Will chart by which D. Joana de Macedo, António de Sousa's widow, established a chapel, entailing to it a rent (foro) of wheat and barley extracted from properties in Évora ("herdade da Fonte Boa"). She designated her nephew, Ascenso de Sequeira de Macedo, to administrate it, determining that him and his descendants had to support the celebration of a daily perpetual mass in the convent of Santa Maria do Espinheiro, where her body should be buried next to her husband's remains; and a mass, every year, in the church of Misericórdia. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1566-05-20.

Will chart by which Violante Henriques da Penha founded an entail, incorporating in it the remaining of the third part of her assets and rents (foros) extracted from lands (casais) in Nossa Senhora do Monte, outskirts of Almada. She appointed her son, Duarte Vaz Pinto, to administrate it, ordering him to pass it to his eldest son or, if he left no offspring, to his eldest sister, Branca Pinto.
The testator also determined that, after her death, 3 weekly masses should be celebrated, every year, for her soul in the chapel she and her husband, Cristóvão Vaz Pinto, had in the convent of Nossa Senhora da Anunciada of Lisboa. That pious obligation would be fulfilled up until the time her husband ordered the celebration of a daily perpetual mass for their souls. She designated him to be her universal heir. Her body would be buried in that chapel. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1608-10-26 and an opening deed dated 1610-10-10.

Genebra Teixeira, João de Barros Cardoso' widow, bequeathed the third part of her assets to António Barros, her son, ordering him to entail to it the third part of his estate and to pass it to his eldest son. If António died without leaving descendants, the entail would be inherited by the institutor's other son, Bento de Barros. She declared that her body had to be buried in the chapel of Madre de Deus of the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, where her father, Rui Dias, and husband lied. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1608-10-13 and an opening deed issued on 1609-09-22.

Will chart by which D. Afonso de Castelo Branco, Meirinho-mor do Reino, and his wife, D. Isabel de Castro, established an entail with the third part of their assets, which included houses in Évora, determining that it should be annexed to the entail instituted by D. Guiomar de Noronha ("morgado de Montalvo") and administrated by their eldest son. Therefore, it would be transmitted according to the clauses of its foundation deed. However, if they were unable of bearing a son, their entail would not be attached to the one founded by Guiomar de Noronha. Instead it would be administrated by the institutor's eldest daughter, D. Maria de Castro, and her husband, D. Garcia de Meneses, and transmitted to their descendants. They also incorporated a tapestry in their entail and a rent (foro) of wheat taken from a property in Serpa to Guiomar de Noronha's entail, which they administrated. They declared that their bodies would be buried in the main chapel of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Moura. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1556-08-25.

Will chart of Pedro Vaz, establishing a chapel in the church of Nossa Senhora da Alva, in Aljezur, where he wants to be buried. He entails certain properties to fulfill the charges and appoints Gaspar Vaz, his son and executor, as the first administrator. Susana Botelho, his granddaughter, daughter of Vicente Botelho, who is now deceased, is also appointed as administrator, with a third of her assets and charges. If Gaspar Vaz could not administer it, he should pass it to the grandchildren of the institutor, sons of Vicente Botelho. If there were no heirs, he stayed for Nossa Senhora de Alva.
The will chart comes from a certificate (dated 1598-06-18), as the respective approval deed (dated 1598-05-25).

He instituted a chapel, located in that church, appointing João Grande, as the first administrator, with his son to succeed him. If the offspring were to be extinguished, he should pass on to that of Martinho Bartolomeu.

If he died childless, he would stay with Isabel da Costa, his sister. In case of non-compliance, he would remain in the Misericórdia of the place where he was buried.

Will chart of Pedro Eanes do Canto founding, among other dispositions, two entails, one for his son António Pires, born of his first marriage with Joana da Barca, and the other for his son João da Silva, born of his second marriage with Violante da Silva. For the first entail he entailed several properties in the islands of São Jorge, Pico and Faial, and a estate named Quinta de São Pedro, with a perpetual mass obligation of a weekly mass in the church of N. Sra. de Nazaré built on the same state, where a monument in his homenage should be built declaring that he participated on the battles of Arzila, Azamor, Afnul, Benegisna, in Persia and Almedina. For the second entail he entailed several properties in Terceira island, in Cabo da Praia, mount Brasil and a state in Lajes, also with a perpetual mass obligation with a weekly mass preached on the chapel of Jesus, that he was building in the main church of Angra. Both the entails had identical obligations, and António Pires should choose which one he would have, and João da Silva should have the other one. Both should be succeeded by their eldest sons, preferably male, and each administrator should annex 2/3 of his own reserved portion (terça) to the entail. The administrators should also use the surname "do Canto" or lose the administration. He also appoints Francisco da Silva, his illegitimate son, to succeed him on the administration of the chapel founded by Vasco Afonso, vicar of Machico, island of Madeira.

Will made by Pedro Jorge in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual obligation of two masses celebrated every week in the church of São Sebastião, in Ponta Delgada, or in the chapel that he wished to build, devoted to Jesus Christ. He named their son Jerónimo Jorge as first administrator and after his death, the administration should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir, or the closest relative if any administrator died without heirs. He also ordered that the administrator should always give two shirts worth 30 réis to two indigents by Christmas.

Will chart of Manuel Silveiro Ferreira and Luísa da Ponte, his wife, ordering their grave in the convent of São Francisco of Estremoz. They instituted a chapel, entailing a third of their assets, after completing the legacies, to fulfill the charges, celebrated in that convent. They appoint whoever survives them as first administrator, with the power to appoint the successor, that must belong to his lineage. The administrator had to made tombo the assets and register the will chart in the "Livro das Capelas do Convento" and in the Provedoria.

Will chart made by Gaspar de Chaves in which he ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with the perpetual obligation of half chapel of masses celebrated in the church of S. Sebastião, in Ponta Delgada, where his body should be buried, next to his parent's grave. He named his wife Beatriz Soares to administrate the entail until his son Manuel Chaves comes of age. After the death of Manuel Chaves, the succession should always continue on the eldest male heir. However, if Manuel had no children, the administration should be given to his nun daughter [whose name is not mentioned] during her life, and after her death his nephew Baltasar and his brother Gaspar. If none had descendants, the administration should be given to the closest relative of the generation of his mother, Madalena Fernandes.

Will chart of Luís Craveiro, ordering his grave in the monastery of São Francisco de Palhais. He established an entail by entailing all his immovable assets after the legacies had been fulfilled. The pious charges associated to the entail must be celebrated at the altar of Almas of the parish where the administrator lived. He appoints Gaspar do Couto, married to a niece of the institutor, first administrator.

He appoints Manuel de Sousa de Alvim, his son, executor and first administrator, to be succeded by his eldest male son. In case of extinction of the lineage, the administration would pass to the monastery of São Martinho de Tibães.
He establishes another entail and chapel, entailing a farm, located in Seiça, on the outskirts of Ourém. He appoints Simão de Sousa de Alvim, his son, first administrator. The charges were to be celebrated in the church of Seiça. The same clauses had to be fulfilled for the institution of the entail of the Quinta de Pedrógão.
He establishes another entail and chapel, entailing grain income, in the amount of 100.000 réis, coming from Alfeizerão. He appoints Pedro de Melo de Sousa, his son, first administrator. The charges were to be celebrated in the church of Alfeizerão. The same clauses had to be fulfilled for the institution of the entail of the Quinta de Pedrógão.

After his death, he would be succeeded by Francisco, his son, and from there on the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir.

He appoints his brother, Pedro da Costa, as his heir, and orders him to buy properties with the remaining part of his assets, in order to establish an entail with the obligation of a weekly mass in his burial place. These properties shall then be inherited by his eldest son or, if he doesn't have descendance, by their closest relative.

Will chart made by Constança Afonso, widow of Diogo Vaz Cavaleiro in which she ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of two entails. The first one would have a perpetual mass obligation of a weekly mass celebrated in the church of the Misericórdia, in Ponta Delgada, and to administrate it, she named her nephew Afonso Eanes, priest, and his eldest brother after his death, and from there on the entail should follow the ordenações and the legal costums of the Portuguese kingdom. The second entail would be administrated by her daughter Isabel Dias and her descendants after her, with no mass obligation.

Will chart of Pedro Vaz de Castelo Branco, instituting an entail, with head on the Pindo's farm, entailing all the assets he had in Beira, in the municipalities of Penalva, Azurara and Povolide, as well as some houses in Lisboa, to fulfill the charges, celebrated at the altar of Santa Maria Madalena, in the church of Pindo, where he orders his grave. He appoints Pedro Vaz de Castelo Branco, his son, executor, universal heir and administrator of the entail. He mentions a chapel in Lisboa, created by his wife, intending that the succession in the entail he instituted would follow the same principles as that chapel, since both would remain with his son.

Will chart made by António Lopes de Faria in which he ordered, among several other dispositions, the foundation of an entail in Vila da Praia with a perpetual obligation of chapel of masses in the hermitage of N. Sra. do Rosário. He appointed his nephew Pedro de Faria as first administrator of the entail and always, preferably, the eldest male heir after him. If Pedro dies without descendants, the administration should be given to António de Faria or the closest relative. He ordered that the administrator should give yearly 1 000 cruzados to the Confraria de Nossa Senhora do Rosário and 10 cruzados to his poorest relatives. He ordered that all the administrators should bear the surname "Faria" or otherwise lose the administration. Finally, he recommended that his nephews should always nourish friendship between them and with the people of Lagoa, conserving the manners of the land and not those of their original lan, Vila do Conde. He also mentioned that his father founded a chapel in Vila do Conde and therefore the administrator of this newly founded entail should administrate both of them.

They entail to it lands (casais) in Sintra, Cascais and Olivais, whose revenues should also support the celebration of annual masses in the church of S. Nicolau of Lisboa, where their bodies would be buried. After the death of one of the members of the couple, the surviving one should become the shelter's administrator, passing it to Estêvão Pires, alfaiate. He is bound to transmit it to his eldest son. After the death of D. Isabel, half of the assets of Jerónimo Vieira da Maia, valued at 35 000 réis, should be entailed to the chapel in the church of São Mamede of Évora, and should be administrated by Águeda, daughter of Sebastião Fernandes and Isabel Mendes, "criada" , and then by her eldest son.

She designates her daughter, Mariana Marques, as first administrator. Her eldest male son was to succeed her. He instituted pious obligations of celebrating annual masses in the chapel of Jesus, in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa, and in his chapel, in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Évora. He chooses to be temporarily buried in the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. Those houses could be sold. Nevertheless, the testator declares that, if Violante da Fonseca dies childless, the entailed houses should be inherited by her eldest male relative. Miguel de Alfama, which her first husband, Bernardo de Abreu, had left her with the obligation of celebrating annual masses for his soul in that convent, to Serafina de Abreu, his niece. He determined that his body had to be buried in the grave of Álvaro de Ataíde, since his chapel was being built at that moment in Nossa Senhora do Rosário, Alvor. His wife, Guiomar Simões, would be responsible for choosing the patron saint of the chapel, where the testator's remains would be deposited and a weekly perpetual mass would be celebrated for his soul. The future administrators of that chapel would be obligated to maintain it and to preserve its ornaments.
The institutor established another chapel, entailing to it all the assets he had inherited from Aldonça de Arvelos, his cousin, namely two watermills in Lagos, houses on Rua de Pedro Borges, in that city, and unspecified rents (foros). The revenues of those properties would support the celebration of a perpetual mass every friday wherever his body would be buried. He designated his wife to administrate it, asking her to entail the houses in which they lived in Alvor to the chapel. She would be succeeded by her nephew, Francisco de Freitas, who would transmit it to his eldest son.

For the first entail he entailed several properties in the islands of São Jorge, Pico and Faial, and a estate named Quinta de São Pedro, with a perpetual mass obligation of a weekly mass in the church of N. Sra. de Nazaré built on the same state, where a monument in his homenage should be built declaring that he participated on the battles of Arzila, Azamor, Afnul, Benegisna, in Persia and Almedina. For the second entail he entailed several properties in Terceira island, in Cabo da Praia, mount Brasil and a state in Lajes, also with a perpetual mass obligation with a weekly mass preached on the chapel of Jesus, that he was building in the main church of Angra. Both the entails had identical obligations, and António Pires should choose which one he would have, and João da Silva should have the other one. Both should be succeeded by their eldest sons, preferably male, and each administrator should annex 2/3 of his own reserved portion (terça) to the entail. The administrators should also use the surname "do Canto" or lose the administration. He also appoints Francisco da Silva, his illegitimate son, to succeed him on the administration of the chapel founded by Vasco Afonso, vicar of Machico, island of Madeira.

Will chart of Jorge de Sousa de Alvim, ordering his grave in the hermitage of Santo António, which he had built at his Quinta de Pedrógão, on the outskirts of Torres Novas. He establishes an entail and chapel, entailing all his assets, located in the Quinta de Pedrógão and on the outskirts of Torres Novas and Porto de Mós. He appoints Manuel de Sousa de Alvim, his son, executor and first administrator, to be succeded by his eldest male son. In case of extinction of the lineage, the administration would pass to the monastery of São Martinho de Tibães.
He establishes another entail and chapel, entailing a farm, located in Seiça, on the outskirts of Ourém. He appoints Simão de Sousa de Alvim, his son, first administrator. The charges were to be celebrated in the church of Seiça. The same clauses had to be fulfilled for the institution of the entail of the Quinta de Pedrógão.
He establishes another entail and chapel, entailing grain income, in the amount of 100.000 réis, coming from Alfeizerão. He appoints Pedro de Melo de Sousa, his son, first administrator. The charges were to be celebrated in the church of Alfeizerão. The same clauses had to be fulfilled for the institution of the entail of the Quinta de Pedrógão.
He establishes another chapel, entailing a farm, located in Vila Verde, in the municipality of Vila Chã, on the outskirts of Braga. He appoints Henrique de Sousa de Alvim, his son, first administrator. The charges were to be celebrated in the church of São Paio of Vila Verde. The same clauses had to be fulfilled for the institution of the entail of the Quinta de Pedrógão.

Will chart by which Leonor Fernandes, Lourenço Eanes' widow, bequeaths an olive grove, in S. Lázaro, to João de Santiago with the obligation of giving, each year, olive oil to light a lamp in her chapel of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. The property should be transmitted to his son.
The testator establishes an entail with houses in Lisboa and a farmstead (quinta) in Camarate, appointing Afonso Taveira, Pedro Taveira's son, her grandnephew, to be its first administrator. He and his descendants are obligated to support the celebration of annual masses in her chapel of the convent of S. Domingos, to give, each year, olive oil to light a lamp inside it and 4 200 reais brancos to its friars.
She founds another entail with houses in Lisboa and lands (casal) in Alcântara and Alcolena, determining that its first administrator should be Rui da Grã, Desembargador do Rei, her nephew. The future administrators of the entail must support the celebration of annual masses for her soul in the church of S. Mamede of that city.

Will chart of Leonor Jorge, ordering her sepulture in the church of Nossa Senhora da Piedade of Odeceixe. She leaves the legitimate part of her assets to Vicente Bocarro, her husband and executor. After his death, they should remain to Beatriz Bocarro, his niece, and then for the firstborn male son, in charge of masses.
It also has the respective approval deed (date 1615-01-27).

Will chart of Lourenço Coelho Leitão and D. Ana Cardoso de Távora, his wife. They ordered their grave in their chapel, invoking the Santissímo Sacramento, in the Cathedral of Viseu. The administrators of the chapel would be obliged to ensure that burial, or transfer of their bodies, should they die elsewhere, under penalty of losing the administration. They had built the chapel and endowed it with ornaments and vestments, after signing a contract with D. Frei João de Portugal, bishop of Viseu, later updated between the founders and the Chapter. The chapel was to have four chaplains, two appointed by each administrator. They entail various assets to fulfill the charges. For administrators, on behalf of Lourenço Coelho Leitão, they nominate João Gomes Leitão, his nephew, and on the part of Ana Cardoso de Távora, Manuel Homem Cardoso, his nephew. Together, they also nominate the provider of Misericórdia of Viseu.
João Gomes Leitão was to be succeeded by the founder's closest male relative, who lived in the city of Viseu, with his priority descendants. Manuel Homem Cardoso was to be succeeded by a male descendant. If he didn't have them, the administration would pass to Constantino Moreira, his brother.
Lourenço Coelho Leitão also administered an entail, instituted by his father, who had entailed Cotão's farm, among other properties, appointing, according to the institution, João Gomes Leitão, his nephew, to administer it. He attaches assets to this entail, also for the institution's fulfillment.
Doutor Bonifácio Martins Homem, father of Ana Cardoso de Távora, had left, in his will, an entail with a third of his assets, which his daughter had to administer, with the obligation to also entailed the third part of her assets. However, having spent the whole third of his possessions in the fulfillment of legates, the entail could not be established. She, however, entails assets of her third, for the institution of this entail. She appoints Manuel Homem Cardoso, son of Dionísio Homem Cardoso, her cousin, to administer it.

Will chart by which Constança Rodrigues da Câmara founded a chapel or entail, with the obligation to celebrate masses in the convent of Santa Clara, in Funchal. She incorporated some assets located in the parish of São Pedro, in Funchal, and the "Quinta do Pico do Cardo". The institutor designated her nephew Pedro Afonso de Aguiar and his wife D. Ana Teive, to be her last will executors and the first administrators of her entail.

Will chart by which Beatriz Fernandes de Melim leaves all her assets, after completing the legacies, to Jerónimo Luís and Leonor de Azevedo, his wife, who were appointed as her universal heirs. She entails those assets to her chapel, with the obligation of fulfilling pious charges, celebrated in that convent. She demands to be buried in the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa, in the grave where already lied her son, Sebastião de Melim. She establishes that two exemplifications of her will chart were going to be kept in the referred convent and in the Hospital of Todos os Santos.

Will chart by which Diogo Mendes and his wife Isabel Fernandes wanted to be buried in the mother church of São Sebastião of Ponta Delgada, in the grave of Rui Fernandes, his father and father-in-law. They incorporated some immovable property, for the fulfillment of the charges, celebrated in the church of Nossa Senhora dos Anjos de Fajã. They designated their son António Mendes Farto to be its first administrator. The administrator should be the eldest son and chosen by the previous one, among the grandchildren of the institutors.

Will chart by which the priest João de Pontes established an entail, using all his property, furniture and immovables. He designated his daughter Branca and her descendants to be his heirs. If his daughter did not have children, the administration would pass to the Hospital of Benavente, which was under the responsibility of the Council. Followed by a list of the entailed properties.

Will chart by which Diogo Figueira wanted to be buried in the church of the Convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Torres Novas. He established an entail, incorporating several assets for the fulfillment of the pious charges. He designated his wife Maria de Reboredo to be his last will executor and to choose between Martinho, António or Diogo to be the administrator of this entail. The administrator should also marry with Genebra, daughter of Helena de Figueiredo, the institutor's niece, and their son should succeed in this entail.

Will chart by which João de Castro Moreno wanted to be buried in the chapel of his brother Manuel Moreno, in the Cathedral of Elvas. He established an entail, incorporating several immovable properties and designating his nephew Pedro, son of Gabriel Moreno and Maria Mexia, to be its first administrator. The institutor's sister Clara Rodrigues should have the usufruct of half of the entail's income during her lifetime, as well as his niece Leonor Mexia, after Clara's death.
