Catarina should also appoint a successor to the administrator of the entail.

Codicil made by Inês Fernandes, in which she ordered the foundation of an entail, composed of a vineyard in the outskirts of Arronches, with a perpetual mass obligation of seven masses celebrated every year. She named her husband Bartolomeu Sanches as first administrator of the entail and after his death, he would be succeeded by their son André Fernandes, and from there on the succession should always continue on the eldest male heir, and if he had none, their eldest grandson, son of André's sisters.

Codicil of Gonçalo Vaz reaffirming that he leaves the remainder of his untested goods to comply pious charges in the chapel he institutes, attaching to him a land (courela) of Figueiras, which leaves to Domingos Pacheco, his nephew, in case of D. Filipa, sister of Domingos Pacheco, become a nun. If not, she would have the land and the charges, and should appoint one of her children to manage it. If they went against the institution, the chapel would be left to Sebastião Monteiro, his nephew and executor.

After her death Isabel would be succeeded by her descendants, or, if she had none, by her brother, Nuno Vaz, son of the institutor.

The first entail would have a perpetual pious obligation of four masses celebrated every year and would be administrated by her nephew capitão João de Matos, during his lifetime, and, after his death, he would appoint one of his children to succeed him, or, if he had none, the administration would be handled to the closest relative of the institutor's lineage. This entail is composed of half of a vineyard in Vale de Fernão Calvo, Castelo Branco. The second entail would have a perpetual pious obligation of four masses celebrated every year and would be administrated by her niece Beatriz Gomes, during her lifetime, and, after her death, she would appoint one of her children to succeed her, or, if she had none, the administration would be handled to the closest relative of the institutor's lineage. This entail is composed of another half of the vineyard in Vale de Fernão Calvo, Castelo Branco. The third entail would have a perpetual pious obligation of four masses celebrated every year and would be administrated by Isabel Dias, sister of the institutor, during her lifetime, and, after her death, she would be succeeded by her son padre Manuel D'Alva, who would administrate it during his lifetime, and, before his death, he would appoint one of his siblings to succeed him with the same conditions above, appointing one chield on the succession. This entail is composed of a"fazenda" in Portalegre, and houses and lands in Castelo de Vide and on its outskirts.

[The codicil is preceded by a will made in common hand with her husband Manuel Martins Barriga in 1639-12-01, in which they ordered the foundation of a chapel that would be administrated by the Confraria das Almas].

Codicil made in Portalegre by Ana Nunes in which she revoked a donation of an olive grove that she have made on her will to the Confraria da Misericórdia, donating it instead to her niece Leonor Gonçalves, and thereby ordering the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of three masses celebrated every year as long as the world lasted. After the death of Leonor she would be succeeded, in this order, by padre António de Semedo, Salvador Dias Barbeiro, Maria Gonçalves, Pedro de Semedo and, finally by João de Semedo, son of Pedro, and from there on the succession should always continue, preferably, on the eldest heir.

Codicil made in Alpalhão by Maria Ferreira, mulher devota, in which she ordered the foundation of six entails. The first entail would be composed of two lands, one in Nisa and the other in Gáfete, over which the institutor imposed a perpetual obligation of five masses celebrated every year, and to administrate it she named her nephew Manuel during his lifetime, and, after his death, he would choose an eldest son or daughter to succeed him with the same conditions. The second entail would be composed of some lands in the outskirts of Alpalhão, over which the institutor imposed a perpetual obligation of three masses celebrated every year, and to administrate it she named her niece Maria Inchada during her lifetime, and, after her death, she would choose an eldest son or daughter to succeed her with the same conditions. The third entail would be composed of lands in the outskirts of Crato, Alfragil, Nisa and Figueiró, over which the institutor imposed a perpetual obligation of five masses celebrated every year, and to administrate it she named her nephew Pedro Inchado with the condition that he and all his successors would appoint a son or daughter to succeed on the administration. The fourth entail would be composed of some houses in the outskirts of Alpalhão over which the institutor imposed a perpetual mass obligation of two masses celebrated every year on saturdays of the Virgin Mary, and to administrate it she named her nephew Manuel Dias Jordão, with the condition that he would appoint one of his children or relatives to succeed him with the same conditions. The fifth entail would be composed of a house and a land in Alpalhão, over which the institutor imposed a perpetual obligation of one mass celebrated every year, and to administrate it she named her great-niece Beatriz with the condition that she would appoint one of her children or relatives to succeed her with the same conditions. The sixth entail would be composed of some lands in Santarém, over which the institutor imposed a perpetual obligation of five masses celebrated every year, and to administrate it she named her sister Beatriz Henriques during her lifetime, with the condition that she would appoint one of her children or relatives to succeed her on the administration.

She appointed Catarina de Sequeira to be the first administrator during her lifetime, with the obligation to profess or marry according to the will of the parents. Until the marriage, the administration of the chapel would fall to her brother.

O testamento e os dois codicilos aprovados em 1600-04-06 e 1600-02-26, respetivamente, referem: que a instituidora é irmã de Pedro Chamorra da Cunha; que deixa a Inês Pais um quintal de canas junto da roda do engenho de D. Maria Ferreira com pensão de duas missas; identifica outras propriedades; menciona jóias, entre as quais uma imagem de Nossa Senhora que deixa à confraria de S. José, a qual possui o colarinho ornado com doze rosas de ouro incrustadas de pedras vermelhas e o vestido com botões de cristal incrustados de ouro. Refere ainda escravos – um negro que deixa à confraria de Jesus; Filipa a qual liberta e doa dez mil réis, e o serviço da sua cozinha, com a condição de se casar; a mulata Maria que servirá a sua sobrinha Isabel Pais durante dez anos, após o que se casaria e receberia dez mil réis.

Codicil by which João Dias, o Escudeiro, revokes certain clauses of his will. He changes his burial place from the church of S. Sebastião to the convent of S. Domingos de Benfica, where he establishes an obligation of three annual masses for his soul. He entails to it a rose garden and his houses in Palma de Baixo, Lisboa. He appoints his daughter, Ana Dias, as his heir and executor. After her death, he appoints his granddaughter, Maria de Fanca (?), wife of João Munhoz, and their children afterwards, in order that the entail is always in his successors' lineage.

Codicil made by Cristina de Matos by which she confirms the dispositions of her will chart and adds some legacies to it. Among them, she instituted a chapel, entailing the assets she had left to Diogo Tavares with a perpetual pious obligation of five masses celebrated every year at the Altar of Chagas, in the church of Santa Maria de Castelo de Vide. She appointed Diogo Tavares to be the first administrator during his lifetime and, after his death, he shall be succeeded by his descendants.

Codicil by which Helena Antunes adds bequests to her will and clarifies some aspects about the receivers of the third part of her assets. She orders her will executors to buy a public debt instrument with the part she will leave to her daughter Joana, with the obligation of a monthly mass in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Lisboa. The income should be handed to her son António until Joana reaches 13 years old, with the obligation of buying a property and accomplishing the pious charge. If Joana dies or becomes a nun, António should continue as administrator. If António becomes a friar, she gives alternatives for the succession in these assets’ administration within a circle of close relatives.
It is followed by an approval deed (dated 1599-10-15) and a certificate of an opening deed of codicil (dated 1599-10-25).

Codicil by which João Rodrigues Novais declared that he wanted to be buried in the Monastery of Santo António and then be taken to the Monastery of Carmo in Torres Novas, where he contracted to have the family chapel. He also founded another entail due to the fact that he had a natural daughter during his widowhood. If his daughter died without heirs, it should succeed his niece and her children. This entail is composed of the "Quinta de Vale de Mouro" with its cattle, on the outskirts of Alenquer, houses, ovens, "estalagens" in Vila Nova da Rainha, rents in Alfândega de Lisboa and a "casal" on the outskirts of Santarém.

Codicil by which Paio Rodrigues revoked part of his will, declaring that his children should not inherit the assets entailed to Pedro Vaz da Praça's chapel nor the third part of his assets. After his death, his estate would be divided in two parts, one would be given to his grandson, Jorge da Cunha, and the other to António, his other grandson. They were both sons of Pedro da Cunha and Constança Soares. Each of them had to transmit his patrimony to his descendants with the obligation of celebrating 2 annual masses. If they died without leaving offspring, they would be succeeded by Gaspar, their brother. The testator also appointed Pedro Vaz, his son, to administrate Fernando Pais' chapel. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1528-02-14.

Codicil by which Garcia Rodrigues de Távora orders the reservation of 400 000 réis of interest for the establishment of a chapel with two daily masses for his soul in the place his brother, Lourenço Pires de Távora, thought best. He designates as administrator of this chapel his nephew, Cristóvão de Távora, and after his death the heir of his house. He reiterates his wish to build the monastery ordered in his previous codicil.
Followed by an approval deed of the codicil and the opening deed, dated 1572-02-12; and by a contract and bond deed in which António de Castilho, executor of Garcia Rodrigues de Távora, buys the lands where the monastery will be built, in the place of Cardais, Lisboa.

Chapel foundation deed by which João Lopes Figueira and João de Gusmão, fidalgos da Casa do Rei, as executors of André da Silva's will, appoint Vicente Figueira d'Altero, João Lopes Figueira's son, as administrator and heir of the chapel established by André da Silva and his wife, Joana de Sequeira, in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. The document mentions André da Silva's will, by which he ordered that his properties should be bequeathed to his wife, during her lifetime, and that after her death they would be entailed and bequeathed to a person chosen by João Lopes Figueira and João de Gusmão, and to this person's successors thereafter, with the obligation of one annual mass for their souls.

Chapel foundation deed (extract) by which Afonso de Torres and Violante de Melo establish the chapel of Diogo de Torres and Beatriz de Castilho, Afonso de Torres' parents, entailing their third parts, which they had bequeathed them, and a public debt instrument of 50 000 réis. They state that they signed a contract with the priests of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Lisboa in 1556 to have their grave in the new chapter house of the convent and to transfer the remains of their parents there.

Chapel foundation deed by which D. Gonçalo Vaz de Castelo Branco, Regedor da Casa do Cível, and D. Beatriz Valente, his wife, established a chapel in the church of S. Martinho of Lisboa, entailing to it the third part of their assets, which included salterns (marinhas) in Póvoa, lands (casal) in Arruda and houses in Rua de Cata-que-farás, Lisboa. The revenues of those assets would support the celebration of annual masses for their souls and for the souls of the past administrators of the entail of Póvoa ("morgado da Póvoa"). After their deaths, the chapel would be administrated by whomever succeeded in the administration of that entail. The institutors determined that their bodies had to be buried in that chapel. To fulfil the will of Beatriz Eanes, Beatriz Valente's grandmother, who asked her granddaughter to support the celebration of annual masses for her soul in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, and to honour D. Violante's soul, the institutors determined that the future administrators had to give, each year, 50 réis, wheat and wine to that convent.

Chapel foundation deed by which Jorge Pereira and his sister Maria Antunes established an entail, with the obligation to celebrate masses in the Church of Nossa Senhora de Ventosa or in the hermitage of that parish. They appointed their niece Isabel Pereira as the first administrator, and her heirs should succeed in this entail. Maria Antunes, however, should administer it during her life and is obligated to incorporate several properties into the entail. The institutor also refers that his mother Paula Antunes had some "pardieiros" that were sold and that he bought again in order to turn them into houses. He wanted to use its rents for the celebration of five masses for his parents-in-law Jerónimo de Morais and Paula de Medeiros' soul.

Chapel foundation deed by which Manuel Guterres, Fidalgo da Casa do Rei, on behalf of Fernando Pires de Sousa, clérigo, his uncle, established a chapel in the church of S. Julião of Lisboa, entailing to it a public debt instrument of 40 000 réis in Estanco do Tabaco, whose revenues would support the celebration of a daily perpetual mass for the institutor's soul. The first chaplain had to be designated by Pedro de Sousa, the entail's first administrator. The latter committed himself to fulfil the institutor's will.

Chapel foundation deed by Genoveva Pereira da Cunha, António Ribeiro Pereira, Vicente Pereira de Castro and D. Leonor Soutomaior. Fulfilling the will of Doutor Nicolau Pereira de Castro, son of Genoveva Pereira da Cunha, she established a chapel with a third of his assets and of his son, to fulfill the charges, celebrated in the church of Nossa Senhora da Salvação in Arruda dos Vinhos. It also encloses the assets left by priest Manuel Pereira, her son, before his profession. According to the same will, he appoints Vicente Pereira de Castro, first administrator. The succession was to be that set forth in the Kingdom Ordinances. Priest António Ribeiro Pereira would also entail, on his death, his property to the aforementioned chapel. Vicente Pereira de Castro and D. Leonor Soutomaior, his wife, also attach a third of their property, namely the Nossa Senhora da Luz' farm, in Vinha, on the outskirts of Arruda dos Vinhos, to the chapel.

Chapel foundation deed by which Diogo Saraiva and his wife Isabel Mendes incorporated several properties and rents of cereal, wine, chestnuts and olive oil, in order to fulfill the chapel's obligations. They wanted to build, at their own expense, the chancel of the hermitage of Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Penelas, on the outskirts of Lamego. The administrators would be obligated to maintain the hermitage and to ensure the cult. They designated their son, Doutor Domingos Saraiva, to be its first administrator and to be responsible for choosing between one of his brothers, or between one of his nephews, the sucessor of this entail.

Chapel foundation deed by António de São Dionísio, bishop of the island of Santiago, in Cape Verde. The bishop declares that he has built a chapel under the invocation of Nossa Senhora da Piedade in the farmstead of Santo André de Marecos, in the Bishopric of Porto, leaving a retable with the image of the Virgin to be placed in the said chapel, where perpetual daily Masses would be celebrated for the soul of the founder. António de São Dionísio leaves 4.000 cruzados to be used to buy estates or interest rates to be entailed to the chapel. The first administrator would be his nephew, Manuel de Sousa Loureiro, to whom the institutor leaves the power to appoint one of his children as successor. After that, the succession would go primarily to the first-born sons. The successor should always be an Old Christian. The institutor also requestes that the bishops of Porto and the "provedores das capelas" to register the institution in their records and to surveil the fulfilment of his wishes.

Both administrators should also support the pious obligations of the entail, notably a weekly mass celebrated every friday, along with 900 reis to the 'fábrica' of the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição.

Francisco. He entails to this obligation his farm in Penha de França, Lisboa, which he bequeaths to his nephew, Manuel da Cunha Soares, and to his successors. The priests of the monastery promise to pray the masses according to this intitution.

Chapel foundation deed by which Lopo Rodrigues and his wife Maior Pires ordered the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of masses celebrated every year. After the death of the first of them the chapel would be divided in two, although the administration of both was kept in the same person. They appointed their grandson Lopo Rodrigues to be the first administrator during his lifetime and, after his death, he shall be succeeded by his oldest and legitimate son.

Chapel foundation deed by which Isabel Afonso Pinto ordered the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of twenty masses celebrated every year in the church of Santa Maria do Bispo, in Montemor-o-Novo. She appointed Beatriz André to be the first administrator during her lifetime and, after her death, she shall be succeeded by her eldest son or daughter. After the death of Beatriz André's eldest son, he would pass the administration to the next sibling, from the oldest to the youngest. After the death of the youngest, the administration would pass to the eldest grandson or granddaughter.

This entail is composed of a public debt instrument of 55 187 réis in Tábula Real da Vila de Setúbal and houses located in Lisboa.

Chapel foundation deed by which Beatriz Duarte de Oliveira, Jorge Leitão's widow, entailed 40 000 réis of interest to the chapel she had established in the convent of Nossa Senhora da Rosa of Lisboa and 16 000 réis of interest to the chapel her late husband founded in that convent, which she administrated. She appointed Padre António de Sequeira to be the chaplain of her chapel. The institutor designated Francisco de Morais de Távora to become the administrator of both chapels. He would be succeeded by his eldest son. If the administrator left no descendants, the chapels would be administrated by the chaplain of the convent of Nossa Senhora da Rosa. Beatriz Duarte de Oliveira donated 196 570 réis of interest to her daughter, Soror Joana de Jesus. Contains copies of licences issued on 1655-10-02 and 1658-03-08.

Chapel foundation deed by which Inês Piteira and her brother, Luís Piteira, clérigo de missa, receive the chapel of S. Bento from the priests of the convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça to use as their family's burial place. They bequeath the convent two houses they possess in the parishes of S. Salvador and S. Miguel of Lisboa in exchange for and annual and three weekly masses for their souls. Luís Piteira promises to pay the building of the chapel and declares that if their successors wish to be buried in it they will have to give it a third part of their properties.

Chapel foundation deed by which the priest Luís Ferreira established an entail, designating his third-degree niece Catarina dos Santos, daughter of João Tomé and Maria Esteves, to be its first administrator. She was due to order the celebration of masses wherever she wanted and she, and the future administrators, were obligated to incorporate their third into this entail. If she died without heirs, it should succeed her sister Mariana de Jesus and her heirs. This entail is composed of land, vineyards, olive groves, olive press and mill in the parish of São Pedro de Dois Portos, on the outskirts of Torres Vedras, and also two houses located in Lisboa. The successors could not sell the houses but they could subrogate it, and this provision was also confirmed in this document by João Tomé and Maria Esteves, the houses' possessors.

Chapel foundation deed by which D. Gil Eanes da Costa and D. Joana da Silva, his wife, establish a chapel in the chancel of the church of the Convent of Nossa Senhora de Almoster, where they had their grave. Among other assets, they entail two public debt instruments, in the amount of 60 000 réis, paid at the Távola da Ribeira de Santarém. D. Joana annexes the chapel established by D. Catarina, daughter of Gil Eanes da Costa, which she administers, to this new chapel, and annexes properties to it. D. Catarina was buried in the chancel of that convent and the charges could be celebrated in the monastery of São Marcos, in Montemor-o-Velho, or in any other temple.

They established the obligation to celebrate masses and to light a candle in this church, using the rents of a farm, a "forno" and houses that were donated by Afonso Sanches and D. Teresa. Sancha Domingues would be in charge to fulfill the obligation by the death of her husband, but if she remarried, the obligation would be transmitted to a first born legitimate son or daughter.

Chapel foundation deed by which Vicente Rodrigues Castelão and Joana de Almeida, his wife, establish an entail, incorporating in it lands in Golegã and houses in Lisboa, and determining that its future administrators must support the celebration of annual masses for their souls in the church of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa. After the death of one of the institutors, the surviving one should administer the entail during his/her lifetime and transmit it to António Lagarto Ferreira, Cristóvão Lagarto and Luísa de Almeida's son. His eldest daughter should inherit the entail. This chapel shall also incorporate masses for the soul of Catarina Esteves, first wife of Vicente Rodrigues Castelão, according to her will.

They entailed assets to fulfill charges, celebrated at the altar of the chapel of the brotherhood of Nossa Senhora da Lapa and appoint António de Moura Coutinho, their nephew, as administrator of the chapel, to whom his eldest son should succeed. If the lineage was extinguished, the last administrator had to nominate the successor he considered suitable.

Chapel foundation deed of the chapel of São José, instituted by Manuel Machado and Brásia de Macedo, his second wife, at the College of São Pedro of Coimbra, where the founders and their families were to be buried. The remains of Marta Correia, the founder's first wife, were also to be buried there. The contract, signed between the religionists of the College and Manuel Machado, included the celebration of a daily mass, for the payment of 500.000 réis, already delivered, and for a public debt instrument of the same amount.

Chapel foundation deed by which Madalena da Costa instituted a chapel in the College of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Coimbra, for her soul and for the soul of João Roque, her husband, who was an ourives da prata. She entailed an olive grove, located in Vale de Ferro, to fulfill the charges. It would be the institutor's responsibility to choose the entail's next administrator. If the pious charges were not fulfilled, the chapel's administration would be transferred to the College of Nossa Senhora do Carmo.

Chapel foundation deed in which Gonçalo Rodrigues Marques declares that he has bought the chapel of "Cabeça Santa", in the convent of S. Elói, in Porto, with the intention of establishing his own chapel. To achieve this, he changed the chapel's invocation to St. Gonçalo, the Saint he was named after, and ordered his remains buried there. The institutor entailed 110,000 reis of interest in the Almoxarifado of Porto. He appointed his son António Rodrigues Marques, almoxarife of the comarca of Porto, as the first administrator. The entail was to be inherited by the first-born male son.

Chapel foundation deed by Luís Álvares de Madureira, acting as the executor of Senhorinha Dias' testament, and fulfilling her will. Senhorinha had previously been named as the heir of her late husband, Rui Gomes de Azevedo. Senhorinha wished to establish a chapel in the convent of S. Domingos do Porto, where her husband was buried, and where perpetual masses would be celebrated for the benefit of the couple's souls. The first administrator would be a nephew of Senhorinha's late husband. Rui Gomes de Azevedo, who is not named in the document. Until he came of age, Bartolomeu Lopes, squire and "criado" to the Bishop of Porto, would administer the entail. After that, the succession would go to the first-born sons, excluding clerics.

Chapel foundation deed of the chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, in Aldeia de Cima, Armamar, by Domingos Cardoso da Fonseca, who wished to be buried there. He entails most of his movable and immovable property to fulfill charges, reserving only a few, worth 1 500 cruzados, for the fulfilment of his will. He declares he would appoint the first administrator in his will, but if he did not, the administration would pass to Manuel Cardoso Madeira, his legitimate son, and then to his eldest son.

He entailed the aforementioned farm to fulfill the charges. It was up to the administrator to appoint the successor. If he didn't nominate anyone, the administration should be left to Catarina de Araújo Peixoto, his sister. In lack of an administrator, the administration would be left to the Misericórdia de Penalva.

The founders declared that they had built a chapel in the church of São Julião de Parada do Bouro, dedicated to São João Baptista, where they would be buried. The chapel had an obligation of three masses a week, entangled to the estates. The administrator was to be the same person who owned the "Casa do Serolhal", where both António and João were born. The owner of the chapel had the right to appoint the chaplain, preferring a clergyman from the family.

Chapel foundation deed by António Porto Carneiro, cavaleiro fidalgo, together with his wife Filipa Dias. The couple declares that they have no forced heirs and are therefore free to dispose of their property. They decided to found a chapel with the perpetual obligation to celebrate 100 mases for their souls every year. The first administrator would be António Pinto, cavaleiro fidalgo, nephew of António Porto Carneiro, whom they had raised since early childhood, marrying him to their niece Filipa Dias. Succession in the chapel was primarily through first-born sons, and clerics were excluded from this role. The administrators had to live in Braga. If If they had to leave the city in the service of the king, they had to return and ensure that all the masses were properly celebrated.

Chapel foundation deed by Manuel Ribeiro ordering the celebration of masses in the chapel he previously founded with his late wife, Maria Antunes, in Misericórdia of Viana do Castelo and annexing more assets, bought by him after his wife's death, to the first chapel they founded. He appoints as first administrators of his chapel his nephew and niece, licenciado Baltasar Barbosa de Araújo and Catarina Ribeiro Maciel, his wife. If they do not have offspring when Catarina Ribeiro dies, Baltasar Barbosa de Araújo will enjoy the chapel's income in his life and, after his death, this chapel will be annexed to the chapel founded by Manuel Ribeiro and Maria Antunes, currently administrated by licenciado Gaspar Portes Ribeiro and Isabel Barbosa de Aguilar, his wife.

Chapel foundation deed by Pedro Antunes Ribeiro. The founder established a chapel with the perpetual obligation of a weekly mass. He appointed his nephew Gervásio Antunes Ribeiro, priest of São Gens de Salamonde, as chaplain. The chaplain, treasurer and administrator of the chapel had to be close relatives of the founder, issued from the "Casa da Bouça" or "Louredo". Illegitimate children were excluded from these positions. In the case of two clerics with the same degree of kinship, preference was given to the poorest.

Catarina Lourenço will be the first administrator during her lifetime and, after her death, she shall be succeeded by Manuel Vaz. It has inserted a power of attorney dated 1567-01-27 by which the administrators allowed his servant Diogo Álvares to contract this obligation on their behalf.

Chapel foundation deed by which António Vaz de Parada, beneficiado da igreja matriz do Sardoal, Gil Vaz Temudo's son, established a chapel in the hermitage of Espírito Santo of Sardoal or in its main church, designating his nephew, the priest António Vaz Parada, to administrate it and to celebrate 52 annual masses for his soul. He entailed lands (tapada e olival) and rents (foros) in Telheiro to it. The institutor determined that, after his nephew's death, his son, Diogo Vaz Parada, and his successors in the administration of his entail would have the right to appoint a chaplain to celebrate the masses and to administrate the properties. António Vaz de Parada left 1 000 cruzados for the construction of the chapel.

Chapel foundation deed by which Baltasar de Abreu, Guarda da Casa da Índia, and Maria Fernandes, his wife, established a chapel, entailing to it their farmstead in Alenquer and a vineyard ("vinha da Lagoa"). They determined that its future administrators had to support the celebration of 6 annual masses for their souls in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa, where their bodies would be buried. After both of them died, the entail's administration would be given to a heir designated by Baltasar de Abreu. If he died before choosing a successor, it would be transmitted to his eldest son.

Chapel foundation deed by which Antónia Serrão de Nisa, acting on behalf of her sisters, Catarina Serrão and Mécia Serrão, established a chapel with their assets, which included houses and properties in Torres Novas and in Golegã. She appointed their niece, Leonor de Varela Serrão, who would marry Capitão João Serrão Pinheiro, to administrate it, determining that the entail would be passed to their eldest son. The future administrators of the entail were obligated to support the celebration of 40 annual masses for the institutors' souls in the church of S. Tiago of Torres Novas. Chapel foundation deed by which Capitão Miguel Luís Peleja and his wife, Domingas Nunes, established a chapel in the church of S. Miguel of Alfama, entailing to it mills and houses in Lisboa. Its future administrators were obligated to sustain a chaplain, who would be responsible for celebrating a daily perpetual mass for the institutor's souls in the altar of Almas of that church. They designated their grandnephew, António Luís Peleja, to become its first chaplain and determined that his father, José Luís Peleja, would administrate it. From then on, the chapel's administrator would always be the father or grandfather of its chaplain. It is referred that the institutors had previously signed a contract with the priests of that church in 1666-03-26.

Maria de Sá, wife of Manuel da Costa, established a chapel in the monastery of Santa Cruz of Coimbra, entailing to it the third part of her assets, which included rents (foros) of wheat taken from properties on the outskirts of Coimbra. She designated Sebastião de Sá de Miranda, her relative, to administrate it, obligating him and his successors to support the celebration of an annual mass for the institutor's soul in that monastery. The entail would always be administrated by one of the institutor's relatives, on the condition that they belonged to the lineage of her grandfather, Jorge de Sá.
However, at the end of the institution D. Maria de Sá revoked this last clause, determining that the chapel's administrators were free to choose whoever they desired to succeed them.

Chapel foundation deed by which D. Gonçalo Vaz de Castelo Branco, Regedor da Casa do Cível, and D. Beatriz Valente, his wife, established a chapel in the church of S. Martinho of Lisboa, entailing to it the third part of their assets, which included salterns (marinhas) in Póvoa, lands (casal) in Arruda and houses in Rua de Cata-que-farás, Lisboa. The revenues of those assets would support the celebration of annual masses for their souls and for the souls of the past administrators of the entail of Póvoa ("morgado da Póvoa"). After their deaths, the chapel would be administrated by whomever succeeded in the administration of that entail. The institutors determined that their bodies had to be buried in that chapel. To fulfil the will of Beatriz Eanes, Beatriz Valente's grandmother, who asked her granddaughter to support the celebration of annual masses for her soul in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, and to honour D. Violante's soul, the institutors determined that the future administrators had to give, each year, 50 réis, wheat and wine to that convent.

They designated their son who would inherit the lordship (senhorio) of Ilha das Flores to administrate the entail after the death of his parents, obligating him and his descendants to support the celebration of a daily perpetual mass for their souls in that church, where their bodies would be buried.

Chapel foundation deed by which Margarida de Alcáçova, João da Fonseca's widow, added clauses to the institution she and her late husband had previously made. She designated her son, Antão da Fonseca, to succeed her in the administration of the entail, determining that he should pass it to his descendants, and appointed Jorge Afonso, her compadre, to become a chaplain. She ordered the entail's future administrator to support the celebration of a sung mass every All Saint's day in her chapel and entailed to it a pension of 10 000 réis.

Chapel foundation deed by Pedro Rodrigues. The administrator should be his godson and nephew Pedro Rodrigues, who was currently a student. The administration should be a privilege of the institutor's relatives who wanted to be ordained as priests, and the role could only be exercised by a layman in the absence of clerics.

Chapel foundation deed by which Salvador Gonçalves, moedeiro, and his wife, Inês Alves, establish a chapel with the invocation of Nossa Senhora do Rosário in the church of Santo Adrião da Póvoa, where they wish to be buried. They entail their properties, namely houses and farmlands in Póvoa de Santo Adrião, with an obligation of an annual mass on the day of Nossa Senhora do Rosário and other holidays of the Virgin. They appoint their niece, Inês Rodrigues, daughter of António Rodrigues and Beatriz Alves, sister of Inês Alves, as first administrator, and her successors afterwards. They also bequeath to their nephew, Bernardo Vaz, and to his successors, a vineyard which Salvador Gonçalves had inherited from his father, Gonçalo Pires, with an obligation of an annual mass in their chapel.
