonging to the couple would be attached to the entail and more perpetual masses would be added to those already celebrated. Pedro Rodrigues would transmite it to their children, Gonçalo and Isabel. The entail would always be administrated by two people.

Revoking this nomination, Leonor Vaz now appointed Lopo Vaz to be the first administrator of half of her chapel during his lifetime. Luís de Sousa, arcebispo de Lisboa, cardeal da Igreja Romana, do Conselho de Estado do Rei and his capelão-mor, by which he annexes to the entail he had established in his will the properties he now possessed as cardeal. He also nullifies a previous donation he had made to his nephew, the príncipe senescal de Ligne and marquês de Arronches, because it would empoverish his entail. He establishes that the possessions he had previously donated to him should, instead, be annexed to his entail, and be inherited by its successors. He also establishes that the administrators of his entail shall give six pitchers of olive oil to keep two lamps lit in the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Piedade in the cloister of the cathedral of Lisboa.
Followed by approval deed, dated 1700-07-01; opening deed, dated 1702-01-03; and another codicil, dated 1701-12-27. In this codicil, the institutor ratifies his institution and clarifies that, if there are no male successors to the entail of the marquês de Arronches, his own entail should pass to D. Luís Casimira, daughter of the current marquesa de Arronches, or to one of her sisters.

Codicil by which Garcia Rodrigues de Távora revokes his previous will and codicil. He orders the employment of the remaining part of his properties in the foundation of a female monastery of the order of S. Bernardo, under the regular observance of the order of Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo. This monastery should receive nuns belonging to his family and to other noble families in need who should pray two daily masses for his soul. He asks his brother, Lourenço Pires de Távora, to fulfil his will and to build this monastery, of which he shall be the patron, and after his death, his eldest son and their successors.

Codicil by which João Monteiro established that he wanted his wife to be his heir and the entail's administrator, with the obligation to celebrate masses in the Church of São Vicente de Fora, in Lisboa. He also determined that he wanted to order the celebration of masses for the soul of the Infante D. Henrique, Mestre da Ordem de Cristo, in compensation for the institutor's negligence in the administration of his chapels.

Francisco da Costa is free to appoint whoever he chooses to administrate the entail after his death.

He revokes the clause which established that, if his brother and heir had no successors, the administration would pass to the Misericórdia of Ourém, declaring that it will pass instead to their closest relative. He declares that Vidal Homem, João Pereira's eldest son, will inherit the entail after his father's death. If he has no successors, it will pass to one of his siblings, with the exception of Nuno Rodrigues, who will not inherit it in spite of being older.

The fourth entail would be composed of some houses in the outskirts of Alpalhão over which the institutor imposed a perpetual mass obligation of two masses celebrated every year on saturdays of the Virgin Mary, and to administrate it she named her nephew Manuel Dias Jordão, with the condition that he would appoint one of his children or relatives to succeed him with the same conditions. The sixth entail would be composed of some lands in Santarém, over which the institutor imposed a perpetual obligation of five masses celebrated every year, and to administrate it she named her sister Beatriz Henriques during her lifetime, with the condition that she would appoint one of her children or relatives to succeed her on the administration.

Capela de Francisco Favela, comendador e cavaleiro da Ordem de Cristo, instituída em 1579-11-26, com encargo de seus missas anuais celebrada no mosteiro de São Francisco. Uma nota escrita na folha trinta e cinco verso refere que esta capela é imposta na fazenda da Cruz de Carvalho e numa casa feita por João Rodrigues.

Codicil made by Catarina Martins in which she ordered the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of masses celebrated every year in Monforte. She appointed Catarina de Sequeira to be the first administrator during her lifetime, with the obligation to profess or marry according to the will of the parents. Until the marriage, the administration of the chapel would fall to her brother.

Capela de D. Inês Pais, filha de Diogo Pais, instituída em 1599-08-14 com encargo de duas missas anuais, imposto nas casas e serrado do “Acipreste”, e num “lugar da Ribeira de Gonçalo Aires” que deixa a seu sobrinho Diogo Pais da Cunha.
Institui um outro vínculo, imposto numa propriedade nos Piornais, administrado por sua sobrinha Isabel Pais.
O testamento e os dois codicilos aprovados em 1600-04-06 e 1600-02-26, respetivamente, referem: que a instituidora é irmã de Pedro Chamorra da Cunha; que deixa a Inês Pais um quintal de canas junto da roda do engenho de D. Maria Ferreira com pensão de duas missas; identifica outras propriedades; menciona jóias, entre as quais uma imagem de Nossa Senhora que deixa à confraria de S. José, a qual possui o colarinho ornado com doze rosas de ouro incrustadas de pedras vermelhas e o vestido com botões de cristal incrustados de ouro. Refere ainda escravos – um negro que deixa à confraria de Jesus; Filipa a qual liberta e doa dez mil réis, e o serviço da sua cozinha, com a condição de se casar; a mulata Maria que servirá a sua sobrinha Isabel Pais durante dez anos, após o que se casaria e receberia dez mil réis.

Codicil by which João Dias, o Escudeiro, revokes certain clauses of his will. He changes his burial place from the church of S. Sebastião to the convent of S. Domingos de Benfica, where he establishes an obligation of three annual masses for his soul. He entails to it a rose garden and his houses in Palma de Baixo, Lisboa. He appoints his daughter, Ana Dias, as his heir and executor. After her death, he appoints his granddaughter, Maria de Fanca (?), wife of João Munhoz, and their children afterwards, in order that the entail is always in his successors' lineage.

Codicil made by Cristina de Matos by which she confirms the dispositions of her will chart and adds some legacies to it. Among them, she instituted a chapel, entailing the assets she had left to Diogo Tavares with a perpetual pious obligation of five masses celebrated every year at the Altar of Chagas, in the church of Santa Maria de Castelo de Vide. She appointed Diogo Tavares to be the first administrator during his lifetime and, after his death, he shall be succeeded by his descendants.
